I just found your Chanel and I’m binge watching your videos. ❤ love the Earth Magick tarot and the Soprafino. I added these to my wishlist. The Terra Volatile and tarochi by Mr Friborg are some of my favorites in my collection.

So many of these decks are on my wish list....LOL You have the most beautiful taste in decks. You are making me want to buy another copy of the Druidcraft that still has the borders because my copy is cut down to the art. I do love it all the way down to the art, but man those borders really do look good also. I loved seeing your top 10! 💖

There’s stuff about the courts in the Thoth tarot that I still haven’t quite processed. As far as the astrological associations go though, for the minor arcana, the aces represent the elements in more of a broad sense, then 2-4 correspond to the cardinal sign within that element, 5 - 7 to the fixed sign, and 8 - 10 to the mutable sign. Among the 36 2 - 10 numbered cards, the planets Sun through Saturn are each represented within five of the signs (Mars is in six), with at least one of every planet represented through each suit. For example, Wands is Mars in Aries (2), Sun in Aries (3), Venus in Aries (4), Saturn in Leo (5), Jupiter in Leo (6), Mars in Leo (7), Mercury in Sag (8), Moon in Sag (9), and Saturn in Sag (10). The deck 8th house tarot is really great for learning the astrological associations on their own; now that I’ve learned them though, I like that while not being the sole focus, they’re depicted within the imagery in the Thoth tarot and are an aspect that can be worked with in interpreting the cards. I know there are also deeper levels to astrological associations when it comes to Thoth, but for me, knowing the associations is beneficial just in terms of making me more aware of patterns between the cards within a reading.

I also love large cards. I have the Terra Volatile on order, and I can’t wait! I really expect it to be one of my top 2 or 3 decks. I also have the Pagan Otherworlds. Like you, I’m not crazy about pips, but I like the way those are enhanced … often with the landscape of traditional RWS, so I find it easy to read, and I agree about the artwork looking like paintings and they’re deeply engaging. Thank you for sharing these. You may have sold me on that Oracle deck. I am very drawn to the Mr. Friborg, but not sure yet. 😊 And of course you have the Giant RWS! It’s my mainstay, too.

Great list! Some decks that I hadn't seen before that were beautiful. I loved the idea of the giant RWS as a daily card draw practice. Also you drew the Justice card from it again, it must be trying to get your attention I think 😊

Yes Rob, You can get the large RWS by AGM similar print quality to the Toth deck you just showed. It comes in a two part box and the colours are just beautiful and soft.
Loved the way you explain decks and know your taste. I backed the kickstarter for Mr. Friborg Tarot Sirena that just ended. His art is so beautiful. I don’t own any of these decks. I’m interested in the historical one you shared, the Thoth and the pagan otherworlds decks. Thanks for sharing!

@MysticRob82 you are welcome! I am definitely adding the Somnia deck to my list of things to buy. It looks incredible. I'm more of a poker card reader, but I own, I think 13 tarot decks the last time I counted. I usually don't keep ones I don't enjoy. Out of those I'm thinking, my top would be the Da Vinci Enigma deck (this was what I learned to read on - probably not a great idea considering each back is unique and you build the layout of the reading by matching the backs up), the Golden Thread by Labyrinthos is my COD deck, the fairy tarot from Los Scarabeo (I feel like I spelt that wrong) - (I've owned this deck twice, so I must like it, I couldn't read it for years) the forager's daughter- I got it on Kickstarter or something during the pandemic and it has a lot of North American animals and plants that I feel connected to. - can say the same about the Woodland Wardens oracle cards My favorite oracle cards are Oracle of Pluto by Aubry Houdeshell - (I am probably misspelling her name too) I would run into a burning house to save the Wise Dog Tarot, idk who it's by and I don't read them often (I've read them twice to send messages to people after their dog passed). But I saw them on holiday after my English Pointer passed and I couldn't leave them in the store in case he was in there. I was scared after I bought them that I had wasted my money, but after a few weeks and a lot of courage I opened them and found him on the 6 of Swords, with his nose on a duck's head, my team mascot is a duck and he would despite his massive size lay on the top of the back of my couch and rest his nose on my head and we would nap. I was so heartbroken when he passed and angry that I asked the fairy tarot cards, why was he even a part of my life, and I got the 6 of bells, which is a boy kissing a girl on the head. Apparently he just here to kiss my forehead. Anyway, thank you for listening. Lol tarot is so beautiful and so personal.

I found it funny when you mentioned that you don't like the Pagan Otherworld's card stock - it is by far my very favorite card stock that I've ever worked with. I really dislike rose petal card stock as I find it difficult to shuffle. I must enjoy slippery decks!

