Please ensure when purchasing any type of slabs or raw cards to perform your due diligence to avoid purchasing a fake/proxy card! I was lucky this time and was saved by the PSA app.

Everyone knows the first and most important step into buying and collecting PSA graded cards. Is relying on the PSA website or app to check the certification numbers, way before buying the card from anyone. He most definitely knew what he had and what he was doing. You guys are awesome for showing us who he is. It’s truly sad that this hobby brings the worst out of people.

It’s actually an ignorant thing to say that is dude is 100% guilty. Card looked very real. PSA will deactivate certs like this when a card is faked. For all we know this guy had been posting his card on ig or someone who owned it before him did the same and someone faked the cert. When that becomes known to psa they will deactivate the cert. The original real owner just has to send the card in to psa and get it re-slabbed and re-certed. This is why people who post high end slabs cover the cert (so they don’t have to deal with other people faking their card). This guy had a ton of other heat that were scanned and checked and legit. It’s very possible this dude is a victim yet everyone throwing around scammer like they know anything.

@@KronosCollectsbro this would be so fucked up if you did that. So many cards are faked nowadays for high end. PSA deactivates certs all the time when it becomes know that a card was faked. The original owner then has to send it in for a fresh cert. This guy could be that guy. It happens all time which is why people block certs on socials. I vend. Was buying from another vendor. This guy had a ton of high end, but turns out his psa 9 poncho was deactived. To call him a scammer is a joke - his gold star rays all his other ponchos and gold stars legit. Clearly his card was faked due to him posting on his socials. This dude could very well just be a victim. All these people psycho analyzing his behavior is wild. Also this dudes other heat was legit so got to give some credit there.

@@Esoterik_NW that could very well be the case, however there are a lot of indications within the video that possibly say otherwise. First when made aware that I was looking for the specific card, he didn’t outright say he had it, almost like he thought about showing it to me, and even then, why didn’t he have it with all his more expensive slabs in that brown case? Why keep it separate? Also his body language shifts as I say I’m gonna scan it, not after I say it’s fake almost like he knew. Plenty of other indicators in the video as well that led me to believe that he knew he was selling a counterfeit card. Give it a rewatch and let me know what you think after!

I was uncertain if he knew even looking at his body language after mentioning you were going to scan it he was clearly alerted to a degree but what really sold it for me and fully convinced me that he knew it was fake when he was trying to sell it you is the fact that he came back and said he still sold it. Like you said if he was going to attempt to get his money back from PayPal or his credit card company he would need to provide picture evidence minimally if not send the entire product back like you said. The reality is there likely isn’t a transaction on his PayPal for thousands of dollars he’s trying to have refunded. He in fact probably made money selling it to a local vendor for $80 and that scummy vendor will then turn around and sell it as if it were real to an unsuspecting customer. Anyone with that much money in cards knows how to scan and check if a graded card is authentic. If it was an honest mistake, I wouldn’t be begging them to remove the footage, I would be advocating for them to share it so others aren’t swindled or duped like he was claiming to have been.

I think these guys were possibly working together. You had an earnest buyer show up and say he's got cash on hand ready to go if you had the card. Now the seller shows up and hes got the exact card you need to make a quick sell. It's hook, line, and sinker right there.
He fumbles around and isn't sure, pulls it out and what do you know, he's got a PSA 10 ready to go.
The second part of the scam is the cash/trade. He's using the cards to exchange for cash and certified real cards.
The first guy probably scans your inventory and then texts him when they have a hit they can use. Then they exchange the fake for a real card and sell those.

Did the first guy ever swing by the stall again at all? I know you said you got his number etc, but in all reality I've seen many videos where scammers are more than happy to hand out their number! I wonder if any other vendors had a similar type of interaction with these two.
Would be "one hell of a coincidence" if the first guy wasn't in on it but I guess it CAN happen.
Second guy was beyond sus and the video ending is more than enough to prove that! I honestly don't know of a human that could be swindled that hard and just get on with life if he had bought the fake. Most folk would have kicked off or at the very least questioned it all a little bit more.

Just a heads up, if the cert number doesnt come up at all, thats one thing. If the cert number is deacitvated, its likely there are TWO out there, one fake and one real.Of course there are instances where PSA makes a mistake and grades the card incorrectly. Usually PSA will want the individual to reach out to them either way.
