Wonder what the bluing would of looked like after the casings were bolted together. Normally you have to take a straight edge find the high spots and feather them in. You would think that they would be true if done on a machine. Interrupted cut can throw it off? Seen it done on a throttle valve body for an HP turbine. Some old man, came in with his 9 inch grinder and starting grinding on the machined surface, lots of people yelling stop. So we bolted the body together, then took it apart and the contact was about 70% after the grinding it was 90% pretty cool when your 18 and you see this happen and you have no idea what the heck is going on.
