@erickmoralvocal8586 During the Black Friday event, I picked up every single Valve game ever made for like $15. Half-Life plus all its expansions plus Half-Life 2 with both of its episodes are something I would definitely grab. Portal and Portal 2 as well. You can also pick up Jet Set Radio for like 8 bucks. It depends on what you're into, but the odds are good if there's a game you used to really enjoy from the Xbox 360 generation till today that it's available on steam, and normally it's on sale.
You basically NEVER buy anything at full price on Steam. The store is set up to encourage sales, so you should always wishlist it and pick it up when they notify you it's discounted. I made the mistake of buying Titanfall 2 at the cost of $50, only for it to go on sale the following week for like $4. Google "is there any deal website." Always check them for the best deal, too. You'd be surprised how many brand new releases get discounted as well. I got Wukong on the day it came out for like 15% off thanks to that website.
      Happy PC gaming bud.

This is brilliant IMO. As someone who’s been incredibly late to the steam deck but loving it, one of the biggest pain points is how to play on a 65” TV. Yes, I know technically it’s quite easy to get a dock and do it but it’s obvious lack of power makes it much less than ideal than existing consoles. If steam can address this with a powerful local option or server-side streaming option, it’d be a no brainer purchase for me!

Just to be clear, all steam machines sold had steam is 1.0 or 2.0 which was based on Debian Linux. The OEMs selling steam machines also sold them without the steam machine brand as regular pcs running windows. The main issue for the steam machine was lack of native Linux games. This has been mostly resolved with the Proton compatibility layer used on steam os 3.0 which is based on Arch Linux instead of Debian.

My opinion might be all over the place but hear me out. Valve tried making a “console” in 2015 and it crashed and burned getting discontinued in just 3 years. However, I think the market was way different back then and as long as it’s semi upgradable it might have a very small chance of competing with the big 3. However, it will not be able to keep up with Xbox/PlayStation/Nintendo if Valve just relies on their store front and doesn’t have any exclusive games. My reason for this is that without exclusives a lot of consumers are gonna ask themselves “why do I need it when my Xbox/PlayStation/Nintendo can download most of the same games”.

If valve can produce a powerful enough platform in a simple design, with simple settings for users and most importantly: MAKE DEVELOPER'S OPTIMIZE FOR THE HARDWARE
Then I'd be more interested to try that alongside my playstation.
