    I had a CP300 for several years. Wonderful keyboard action and wonderful sounds. It was not, however, very portable in that it is extremely heavy.

    Despite its being heavy, it's yamaha's best stage piano. It feels so good abd is so much fun to play, very powerful

    I wish I would’ve never sold my keyboard. This keyboard was so warm and smooth when playing. Best keyboard I ever purchase

    Its the same. They both have Graded Hammer Effect. The CP33 is lighter and don't have all the bells and whistles. But I play both and according to Yamaha's website they both come with the SAME Graded Hammer Effect. Yamaha has a few different Graded Hammer Actions. Refer to their website and it goes into detail to explain which is best for you.

    Awesome Sound!

  • @ebenezerchoirs

    Yes, the authentic touch and sound is only heard and played on a digital piano or keyboard that Yamaha makes. What a lot of people don't know is Yamaha spends the money to re-create the sound of their $200,000 CF Concert Grand. They also put the time and money in the authentic touch. I play the CP300 every Sunday and if you didn't see the keyboard, you'd think it was their Concert Grand. I would never take anything in place of a Yamaha even if I was paid to. It's a Yamaha for me or none.

    There is a headphone jack on the instrument, but no hook to hang headphones on (if that's what you're asking). Feel free to contact me with any other questions.

    Hi Jason,
    Thanks for your business. It's all about personal preference. Yamaha instruments have great sound quality and are widely used by professional musicians around the world. There are also many other manufactures that make great sounding instruments…Nord, Kurzweil, Korg, and Roland to just name a few. It just comes down to what instrument works the best for you. Thanks for watching!

    If you can, buy a P250; They sound virtually the same, but the 250 can be found from $300-$450. I just bought one for $280 in perfect condition. This does have enhancements, but they are not worth the price deficit.

    You can purchase an optional music rest from Yamaha…the "CP REST". We also include this music rest in many of our CP-series BUNDLES. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

    Is it true that Yamaha's have the best piano tone? I bought earlier this year from your company the Casio WK-7500. Because of it's popularity. It has nice piano patches. And it's affordability and lightweight. Also Yamaha's are widely used on stages. Your honest opinion appreciated please?

    Tony: Enjoyed this clip on the Yamaha CP 300. How would this rig sound with the II Ivory Steinway D code? What kind of computer requirements would be needed and would the code automatically override the indigenous CP 300 code?
    Thanks

    can you explain to me what you mean by layering sounds .
    do you mean I record something on the piano and then play it and play on top on it another sound
    or both "instruments sounds" will play the same tune ?

      It's an awesome stage piano, the action is great, but never like an acoustic piano. Its action is much better than the cp4 and cp40, but the stage piano closest to an acoustic is the kawai mp11

    I'm looking for a very good digital piano, mostly for home. I want built in speakers. I want to be able to split the keyboard. Is there a better one than this? Even though it's 71 pounds, it still can be moved on a dolly or in a wheeled case, for the few times that may be desirable. P255?

    Whats better, the roland fp 90 or the yamaha cp300?

    • @Luca-gi1rx
      @Luca-gi1rx 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've been playing the cp300 for 9 years now and I'm really happy about it. I haven't played that specific roland before, but I have played a couple of other rolands. I liked the cp300 better every time (maybe because I'm used to playing it). The touch just feels better to me. Also, the keys of the cp300 are weighted. This makes it easier (for me) to switch between keyboards/stage pianos and grand/vertical pianos.
      Also, I think the cp300 has a lot more sounds and instruments included than the fp90.
      But in the end, it's my opinion and you'll have to choose for yourself. I recommend reaching out to someone who has both pianos and try them out.

    are you serious??? you're comparing a $450 keyboard to a $2000 professional stage piano... of course cp300 wins!

  • @driven2thrive33
    @driven2thrive33 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    It sounds great but l think given what it does, it's one of the most over-priced keyboards. A Nord of the same price range has great sounds and more. Even other cheaper Yamaha stage pianos and synthesizers sound as good. I don't get why this one costs what it does.

    • @Josifer4GAppFire
      @Josifer4GAppFire 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because it retailed this in 2006, For some reason they won't drop the price 12 years later lol.

  • @5FingersJoe
    @5FingersJoe 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tony, the salesman who sold me my CP300 told me all I needed was an USB cable to copy or move files I create to my computer. I wasted $80 in cables. I need to move the files of my own (one-handed) arrangements to my PC; then I will send them to my son who will make CDs. By the way, the instruction manual is terrible, in my opinion as a retired tech doc editor and writer.

    For the price, my Yamaha p-35 sounds about the same, only with much better keys. Hinestly, this product cannot comoare to other stage pianos. It doesn't have up to par sounds and most importantly, it's piano sound is just plain stiff and bad. I hate this piano. Honestly my p-35 does a better job, especially when i use it as a midi controller. The cp-300 is not up to par for that price range, and every time I have to play it at school, a little part of me dies. Thank god it has midi, so I can at least get a proper sound, but the keys are still stiff and unpleasent.

    • @ernestbuckley8671
      @ernestbuckley8671 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +raicho20 hmmm, I used the CP250 at work for 5 years and then we upgraded to the CP300 and I purchased one for home use as well and I have to tell you, the keys are a bit stiff in the beginning but they really do settle in nicely after some playing and for my $$$, this is the best feeling keyboard out there. I used a Roland FP3 for years as well but it never felt as good as the CP300. As for sounds, the presets are pretty darn good. Considering this keyboard was built for the road, I would feel really well covered with the organ and keyboard sounds on board. My only gripe is that it weighs a ton so unless I had some roadies, this would not be my first choice but thankfully it sits in my studio where I play it everyday.

    • @CameronSpencer
      @CameronSpencer 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great reply, I agree with you about the feel. I have a P-250 and it is still my sole keyboard at home, having played it since I was 9 in 2005 (it's not for gigging though, I recently got an MOXF8 for that as it's lighter and more portable/has more tech!).
      I can't believe anyone would say a P-35 feels or sounds better. Sure, some of the P-250 sounds are a bit cheesy but it's better in every way I have to say!

    • @raicho20
      @raicho20 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** The P35 doesn't sound better, but this particular piano just doesn't sound that impressive, that's what I'm trying to say!

    • @CameronSpencer
      @CameronSpencer 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      raicho20 I'd say the P-250 piano sounds great for its release year (2003) and it feels great but everyone's entitled to their opinion :)
