Back to Nature from Trail Days

Appalachian Trail 2024 thru hike attempt. I shuttled back to Massie Gap from Damascus, and enjoyed laying in the sun for a bit relaxing to the sights and sounds of nature. Saw a horse kick a little girl (she was scared but unhurt) and almost got stampeded by a Colt chasing a mare. Essentially hiked only a couple miles to set up camp and enjoy sausage cooked over a camp fire. Heaven to be back.

Awesome day! I didn't get to go to Trail Days on my hike because I was in the Whites getting my ass kicked. Was post-holing for much of it. The heat's coming bro . . . Gonna change the mental game a bit! Loving that hammock setup! 🤘🕓

Yellow blazing in that truck? 😂 kidding but the filming was great.
I thought I wanted to go to traildays for vendors & see people but it looks too crowded & like the many Mardigras & outdoor concerts I’ve been to. I still do blues festivals but done w/ all the other. I’m a grandma & the parents can take those kids or I’ll babysit. 😂
Hope the little girl that got kicked is okay. A horse can be dangerous if you don’t respect them.

NO yellow blazing. We left off at Grayson Highlands and needing shuttling back to that spot. Damascus is 472 mile and we lower off at 502.3.
