    Ukraine attempted an amphibious operation near the Tendra Split, a sandbar in the Black Sea between Kherson and Crimea, where they appear to have been repelled by Russian forces. Russia reports that a group of small craft manned by special operations forces approached the split but were repelled by Russian soldiers. One Ukrainian servicemember was captured and has since appeared on camera discussing the operation.
    We have a former Ukrainian officer giving his take on the current battlefield and what he expects to play out going forward. More Russian aircraft were shot down which highlights the dilemma they currently face in Ukraine.
    A few leaks this week show Russian nuclear plans which outline their criteria for a nuclear first strike as well as the fact that they’ve war-gamed a Chinese invasion. Then a report highlights the contents of the 2022 peace talks and what Russia was expecting from Ukraine.

      Poor Ukranian solder continued to be sent for suicidal mission including the recent boat raids and the ongoing Krynky supposedly "Bridge head" for no military value but PR stunt for foolish Kieve regime who care s more about public imaging than the solders' lives. All Ukrainian claim of Russian airplanes shot down without evidence are deemed propaganda BS (again to boost up morale) and to be treated with mockery and sarcasm. If Ukranians are telling truth Russuans would have run out of ammunitions and manpower long time ago, only fight with shovels and washingmachins over last 18 months. It's amazing how shovels and washing machines can defeat NATO-backed Ukraine. 😂😂😂😂

    Ya, another treaty ensuring their safety with Russia and the US as supporting members... Given how the last somewhat similar thing went when they gave up their Nuclear weapons... First, they didn't have command and control of 'their' nuclear weapons. Second, things were okay between Russia and the Ukraine for years after the signing of this minor part of a wider arms control framework. The Ukraine got cheap gas from the RF. Tens if not hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians worked in the RF...which had about twice the per capita GDP as the Ukraine. This continued well into Putins rule. Only NATO and EU expansion plus the growth of hard-line nationalism in the Ukraine led to a deterioration of the relationship.

      The US never gave Ukraine security guarantees. A very common misconception. Also Ukraine only technically had nukes. They couldn't launch or maintain them. They had more of a nuclear accident problem than an arsenal. Here is the clause in the Budapest memorandum that the US signed. It require them to go to the security council in the event that Ukraine is made the target of a nuclear attack. So they went beyond the needs of the treaty, well beyond when they went to the security council for a conventional war and then supplied them with unprecedented assistance. "Seek immediate Security Council action to provide assistance to the signatory if they "should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used".".

    • @MrWWIIBuff
      @MrWWIIBuff 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The issue for these aircraft specifically, is they require materials not domestically available and sanctioned against. They probably can still make parts, but higher tech aircraft require higher tech parts.
      Aircraft have always been a problem for Russia. Hell, their civilian airplanes had to he grounded for a while because they imported all their engines from Poland.
      Not saying they are going to run out in the near term. Even the article he referenced didn't argue that. Just that by 2025, assuming loss rates remain similar would represent a 10-20% degradation of Russia's aerial capabilities.

    • @Maniac742

      The Russian war machine has spent the last year and a half spooling up while the western munitions factories haven't done anything at all. Even if we passed a $200 billion aid package today, there is nowhere for Ukraine to buy artillery shells from, because we aren't even making them. The same is true for aircraft parts, missiles, engines, and repair equipment. Russia is making them, and we ain't. The Russian air force might not be able to hold out this level of sorties in the long term, but in the short to medium term, they can do it in spades, and that's probably all they'll need at this point. It's unlikely Russia will take all of Ukraine, but they'll achieve enough victories to force an unfavorable peace agreement for Ukraine.

    This doesn't mean that it's not worth the try or that the sacrifices are in vain. Ukraine is outmanned, so they're going to have to take some risks from time to time. People tend to forget Belarus and Kazakhstan also had nuclear weapons and they signed this document. Again when we violated this, we said since it's not a treaty but a memorandum which we had no legal obligations to follow it. We made sure it was a useless piece of paper because at the time had zero interest in ever fighting Russia to save Ukraine, Belarus, or Kazakhstan. We just wanted 3 less countries having nuclear weapons. I'll note in return we did provide some financial support to these countries.