For me the Druidcraft shares the #1 spot along with the Borderless Edition Smith Waite Deck by US Games Systems. Personally I think Will Worthington is the best deck artist out there. Each card in the Druidcraft was first an original piece of art done on wood. I'm not aware there are other editions with different colors unless perhaps there's a counterfeit deck out there, lots of that going around unfortunately. I have the deck set with full size book, and also the one that includes the abbreviated book. I do enjoy the full size paperback. I enjoyed modifying one of the decks and removing the borders, which I find distracting. The art really did shine even more once the borders were removed, but that's a matter of personal preference. Handling each card when removing the borders and rounding the corners gave me a sense of deep connection with the deck.
Hello @divinedetective the Druid tarot is a wonderful deck and I must confess it is pretty new for me it took me really a long time to finally order it and in the end I am soooo glad I did..I love ❤️ the big card size I am a big card lover so this particular deck is perfect for me. I haven’t thought of the Somnia Illustrated inna while, I do like it-reminds me of the drawings of Daniel Clowes a bit. I learned of Diaz’s Earth Magick deck this month, which I was pleased to see her appreciated in a top deck vid. I really liked you showing how the different cardstocks work in those “fan situations.” I’ve never touched decks with linen finish-they seem really popular currently. I mainly use the Mary El Tarot-the guidebook has been such an education. Unless I find something more compelling, my next deck will be the 78-card edition of the Autonomic Tarot! I like surreal decks that aren’t beholden to RWS imagery. You seem to enjoy artful takes on classic deck imagery, which is nice. My daily deck, the The Mary El, is inspired by Marseilles, Thoth & RWS, as well as Carl Jung & Joseph Campbell. Now, I want something even more abstract, and less referential to western symbology. The Autonomic has a pip-ish minor arcana with a twist: the Aces & 10s are graphic & given their own names (so only cards 2-9 are the pips). Take care

I know crazy question but how do you usually find your decks? Do you look through Etsy or other sites because I'm wanting more than just Amazon mass produced decks. And it's hard to find the style I love and you have the entire 10 I would pick in a heartbeat. Ty for stating.

@MysticRob82 Tabula Mundi is so well done! It is a Thoth based deck, so if you're into studying the tarot and western esotericism, it is definitely a deck with that kind of depth. The creator Mel Meleen really knows her stuff and the artwork is beautiful. Her deck and her podcast, Fortune's Wheelhouse, that she does with T. Susan Chang have been instrumental resources for me. The Mary-El is another deep dive deck that I adore.

I have the photography version of Somnia tarot and love it. Definitely a top ten. The images are so strong and evocative. Pagan Otherworlds is another top ten for me. I have the Wildwood tarot which is similar to Druid Craft, same artist. The Wildwood has lots of animals and all the court cards are animals. Great book, as well. Definitely a top five deck for me. Seen so many positive reviews of Terra Volatile that I think I’ll go for it. The book looks scrumptious. Thank you so much for this vid, beautiful decks/great choices.

What a brilliant collection of decks! Though you did miss out the Slow Tarot which is my personal #1 (you wouldn't like the cardstock though - more slippy linen). I have also preordered the latest version of the Terra Volatile & am looking forward to having it in my hands later in the year. I really want the Earth Magick deck and will hopefull get it next time I go to the US. And yes, The Wisdom of the Shadow deck is my go to oracle deck. I'm not much for oracle decks but this one is something special! And, of course, I have the Druidcraft Tarot which is in a class all of its own.

Tarrochi I have the Vintage version and 100% that would be on my top 10. I learned Thoth years ago, but hated the deck. A few years ago I chopped off those borders and now I love the deck. I have both sizes. I also like big decks.

@MysticRob82 you are welcome! I am definitely adding the Somnia deck to my list of things to buy. It looks incredible. I'm more of a poker card reader, but I own, I think 13 tarot decks the last time I counted. I usually don't keep ones I don't enjoy. Out of those I'm thinking, my top would be
the Da Vinci Enigma deck (this was what I learned to read on - probably not a great idea considering each back is unique and you build the layout of the reading by matching the backs up),
the Golden Thread by Labyrinthos is my COD deck,
the fairy tarot from Los Scarabeo (I feel like I spelt that wrong) - (I've owned this deck twice, so I must like it, I couldn't read it for years)
the forager's daughter- I got it on Kickstarter or something during the pandemic and it has a lot of North American animals and plants that I feel connected to. - can say the same about the Woodland Wardens oracle cards
My favorite oracle cards are Oracle of Pluto by Aubry Houdeshell - (I am probably misspelling her name too)
I would run into a burning house to save the Wise Dog Tarot, idk who it's by and I don't read them often (I've read them twice to send messages to people after their dog passed). But I saw them on holiday after my English Pointer passed and I couldn't leave them in the store in case he was in there. I was scared after I bought them that I had wasted my money, but after a few weeks and a lot of courage I opened them and found him on the 6 of Swords, with his nose on a duck's head, my team mascot is a duck and he would despite his massive size lay on the top of the back of my couch and rest his nose on my head and we would nap. I was so heartbroken when he passed and angry that I asked the fairy tarot cards, why was he even a part of my life, and I got the 6 of bells, which is a boy kissing a girl on the head. Apparently he just here to kiss my forehead. Anyway, thank you for listening. Lol tarot is so beautiful and so personal.

