I have a 2013 Ford Focus SE, the transmission light just came on and it won't hardly do 40mph. Is my transmission toast? ANY chance that it could just need fluid?
My only question is… in normal automatic transmissions you have to run the engine to allow the fluid to fully distribute through the valves and torque converter. Usually you have to also check the fluid level while vehicle is running. Is this the case with the 2015 Ford Focus SE? I changed mine added fluids while level and ran fine for a while but the problems came back shortly after.
Hi thanks for your informative videos but please how many litres in total should you fill your transmission to? I heard 5litres from some guys and the manual says 1.8ltrs...I changed mine but I feel the transmission is slow at shifting and it drags before shifting to high gears. Thank you
I might be wrong, someone please correct me if I’m wrong. But typically most transmission old fluid you can transfer it back to your transmission using a filter(typically Honda’s are done like that) So my advice would be use your old transmission oil but top it off with some new one.
@@Bryansaloser oh wow. I never thought so. Because I m sure the filter of whatever fineness of draining will never be able to get our the grains and dirt and especially the discoloration
The fluid you put in is very dark, i thought new fluid is red. Anyway is it the same scenario for the 2.0l titanium X model with manual transmission? My gears are very stiff to engage been told to change oil in gearbox
@@rustynail9793 i ended up getting an independent company to check car. They put in report car was defective so I got to choose another car with all my finance cleared. Start as a new customer, result lol
This video is missing an important detail. You should add fluid when the vehicle is running!!! Went to check my fluid level due to hard shifts, and way too much fluid started flowing out of the transmission. Hope this saves someone time and energy.
Why the hell was he making so hard to get to I'm a woman how am I supposed to unscrew that tire take it out and all that dumb s*** just to add some fuel. How upsetting!

Yeah tcm goes bad easily has a reservice on it 150k miles or 10 years
You can also use the breather tube under the air box.

Ford has a recall on I think it was 2016-2018 with a manual transmission. The trans has issues
