Just did this today had to split the crankcase and replace the crankshaft. Top end is good. Prier owner never greased the needle cage bearing on the clutch drum and worn a taper at the end of crankshaft in which it caused the clutch drum to wobble really bad and sliced through the oil pump. Also a Stihl 036 but the earlier model. No decompression on it. This is my second 036 im doing. Reinstalled crankshaft and new crank bearings along with crank seals today. Just waiting on new clutch assembly and oil pump now. These are great saws! 62 cc i used these saws for 10 years logging in my youth. Also have 92CC 660 Stihl and husky 262 xp, Stihl 046 magnum 77cc All great saws!