I found it funny when you mentioned that you don't like the Pagan Otherworld's card stock - it is by far my very favorite card stock that I've ever worked with. I really dislike rose petal card stock as I find it difficult to shuffle. I must enjoy slippery decks!

For me the Druidcraft shares the #1 spot along with the Borderless Edition Smith Waite Deck by US Games Systems. Personally I think Will Worthington is the best deck artist out there. Each card in the Druidcraft was first an original piece of art done on wood. I'm not aware there are other editions with different colors unless perhaps there's a counterfeit deck out there, lots of that going around unfortunately. I have the deck set with full size book, and also the one that includes the abbreviated book. I do enjoy the full size paperback. I enjoyed modifying one of the decks and removing the borders, which I find distracting. The art really did shine even more once the borders were removed, but that's a matter of personal preference. Handling each card when removing the borders and rounding the corners gave me a sense of deep connection with the deck.
Hello @divinedetective the Druid tarot is a wonderful deck and I must confess it is pretty new for me it took me really a long time to finally order it and in the end I am soooo glad I did..I love ❤️ the big card size I am a big card lover so this particular deck is perfect for me. I haven’t thought of the Somnia Illustrated inna while, I do like it-reminds me of the drawings of Daniel Clowes a bit. I learned of Diaz’s Earth Magick deck this month, which I was pleased to see her appreciated in a top deck vid.
I really liked you showing how the different cardstocks work in those “fan situations.” I’ve never touched decks with linen finish-they seem really popular currently.
I mainly use the Mary El Tarot-the guidebook has been such an education. Unless I find something more compelling, my next deck will be the 78-card edition of the Autonomic Tarot! I like surreal decks that aren’t beholden to RWS imagery. You seem to enjoy artful takes on classic deck imagery, which is nice.
My daily deck, the The Mary El, is inspired by Marseilles, Thoth & RWS, as well as Carl Jung & Joseph Campbell. Now, I want something even more abstract, and less referential to western symbology. The Autonomic has a pip-ish minor arcana with a twist: the Aces & 10s are graphic & given their own names (so only cards 2-9 are the pips).

@MysticRob82 Tabula Mundi is so well done! It is a Thoth based deck, so if you're into studying the tarot and western esotericism, it is definitely a deck with that kind of depth. The creator Mel Meleen really knows her stuff and the artwork is beautiful. Her deck and her podcast, Fortune's Wheelhouse, that she does with T. Susan Chang have been instrumental resources for me. The Mary-El is another deep dive deck that I adore.

I have the photography version of Somnia tarot and love it. Definitely a top ten. The images are so strong and evocative. Pagan Otherworlds is another top ten for me. I have the Wildwood tarot which is similar to Druid Craft, same artist. The Wildwood has lots of animals and all the court cards are animals. Great book, as well. Definitely a top five deck for me. Seen so many positive reviews of Terra Volatile that I think I’ll go for it. The book looks scrumptious. Thank you so much for this vid, beautiful decks/great choices.

What a brilliant collection of decks! Though you did miss out the Slow Tarot which is my personal #1 (you wouldn't like the cardstock though - more slippy linen). I have also preordered the latest version of the Terra Volatile & am looking forward to having it in my hands later in the year. I really want the Earth Magick deck and will hopefull get it next time I go to the US. And yes, The Wisdom of the Shadow deck is my go to oracle deck. I'm not much for oracle decks but this one is something special! And, of course, I have the Druidcraft Tarot which is in a class all of its own.

Tarrochi I have the Vintage version and 100% that would be on my top 10.
A lot of these decks you’ve shown I love but don’t have the funds for now hahaha 🤣 but Terra volatile & Somnia Tarot (especially the illustrated one, not a big fan of the photo one) I’m definitely putting on my wishlist for very soon 😂.

I learned Thoth years ago, but hated the deck. A few years ago I chopped off those borders and now I love the deck. I have both sizes. I also like big decks.
