The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man - Ride Tribute

- The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man at Universal's Islands of Adventure is one of my favorite Spidey things and probably my favorite theme park ride, so here's a little tribute set to the ride's ending music loop from the (sadly closed as of 2024) Universal Japan version of the ride. Recently the original 1999 ride animation was found on a DVD on eBay, so it's really cool to have nearly all that footage clearly!
There's also better quality versions of the pre-ride queue cartoon footage out there as well, so a lot of those factors made me want to put some of the footage together into a fun little reel. The 2012 4K upgraded ride footage is cool but there's just something special about that original footage! The folks working on this ride at Universal really nailed the vibe and I'll always love it!

Surprised no one has pointed out Spider-Man: Unlimited, it looks especially like that show at 0:27
Oh I've noticed since I was a kid. Why I love how he looks in Unlimited
I realized too

I am the bomb squad
This ride is so special to me. The last time I went to Universal I think I rode it six(?) times in a day.
Just magical.
I never understood the moment where Doc Ock falls backwards. Only now, because I watched the DVD version did I grasp what happens.
He’s holding the ride vehicle, but the bumper rips off. So he goes flying and we roll backwards. It’s so satisfying to understand aha
I went on 7 times cuz the last time I went as a kid before was during the like 2 month time span they remodeled it. I’d never been so disappointed. So when I went again as an adult I made sure I had my fill 😂
I’ll have to track down the high quality footage of the pre show. I’m obsessed with it, and watching someone film it off a TV doesn’t cut it!
If you find it please dm me
This is like an insane alternate universe version of TAS. Seeing a more classic Romita-styled Peter is surreal.
It's the Unlimited artstyle, but with designs closer to 94'
@@RandomizationShow I don't know it looks like a hybrid of both, and then unlimited is supposed to be possibly a spin-off universe of the animated series...
I got to go on this ride pretty recently. The line was absurdly long, but it was well worth it. I liked the CG graphics the modern ride uses, but there's definitely a charm to the older animations that looked like a FMV cutscene from a PS2 game. And the cartoon segments they played in the queue were all great. It really was like some weird lost pilot for The Animated Series. The whole experience was really charming.
I freakin love this ride. Went to Orlando on January of this year and in my opinion still holds up as one of if not the best 3D dark ride in all the world
I absolutely love your channel. Thank you for the wonderful work you do for the Spider-fandom.
I remember being lucky enough to get to ride this when I was a kid. My family never went on any vacations yet somehow we got to go and I rode this ride like 5 times. The line was so long but it was worth it.
I miss the Spider-Man ride!😭🕷
Great tribute! I’m Hoping to one day get ahold of the rock version of this music that played in the exit hall from 1999-2012 but there’s no good recordings of it anywhere. I could remake it but I don’t want to do that without a good reference, curse the passage of time.
Woah how did you find the animated footage? The ones they showed on the TVs in the daily bugle
its always been my dream to go to on this ride one day. i remember watching so many videos of this as a kid and thought it was the coolest thing ever. hopefully when i have the money i’ll be able to 🤞🏼
Just go ! you won't regret it. So far I have been to the one in Orlando and Osaka
Awesome editing here!
I always wished i could go to that ride, sadly as you said, is no longer available for today's time, still an amazing piece of Spider-History
The Japan version closed in January of this year but the US Florida version is still open!
@@Fudgebudger Sweet! Still, thanks for the pointers!
This is totally awesome! Do you think you can make a full link video of the news report scenes from the ride in fully HD?
Always wanted to ride this back when i was a kid, such a genius invention by universal studios. Thanks for the tribute video.
"Good job team SCOOP, you did great! Now when the SCOOP comes to a stop: gather all your personal belongings then wait untill the lap-bar has raised before you exit, and don't forget to drop off the night-vision goggles in the bins provided. Well i better see about getting Mr. Jameson down, Cya later True Believers!
YOOOOO where did you get HD footage of the cartoon ride que? I've been searching for DECADES
Is there an HD version of the full spiderman cartoon for the waiting area of the ride somewhere online?
Hey, is there any new information about Spider-Man: Venom-Factor? (Cancelled 90's quest game for PC)
Wait hold up, wasn't spider-man : venom factor the name of a 90s spider-man novel?
@@yourfatboy5359 It was! There was also a game based on it in development at one time, I created the Lost Media Wiki page for it a few years ago. lostmediawiki.com/Spider-Man:_The_Venom_Factor_(lost_unreleased_Spider-Man_PC_game;_1996-1997)
Maybe it's something I could talk about in a video sometime! I have tried reaching out to some folks who I thought might have been involved in this a while ago but it hasn't lead anywhere.
@@Fudgebudger so my memory was right! i remember reading it years ago, and for the longest time i thought it was just a fever dream i had. It's a damn shame the game wasn't released, it could've been fun. i pray someone who was working on the project responds to you, hope your efforts don't go to waste 🙏
And was it only going to cover the events of the venom factor or the entire novel trilogy?
Do you have the music from the end of the US version of the ride?
It’s the same. This source just came from the Japanese version of the ride. They shared an identical soundtrack just with dialogue in different languages.
