Just been watching your video and almost fell off my seat as I heard my name in reference to the Quad boards. Darren, I do watch your channel and I was paying attention lol

I knew you'd like the quad PCBs from your excellent videos on the PCBs you experimented with. I do watch a lot of TH-cam but not a big commenter, I must admit. Daz

Great stash there, especially the larger power supply. I don't know if there is a radio club near to me I must find out. Thank you for sharing.

Always good to find something new, Terry Hopefully find some uses for the stash. Searching "RSGB radio clubs" is one way of finding your local clubs. Daz

Happiness is going through a bin full of old electronic parts. Each a story and history, and some have a vintage component smell.

Nice show and tell Daz, some good stuff there.
The Roberts PU609 won't fit the Roberts RFM3 as (you found out) the barrel is too deep on the radio, and the jack is too short... Roberts also did a PU9 - this has a longer jack... marketing, sales, & profiteering eh?...
The Megatron is a selenium photocell. It's a metal disc coated with selenium on which is placed a layer of gold or platinum thin enough to transmit light. When light falls on the disc a small current is generated, indicating the intensity of light that is falling on the cell. They are commonly used in camera exposure meters...
Hope to catch you at one of the up and coming BVWS meets...

I was thinking of making an adapter lead to get round the jack issue and as you say that's interesting they had a model with longer jack. Ah thanks, of course I remember the USSR light meter I had, guess same technology as the Megatron I guess. Hopefully I'll get to some events this year, Paul.

Megatron made light meters and colour temperature meters I believe. If you do an image search for "Megatron light meter", you should be able to find some representative models.

Well you have got some bits and bobs to play with :-D
Ahh the round pot resistors, i remember them in old tv sets and gobbed on to the baretta dropper where one section had gone poof lol.
No plasters on your thumbs, you have to torture your hands to show you have been busy :-D.
The wooden box, throw a radio in it or small 1 Amp variable split psu for small circuits testing.
Or just restore it to a signal gen.
I'm worn out just thinking about it, i need to scald a teabag :-D
    Tea is the brain lubrication.
    Keep tinkering darren :-D.

Yes, I need to have some more rough marks to show I've been having little accidents LOL. It's surprising how PCBs can bite! Cheers Daz

That Megatron unit is a Light Sensor possibly Selenium.

3:22 That solar disk may have been uses as a remote sensor on a microfilming table or other photography in lieu of a photoelectric cell. I have an Art Deco-styled Gossen Foot Candle Light Meter with a probe which looks similar in size.
