The art v temperance card is for several reasons: the main reference is because this deck is very alchemy based. In the past alchemy was referred to as the Art of Alchemy - in that it was a skill that needed to be learnt and required much knowledge, hard work, and experimentation to get right. 'Science' was also referred to as an 'art'. Temperance was part of the alchemical process. Crowley knew this and so renamed the temperance card 'art' in the Thoth deck. So it is another nod to Thoth in the deck apart from the princess/page swap. I like your choices - most were the ones I made too :) I actually kept several of the option cards as well as the traditional cards because they showed different sides of the meanings ie. Empress vs Fertility. So the Empress for me represents the 'motherhood as leader of her children, female power aspect, whereas the Fertility card speaks for the creative energies and processes of life inherent within us and the world around us. I ended up keeping in both death cards, both hermit cards, allll the moon cards and both the world and the universe! I have a mega deck.... sorry this ended up being an essay and I still haven't finished :o I know what you mean about the 8 of wands card with the wands coming out of her head, but I know it from when I am disassociating. I get what I call 'tentacle-headed' because it feels like my brains are spilling out of my head like tentacles or fronds and I can't keep it all together. Weird and alarming feeling!
Hey Christa, Really enjoyed this video. It was fun seeing all the different cards and the ways you can interpret them. This is a well made deck. I'm always a sucker for linen cardstock.
Okay, I watched this in like 3 sittings but i loved this flip through!! super fun. I had so many similar initial reactions to certain cards which made me laugh, and i made a few of the same choices when building mine. The dog-man cracked me up and therefore 100% made it into my deck lol. thanks for the fun vid!
So glad I watched this. I was two seconds away from ordering the last edition with heavier card stock...but I'll be ordering this edition instead. I really like the linen card stock. Great video! It was so fun watching you choose between the cards. Also, Princess replaces the Page. So glad we have the option. So many options!

Oh my god I'm waiting to receive this beautiful deck ! This is a stunning piece of art. Although, this tarot may be darker than a lot of us are used to... For example the six of wands, which means victory, looks like the characters are going to war. It's not overwhelming but in many cases, I will have to remind me not to let myself be influenced by the creepy energy of a card that should be positive in the first place. I noticed that you were looking forward to the Queens and less to the Kings ! Personally, I love the queen of wands but I very much dislike her king. To me, the king of wands should be desirable and energetic and here we have an old, disturbed, crazy-ass leader of some African tribe. But in the other hand, the king of cups of this deck is perfect. One can't have it all ! Still, this Rider-Waite-Smith-based deck is the closest to the tarot of my dreams . Thank you for the review, I was there with you sharing your excitement !

It's a bit unclear to me which card the Princess is supposed to replace, but I think it's probably just up to the deck owner. The Golden Dawn system uses Princess, Prince, Queen, and King BUT the Thoth system uses Princess, Prince, Queen, and Knight. So it's a bit unclear which is supposed to be swapped in this case, but Page made the most sense to me (not because the meaning of Page and Princess is the same, but just because Princess and Knight seem closer to one another in status or maturity level, especially compared with the King and Queen who are also equals, if that makes sense). I might contact the creators about this just out of curiosity though.
Haha I think your cat was offended by the lions situation in “strength” and “fortitude”. Protest! 😅 I think I would leave all options in the deck because I would want the reading to vary depending on what turns up… I may just get this deck if it’s still available.
Princesses are to be add, doesn't replace others cards. It is not a 78 cards tarot anyway. If you take 22 majors plus the 5 suites with princesses, you have a 97 cards deck.

I have to say I was surprised I was so intrigued by this deck, it’s not one I’d typically go for for sure! I’m loving it so far, it feels like the darker energy I’ve been missing in my library🙂
