You don't mention the feel at all. I tried it out in a music store and it just feel absolutely AMAZING to play on it! I can't believe how real it feels. I'm not kidding, my fingers are litterally ACHING to touch it again!
Oh my God, I love this channel! Well, I am going to buy a new piano, and I want to have a good one, and it's horrible to search info about pianos at the thousand of websites...So I love Kraft Music. Thats the best music site on TH-cam!
Joseph D…..I think the audio inputs would be combined with the stereo output from the keyboard into a single stereo audio file. I don't believe you can multitrack (or part out) the inputs. The CP5 owner's manual may have some more details regarding on-board audio recording. -Dave
The feature you're describing is called "panel lock" and it's found on the Yamaha CP300 and CP33. It doesn't look like the CP5 or CP50 stage pianos include this feature. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
The CP5 mic input does not supply phantom power, so only dynamic mics can be used. The mic signal will route to your audio output. It looks like the on-board recorder only records wav files, but these can be easily imported into Logic and converted into MP3 if needed. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
@paulallen34 Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Yamaha CP5. For this video we just used the direct outputs of the CP5 and ran them into the camera. Tony was hearing his performance through a pair of studio monitors, but this isn't heard on the recording. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
which of these would be best to play the yamaha cp5 through, yamaha stagepas 300,yamaha hs80m or roland kc-350 amplifier.i want the best sound i only play at home.hope someone can help.
can you play a beat say like a drum beat on the cp5 and play over the top of it with a piano sound, can you only record to the thumb drive or does it have a sequencer on it.
I bought a CP5 and sound of the S6 piano is a little bit strange on keys C-1#, D-1# and D-1, Sounds like a metallic sound that are off pitch in some way. You can really hear that these keys sounds different from the others.
I own one of these babies. Sounds great and pretty easy to learn "straight out of the box". Though I must say, I use them along with a PA system from Mackie. This in my oppinion is not a very good setup. It`s like my Mackie`s hate the Yamaha! Why is that? The piano sound needs careful adjustment for it to not tear my ears appart as the volume increases.... And since I spent a fortune on both the piano and the PA, I`m sorta stuck with it this way! Any ideas?Tuning tips etc for it to sound better?
love the piano sound of the cp5 are the electric piano sounds better than on the XF7 what are you playing this cp5 through is it a very expensive amplifier..
Hi, Glad you enjoyed out video demo of the CP5. Like most professional stage pianos (CP300 being a notable exception), the CP5 does not feature on-board speakers. You must connect the instrument to an external sound system, PA, or keyboard amp. For this video we played the CP5 through a pair of Yamaha MSR250 powered speakers…you can't see them because they are out of the shot. You're hearing the direct sound from the keyboard. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music (800)783-3368
Is there a way of setting the keys to a particular performance and locking the buttons. I set the keys to piano in transpose -1 but during a gig I have accidentally hit the transpose out or changing the piano to strings by placing down a tambourine.. Basically I'd like to lock the buttons so if I hit the buttons with the tambourine nothing would happen? cheers
A few questions to kraftmusic about Yamaha CP5: 1. Does only a dynamic mike work with the CP5? Not a condensed mike? 2. If I plug in a mike and/or another instrument (e.g. guitar) to the CP5, can the vocals and/or other instrument be heard through the same monitor speakers I hook the CP5 to? Simultaneously with the keyboard? 3. If I record to a USB stick on the CP5, can the recording be on an mp3, so I can upload it onto Logic, etc.? Look forward to your response. Thank you!
@kraftmusic thanks for getting back to me im trying to choose between the cp5 xf7 or clp470pe does the cp5 have any drum beats built in were you can play along with i know it doesnt have the arpeggiators like on the xf7 lastly how can i connect the cp5 to my mac is there a special cable i need to buy.
@kraftmusic thanks for the info on the yamaha cp5 ive recently heard a demo on youtube of a guy playing the yamaha xf7 electric piano with phaser and just loved it does the cp5 have the same electric piano with phaser effects.
@paulallen34 Yes, electric piano (specifically Rhodes) with phaser effect is a classic sound and the CP5 will give you many different variations. To answer your previous question, the CP5 will give you more ability to customize your electric piano sound, when compared to the XF7. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
@kraftmusic Hi Dave, I'm wondering whether the keybed of the CP5 is better than that of the Roland RD700NX - especially regarding repetition and connection to the sound. What do you think? Thank you very much for your advice
While it shares the same modeled concert piano sound, the CP5 doesn't have quite as many editing parameters and controls. That being said, the CP5 really is a great value and we are finding it to be a popular alternative to the CP1. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Thank you for the quick and helpful response, Dave! A clarification please: if I plug in an instrument like guitar to the cp5, that would also route to my audio output, right? And if I plug in both a mike and guitar, they, along, with the keyboard, will all route to the audio output?
Glad you enjoyed our video demo. Be sure to check out our BUNDLES for the best deal on a CP5. Please feel to contact us with any other questions or if you'd like to place an order. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
@kraftmusic Hey and thanks for the reply! I did the adjustments to the mid-high frequencies, and it helps abit. It`s just nasty without that adjustment. But still, when the volume increases on my PA, it`s not very easy on the ears. I`ve always been searching for this warm, clear but distinguished sound piano sound. And when I use my headphones, the sound is beautiful almost without any adjustments. It might be my Mackies... I`m lost :P

@Ryztad I would take the CP5. It has an improved action and more sounds to choose from, as well as some very detailed physical models of acoustic and electric pianos. The only disadvantage to the CP5 would be the lack of on-board speakers. If that was important to you, I'd recommend the Yamaha CP300. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
@paulallen34 Great! Glad you enjoyed our video. Please consider purchasing one of our BUNDLES to get a bunch of great accessories with the CP5 at a discount price. @malmkongen Hi, If the CP5 piano sound is too harsh through your Mackies try cutting some high-mid frequencies like the 2-5K range. This should help the tone be a little more manageable. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
can you please help me i dont know how to play piano and strings at the same time on the cp5 can you advise me on this.also for the very best piano sound is it best to have the PRE-AMP & PWR AMP turned off.i have had 6 or 7 clavinovas in the past but find the cp5 more complicated.cant even get it to work with cubase using the yamaha ux16 usb to midi cable.hope you can help. paul n.ireland
@paulallen34 Thanks for your interest. For playing at home I would definitely recommend a pair of HS80M monitors. These will give you plenty of volume for home use and better sound quality than the KC350 or Stagepas 300. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368

Adam K Bedford he means, a keyboard that has a transpose button is not for professionals. 😂 because if you are a good player you dont need to transpose you should play in all keys

What would be the relative advantages of the CP5 vs. the CP300? Similar price. But is there anything that the CP300 is better for?
Can it be used as a midi controller for my Logic Pro X... ?

CP5 In my opinion is but CP50 is still great.
I don't like the cp4,33,40 or 50. Despite their heavy weight, the cp1,5 and 300 stand out from the cp series.
Like the Yamaha CP5 but the transpose button is a no no.
+P.J. WEBB How do you mean? It has a transpose button !?
5mins 18secs and Look at 4mins 10secs

Sounds like he is playing skrillex at 6:20
