After getting used to the stiffer Sailor & Montblanc nibs, I couldn't get accommodated to Pelikan m1000. Very reliable piston filler, with option to change nib units ourselves.
They are both awesome pens. I have many many more 149s compared to any other pens. However, I can see how M1000 can be a better fit for some hands. I like them equally, but enjoy the variety of nibs offered by MB. I am sure you’ll love it! Chears.
Sorry to keep writing comments but as I watch, I have so many questions as I learn. When you get a new pen, is there an accepted protocol to go through to give a better chance of longevity? I know most people are so excited to get the pen, we just ink it up and go. But do you suggest cleaning first, & is there anything to "break in" the nib/pen correctly? Sorry know these are newbie questions but I don't see any information like this which I find helpful. Even things like how to keep, clean, & upkeep your pens. Most YTers are just making content on "new ones" etc but no real substance about the hobby. I find your channel above all provides a mix of everything which is lovely. Thanks!
Thank you! I typically ink it up and go for it. TBH, the whole flushing it etc is a ritualistic mumbo jumbo..... that's is rarely needed. So, no mandatory clean up needed on a new pen. Exception are new old stock pens that may need greased.
@@Shak-MD awesome! Obviously the benefit of Japanese manufacturing is attention to detail and quality control so sense. Wasn't sure about the other brands I had a bad experience with FPR of the box. Ink literally pouring out of the nib after filling it up and customer service basically accusing me if I had unscrewed the converter or didn't regrease everything before using 🤷🏻♂️
@ArthurPhillip7 FPR pens are a joke. Their 14k ultra flex is super soft but useless day to day. I have had it sitting around. .... doing nothing. It doesn't get a turn in my collection of pens.
@@Shak-MD in this case the steel is actually better than the gold ones. Might try and put in the Asvine200. Trying to email you through channel but can't find "about" section where the email would be.
Nice nib, ink and writing exercise. Looks like fun Shak … enjoy it!
It was, Thank you Dimitri!
Grail pen!!
The writing, the design, the color, the nib engraving, everything...
Pelikan knows how to make smooth and wet nibs for sure!
Absolutely worthy Grail pen. I am working on a review of the demonstrator m1005. :) The fine nib is absolutely amazing on m1000.
A good ink window too!
Fabulous wet nib. It looks very enjoyable to write with.
Many thanks!

That nib sounds beautiful!
I really like the music too :) . Luckily, this one doesn't "sing".
I love it too. It does take a while to get accustomed to its flex though. But what a pleasure to write with it !
Completely agree. It is so easy to destroy this nib though. I have one out of commission EF M1000. I'll have to get someone to try fixing it.
My favorite nib 🙂
What type of french-ruled paper is this? Looks amazing for writing
Clairefontaine 90 gsm Séyès ruled paper. I love it.
@@Shak-MD thank you most kindly.
Grail for me too. I am comparing it to the Montblanc 149 but I like the body design/style of the Pelikan. Mine is on order. 😋

I find calm in cursive ❤️
Very nice! Looks like Fine is a nice choice for this model. Very wet. I couldn't make out the full quote?
Thanks! Quote is: "When a measure becomes the target, it ceases to be a good measure." It's known as the Goodhart law.
I love my M1000. Can’t wait to get some 146 and 149 MB’s and see how I like them compared to the M1000.
