    Wow, that's a spartan radiogram. Really built on a cost but still a lot of metal and wood. These days it would be all plastic.
    Great job on the restoration. Really nice to see another video of yours. 👍

      Thankyou. I hope to make another video soon. Yes it's really a basic radiogram, but I understand a simple to operate radiogram was called for at the time. It's sturdy built though. At least it's more sustainable than plastic! And of course gives better tone to the speaker. Daz

    Hi Darren, looks like the original spec from Alba was to produce a radiogram. with the lowest grade components available. The plastic BSR TT was a good start. I must admit it sounded slightly better than I thought it might.

      It's a budget gram, but did surprisingly well. The large cabinet helps I guess. Typical germanium and silicon line up of the era often found in big radios like my grundig concert boy. Good to hear from you, Michael. Daz

      @@MichaelBeeny Hi Michael, I've had many issues with my elderly mother and been starting a new relationship. There are many incomplete videos and i have had PC issues. Hopefully I'll solve these issues and get a video up soon. Good to see you have made some interesting videos yourself again. Kind regards Daz.

    Thank god ..A Great video that is really interesting Just done a BSR UA 8 The dirt that washed off, i stripped the whole thing and washed the mechanism with warm oxy wash it still needed 2 washes..Thank you for showing this deck never seeen one exactly like it..Strange how it works the record sizes, Still automatic not like the later ones ..Great job Darren Brilliant video as always ..Hope you are keeping well ....

      I'm glad you enjoyed the video, I did make it longer than normal this time. It's amazing how much dust and stuff that grease attracts. I must admit the deck isn't one I've seen either but is similar to the BSR in the Ferguson stereo minor with the 10 inch sensor. Hope your keeping well too and I have to look at the ua8 video. I'm quite busy with mother at the moment, but hopefully calm down soon. Daz

      Hello Darren ..The video was great . Please keep sending them always like how you make them..I find the old BSR decks are usually straight forward to fix unlike the weird deck fitted to my HMV radiogram .. Mind you they are nothing compaired with some VCR's i have looked at ..Best of luck with your mum And thanks again
      Colin.

    Nice job, those decks are tricky to get just right. Cabinet looks nice too.

      thanks. I didn't have much hope for the cabinet, but it looks ok now. I varnished the underneath to stop it flaking too. Daz

    These were cheap but they did the job I have rebuilt lots of these BSR decks and they were made to last I have never had one worn out

      @darrencoe5795  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you. Yes, they are sturdy decks and I think cheap wasn't the same as today's cheap as there is still a lot of metal in the deck. Daz

    1969. The BSR deck mech gives it away.
    Bsr slightly changed that auto mech in mid 1970 for lighter tracking during engagement of the velocity trip.

    Wow, that is a real poverty spec radiogram, no FM & mono 🤣
    It certainly needed a lot of work, I hope the owner is going to give it regular use!

      FM still was a luxury in early 70s, it seems. Rob tells me this was a secondary radiogram for his mother as the main one was too complex to operate. I can understand from my own mother's dislike of menus and multifunction controls. Yes, by fitting a Bluetooth option I hope it gets used more. Daz
