Well done Gordy, getting better all the time. With that your confidence will grow and you’ll become even better. Sorry to hear about your loss.Get out and ride 👍👍👍👍
Those trails look really nice, if it’s Chopwell I will have to head up for a visit! If you know Hamsterley and ride it often head there and smash a few laps for a comparison, it’s no good going somewhere you have hit a few times and expect a shock to turn you into Danny H…. Nice vid though, keep it up👍🏼
You did fantastic on that last trail! 👌🏻 less talking isn't a bad thing. It allows you to concentrate more on the trail and less braking gives you more flow and you're more likely to skip over stuff you usually get hung up on! Nice shock too mate, I prefer my coil over air shocks.
If the new shock gives you a feeling of more confidence then it’s working! I focussed more on improving my upper body strength this year, especially shoulders and grip strength and it’s made a huge difference when it comes to feeling more in control of the bike and not being thrown around especially on chuckier trails. Maybe have a look at that next, putting work in off the bike is just as important as on the bike
i'm actually 6 weeks into a weight program, not ridden for over 4 weeks now though (family death) so cant say how i feel on bike at moment. hopefully i feel the benefits when i'm riding again!!. hope the new mag is going well mate!!!
Proper bit of kit that coil shock! Il tell you now, if you put the air shock back on - you will notice the difference. Deffo take it down bone shaker with the taps open! Be like riding on Aladdin’s carpet!
@ I stuck my float x2 back on the KSL when I went to morzine as I wanted the coil on the Cruz, and straight away I noticed the different on the spesh, it felt like the back end was skipping over small bumps. Loyal to the coil now Gordy 🤝
Nice shock the TTX. It would seem that the whole better gear, better rider, placebo effect is working out for you. I'm still on my Fox performance suspension that came on my team edition stereo hybrid with the addition of a bigger spacer in the shock to compensate for the fact i was blowing through the travel on hard hits. After today's ride on the blacks at Pitmedden i may need to add a few tokens to the fork as well! Before you purchased the shock, had you considered trying a shock wiz? Great piece of kit you can easily adapt to your riding style to tune your suspension. used a mates on both bikes and it made a noticeable difference to the feel and handling of both bikes 😎
It’s all physiological with you like! Nothing wrong with your cranks or rear suspension! And that excuse you always take a while to get into it! You are t going fast enough to know the difference at any shock 😅
Hi Gordy, after reading a load of marketing hype you understandably expect a big impact for ya money. I did the same with swapping Rockshox 35 on a turbo levo for Fox 38s (aye a bit embarrassing). The simple fact was I wasn’t riding hard enough and of course my technique was garbage. A year on I am relatively flying as you will be and the upgrade will pay off. My 38s are probs still too good for me but at least I can’t blame them!
Well done the last run looked a lot better 👍

The suspension you had would of been more that suitable for your style of riding
i was decent rear shock, felt not bad too, but why not upgrade if i can? i'll grow into better suspension lol

Your cranks are fine bud its technique.
Learn how to optimise the over run.
