This review is an emotional roller coaster! You are really a bit out of luck with our swords. I hope, that replacements will not disappoint you!
    Cheers.

Honestly my favorite part of this review is watching you do your drills. You're quite good! I'm shopping around for my first fedder, so this was enlightening.

      Thanks!
This was after the second lockdown in germany, so I had quite some time practicing solo drills, lol.

Great review! Informative and entertaining. Lol I know that feeling where "its lighter but kinda feels yes and no", hard to put in words. Kvetun actually reached out to me after my video and did replace the Feder even though it was almost 2 years. Definitly an easy company to contact and work with. They mentioned they have a 3% warranty rate. I don't know what most makers have, Fabian on a podcast mentioned SIGI was 1. something %.

      Thanks a lot!
Really cool that they replace it even after warranty. Of course they want to keep up an image too, but still a nice gesture.
Interesting to know that they have 3% warranty cases for sure. It's still low, but higher than their competitors. I wonder how other companies have.
As long as I end up with a good sword in the end I don't mind, since I have other swords to go back to. But if it was my only sword, it broke and I had to wait for 2 months to get a replacement, it would be a different story.
3 out of 100 is still a good enough of a chance though.

@@petritzky So for some reason my comment gets deleted everytime. Tried like 3 times. Don't know whats up. Maybe its getting put in the "held for review" in YT studio. This is my other account. Its schwertgefluster. I won't link it and see if that helps. And its 60 out of 2000 swords. Kvetun actually has a total on there website. Very transparent.

@@BrownerWho maybe I need to change something in youtube studio? Is there sth like a spamfilter enabled from the beginning? I will have to take a look at that.
Well, anyway thanks for mentioning. Okay so it was Schwertgeflüster thanks!

@@petritzky I'm assuming it was just because of the link. Not a big deal. A couple of your comments were in the spam section and not posted until I allowed them in the comments section of youtube studio. I marked you and some others as "always allow."

Hi. I also had problems with the pommel. I don't usually use thin gloves under the Sparring Gloves. After a long training session, my fingers were cut so you have to pay attention to it.
But It doesnt change the fact that it's a sword that is very nice to hold in your hands.

Makes sense. I don't suffer this problem with the spes, since they have an integrated leather glove.
With sparring gloves it depends of course. Maybe grind them down with sandpaper. It will still be uncomfortable in your hands, but it should stop it from actually cutting in.

How does the Hubert handle compared to your training partner's Ensifer? (2020 model?) I'm currently using an Aureus and looking to buy another deep fuller feder as a backup (since the Aureus made me not like my standard feders any longer). I've handled an Ensifer and it feels very sturdy and high quality but not as alive in the hand as the Aureus. Only problem with the Aureus is that is has taken a slight S shaped set, very annoying. Pommel also has a slight rattle after about 1 year of use. Other than that it's the nicest feder I have handled so far. So I'm wondering about what other options are out there in the deep fuller feder department (Poker Armory has some interesting ones as well, haven't met anyone in RL who uses one though).
Great review btw, that's the kind of content I definitely like to see (worth a sub)

      Wow, thanks.
I have only used my partner's Ensifer once, or twice.
I would say that the Ensifer is even more nimble, but not as strong in the bind. It is also shorter. I had a blast using it.
The other thing I need to say is that the second Hubert I got now is with the usual pear shaped pommel and it seems they beefed the blade up just a little. It pretty much handles like your standard 1,6 kg feder (which it weighs now), but the cool thing is that it's very present in the bind, whilst having quite the flexibility in the thrust.
I was quite surprised first using it tbh, because I won binds I thought I shouldn't have won. It also doesn't develop those nicks in the blade anymore.

@@petritzky Thanks for the infos, it's reassuring to hear that Kvetun has improved the product. While I didn't have the bad luck you had with blade breaks, my Kvetun sidesword is taking edge damage a lot quicker than I expected (using it against another Kvetun sidesword at a moderate sparring intensity only), so I'm not quite sure about getting more Kvetun steel trainers. Then again, the sidesword has rather thin edges (model #2) so perhaps it has more to do with the edge geometry rather than steel quality. Guessing one can expect the deep fuller blade with thicker edges on the Hubert to hold up better than the sidesword models from the same company. My deep fuller Aureus has to go up against strong blade standard Regenyei "crowbars" all the time at full intensity and the thick edgees have held up remarkably well, no maintenance needed so far. Aureus is in a higher price category than the Kvetun Hubert though. Anyway, always happy to see reviews of HEMA gear as I try to avoid "Katze im Sack" purchases, have made my fair share of those, when will I ever learn not to do that... :)
