Damn, I've got all the poncho boxes still sealed, but I purchased them when they were released @ $50. Going to bring some to collect a con this weekend, will definitely let the people know it only exchanged hands from Japan to me once, and it's been in my collection ever since. But yeah, you did the right thing of having it opened on camera. If they have doubts, I'll definitely let them open it right then and there.
yeab i am gonna purchase one of them mario pikachu boxes from an actual japanese card shops i know for a while and a good friend who owns like 5 big shops in tokyo and kyoto. He's got a ton of ponchos and other card i am gonna buy and sell from him.... but his mario box is definately not a resealed.
Still have my two sealed boxes together with the original receipt from my purchase in Japan back when these boxes were released. Nuts how there was so low demand for them back then and they were just sitting on the shelves.
I do have the 4 poncho legit sealed boxes and you can already see, just with the first picture that the seal is not right. The folds on the sides do not match the original ones and if you check 11:32, the long side also has a very crisp and thick seal line. Its a real pity because I think both boxes you opened, are very easy to spot and would have saved a lot of time for the parties involved on that deal. Its never fun to pay for fake things even if you get a refund.
Hey man, enjoying the videos! When your selling each item, do you think you could make a small mention of what the item is selling for before you shake on the transaction or something? It's sometimes hard to hear how much the people offered, like for the Flareon Vmax for example Would be a nice addition perhaps to just give the camera a quick glimpse of the card and state what you agreed upon :) Cheers
Hey! I’ll try and do it more often but a lot of times I forget because I’m either busy with multiple transactions or it just slips my mind. If I do forget in the future, I’ll just put the price down below using text
at a certain point you're gonna have to get Authorities involved with these people. You always get these scammers and its NEVER "their fault" its bullshit
We didn’t have a proven authentic side by side with us unfortunately. There’s definitely a way, like the way the seal is done, to the weight and plastic around the box
Curious what you mean by they got it from PWCC, but yet are somehow in contact with the previous seller. Unless the previous seller originally got them at auction from Pwcc?
So PWCC dont have their own authenticator to authentic those items they gonna auction? There is a recent case for Ebay where their authenticator authentic a Michael jordan label PASSED sold to a buyer then ask the buyer to send back for review authentic and found it fake.
@@nickydoggy81 the Jordan situation is a bit different just because eBay authentication only authenticates whether the label is real or not, and the Beckett label was real. Beckett then realized that they mistakenly didn’t label the Jordan as altered. As far as how PWCC authenticates, I’m not entirely sure but the track record for these companies aren’t 100% accurate at all
At what point tho can you get your money back...lets say i think i have a legit box...and i sell it and then at a card show it appears the person i sold to has a fake box...and hes friend with someone whos in the community and has alot of ponchos too...obviously not blaming you or anything im jus saying i think as a seller you can make a case too...unless you make a video from when the damn amazon guy gives it to you lol or w.e at what point can you still get a refund instead of getting countered with "how do i know you didnt scam it yourself and now want your money back" is double dipping just as prevalent as usual scamming? where someone buys a real item and then opens it , takes what he wants, reseals it and then claims its fake on camera? Im speaking all in theory ig
The dudes not even looking at the guy opening. They are def. on it. Anyone who owns something expensive wants to see it opened, ESPECIALLY a poncho box.

When they opened it and plastic was all crinkly, right away that is a telltale sign of a resealed box
Yup! totally agree

Honestly it’s better they were opened now and on camera than 10 years down the line as a sealed fake
Dude wish I could find those van goph pikachus for under 80 a piece.. love those man but they sell for nearly 100+ on ebay

Saw the last vid too, but what exactly is contained in a real poncho box? Is it multiple cards or something? Great vid as always
It's just the poncho promo, 5 packs, sleeves, and a deck box. The main value is the Poncho promo pack
Did you compare the poncho seals to an authentic box? Is there any way to tell a legit from a counterfeit one?
We didn’t have a proven authentic side by side with us unfortunately. There’s definitely a way, like the way the seal is done, to the weight and plastic around the box
The box is legitimate, but it is resealed. You need to look at the shrink wrap and know where the source is coming from
Curious what you mean by they got it from PWCC, but yet are somehow in contact with the previous seller. Unless the previous seller originally got them at auction from Pwcc?