    I have to say, that the picture is also bleak, because ukrainians didn’t learn or forgot the lesson how to build defensive line, especially when having less artillery and men. They had this in Avdiivca and a bit in Bakhmut. And survived 100 times russian artillery dominance.
    Now they really knew about the artillery output in Europe being 10 times lower than what they consumed. Also trying to outpace the russian artillery led to this shortages. The offensive last year was unnecessary if the resources came in too late. Leaving age of recruits over 27 up to the last moment, even knowing how long it takes to form units, it’s also a sign of bad management.

    While all your points as to the exhaustion and depleting of capabilities of the Russian air force stand, you also need to take into account the production of new aircraft, which has reportedly increased. Binkov Battlegrounds has a good video on this, he estimates that Russia has built around 40 new aircraft in 2023. Production numbers for 2022 were obviously lower (although I can't remember the exact estimate Binkov made, I think it was 20 something), but this goes to show that Russia is successfully increasing production. The last time Russia built around 40 aircraft per year was pre-2014 (before the sanctions). It is also interesting that in 2023 Russia has reportedly lost 21-23 aircraft which were either shot down or damaged beyond repair according to Binkov's estimate (might be off by a few aircraft, again I don't remember exactly), meaning they had a net positive change in the number of aircraft in the past year. But my point is that any newly built aircraft should be added into the equation as well, rather than just taking 2021 numbers minus the reported losses, and once we do this it does paint a much less grim picture from the Russian perspective.

    I want to know the availability rates in the VVS right now
    This number probably isn’t even known fully by Russia or the VVS due to its fluidity and the fact that the Ukraine theatre doesn’t feature the whole jet fleet, so you can cycle planes around from other bases
    But it’s very interesting to wonder due to Russian infamously short spare parts lifetimes, I’d love to know the ratio of ‘known destroyed, unknown destroyed, unavailable’ as the casualty count to think about

    Russians send 2 weeks trained troops to frontlines, yet, they keep moving...
    Russians have 500.000 losses and ukraine only 30.000 yet ukraine is moving back and needs to mobilise...
    Russians are sanctionned and isolated, yet they still keep up.
    Russians lost 90% of equipements, yet russia is still fighting.
    I just don't understand.

    • @Warfoki
      @Warfoki 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Russia has 70 years worth of stockpiles to burn through, Ukraine does not. That's what this boils down to. Russia then adds more decades old stockpiles from North Korea and Iran, while the west got rid of those stockpiles in the 90s, since "hey, Cold War is over, we don't need all these warehouses full of munitions, it's not like anybody will attack us anymore", so they have to scramble to put together even a fraction what would truly be needed from mostly newly made stuff. The EU does not have the production lines to supply a full-on active war, since the European military industry complex has been running on counterinsurgency needs since the early 2000s., meanwhile the US is in a political quagmire that dried up that supply line.

      Russia has, according to western analysts, 500.000 losses and ukraine, according to ukraine 30.000 (Ukraine might want to conceal a higher causality figure due to trying to mobilize some of the refugees in other countries fleeing Russia). Russia is sanctioned*, although White Russia (Or Belarus) has favorable trade with them and so does China. And it is likely that more countries have. Russia have mercs in Africa even after Wagner. Russia has lost 90% of equipment according to western analysts.
      Those figures isn't the truth, but they are a biased observation. Western analysts might want to see a weaker Russia, and Ukraine wants to be stronger than they are and Russia have cooperation partners that don't care about the sanctions.

      Sourcing the materials and components. Sanctions restricted their access to the global market that they were able to leverage for the more advanced chips needed for modern aircraft. It’s not entirely cut off but a big change from pre-war

      Russian jets use a lot of parts that are outsourced from other countries. Their civilian airline industry is falling apart as well. Even if they could get all the parts that they want, they just don't have the production capacity to meet the current requirement.
      It's kind of Similar to their current shortage of gasoline. They have tons of crude oil but with their refineries going off line recently they've had to stop exporting gasoline.
