Drew, you are awesome. Best X32-Guide for me. We started with X32 in our church 7years ago, now we are doing all kind of Services, concerts, Streaming, Videos - in the house and on the road. Behringer equipment helped us a lot, and Drews helpful Videos.
From reading the comments, I figured out how to get my vocal reverb out to the P16. Here’s my settings: 1) Vocal Channel Strip > sends > FX13 > effects bus 13 > into reverb > FX Rack 1&2. 2) Vocal Channel Strip > sends > MixBus 3 > to P16M 3) FX Rack 1&2 > Sends > MixBus 3 > to P16M 4) P16M Routing on the X32, I set the Category to MixBus, Output Signal to MIxBus 3 (instead of direct out), and tap to pre fader.
Thanks for all videos Drew you have been a lifesaver with these videos. I have learned pretty much the x32 watching dbb audio and even purchased the preset library from you its been great thanks again
Hi Drew, One other question, I was considering getting a P16 to give me more stereo IEM outputs but don't like using the P16 Controls. Can I use the iPad app to control the P16 mix? Thanks
Hi Drew! 1. Wing to P16 configuration and tap points please. Do I have same amount of tap points for P16 from Wing as with x32? If so, how do I get them going. (I can't seem to find them) 2. Also can you please explain how to pink out and eq the room using the oscillator, mic and RTA on the Wing? You made a similar video on how to do this on the X32 (on the behringer TH-cam channel). And I tried to do the same thing on the Wing but wasn't able to send pink noise to the mains (just like on the X32) and after a while I just got a bit lost on the whole process, so it will help a lot if you guide us once again. Thank you so much in advance, Drew!
Hello Drew, Thank you for all your posts. I'm new to the digital world of digital stage boxes . Currently, I've joined a praise team band and they are using the Behringer 16 in ear monitor system. However, I'm connected to one of the units, and I can hear everything that coming through, but unfortunetly, I cannot hear myself. I'm using a POD HD500X for my guitar imput. Somehow, I'm not able to hear my guitar input, but I can hear everyone else. Do you have any clues as to why not? Reggie
We just finished up our p16 IEM setup. Our mains are Turbosound iQ10s on ultranet ch 15 & 16. Is there anyway to "open up" Ch outputs 15 & 16 on the Ultranet out so we can use ALL channel selects on the P16Ms? Thank you sooooo much for your videos! They have helped us out a lot!
Thanx Drew for lot of knowledge you are giving us! awesome! I would like to ask thou, is it possible to use Ultranet as a "input splitter". Situation I'm facing many times is: I need to provide few (lets say up to 16) of my inputs to broadcast guy. Usually we do it using external splitters, as he is doing his own mix on his own analog console. I can add addition stagebox and use its outputs to direct out desired inputs to him but only up to 8. Ultranet seems to be more appropriate for this task, as I can direct out up to 16 channels this way. But how can I get all of those 16 channels from Ultranet? P16 only have 1 output. Is there any "box" which can output all 16 channels without any of p16 processing (basically RAW signal which is given to Ultranet by x32)?
I'm using a x32, s16 and p16 stagebox. I did the update to fw4.1 and it has routed the s16 outputs to the p16 outputs and I can't find anyway to change it. I have copied your settings exactly and I can either get outputs to the p16 or s16. Not both. I can't find anything about this anywhere. PLEASE HELP we are really struggling without our P16s. Currently I am bussing everything to mixbuses 1-6 with the master channels on 7+8 to get the P16s to work. It is also sending our effects buses to 13-16 on the p16s. HELP HELP HELP
Hey I need help routing my Ableton live out to the X32. I have channels 1-16 going to Ableton live for recording. But I’m having trouble getting 17-26 to play the tracks from Ableton.
I’m considering taking an aux and routing it physically to a channel and routing that to channel 16 on my pm16. That way I’ll have access to all inputs via my iPad and remote software without having to permanently assign a source. I’ve had issues being able to monitor late minute added microphones. If there’s another way I’m curious. Thanks for what you do.
I actually have a video coming up soon about this very thing! I set up a pre-fader mix and have that routed down one of the P16 outputs. I use this for getting some stereo channels down to mono to maximize what is available on the P16 for the musicians. I call them Flex Channels and typically will set up 4 of them.
More info on how to route reverb to the P16-M: This is what I wrote to ChatGPT: I have the Behringer X32 Producer digital mixer. I recently purchased the Behringer Powerplay P16-M personal mixer. I could use some help in understanding the best way to setup the routing from the X32 Producer to the P16-M and route reverb from my vocal channel to the P16-M as using the direct out routing option isn’t acceptable. thank you. ChatGPT’s response: To set up the routing from the Behringer X32 Producer to the Behringer Powerplay P16-M personal mixer and include reverb from your vocal channel, you need to use the Ultranet routing feature. Here’s a step-by-step guide to achieve this: ### Step 1: Physical Connections 1. **Connect the P16-M to the X32 Producer:** - Use a CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable to connect the P16-M to the Ultranet port on the back of the X32 Producer. ### Step 2: Routing Setup on X32 Producer 1. **Configure the Ultranet Outputs:** - On the X32 Producer, press the `Routing` button. - Navigate to the `Ultranet` tab. - Assign the channels you want to send to the P16-M. You can send direct outs, mix buses, or effects returns to the Ultranet outputs. 2. **Route the Vocal Channel with Reverb:** - Ensure your vocal channel is set up with the reverb you want to send. - Create a mix bus (e.g., Mix Bus 1) dedicated to the P16-M. - Send the vocal channel and the reverb return to this mix bus: - Select the vocal channel, press `Sends on Fader`, and adjust the send level to Mix Bus 1. - Do the same for the reverb return channel. - Make sure Mix Bus 1 is not sent to the main mix if you only want it in the P16-M. ### Step 3: Assign Mix Bus to Ultranet 1. **Assign Mix Bus to Ultranet Channel:** - In the `Routing > Ultranet` tab, assign Mix Bus 1 to one of the Ultranet channels (e.g., Ultranet 1). 2. **Configure P16-M:** - On the P16-M, assign Ultranet 1 to the desired channel on the P16-M. ### Example Routing Configuration: 1. **Ultranet Channels Setup:** - Ultranet 1: Mix Bus 1 (contains vocal + reverb) - Ultranet 2-16: Other channels as needed (e.g., instruments, other vocals). ### Detailed Steps: 1. **Routing > Ultranet Tab:** - Set `Ultranet 1` to `Out 9-16` (assuming Mix Bus 1 is assigned to Out 9). 2. **Out 9-16 Tab:** - Set `Out 9` to `Mix Bus 1`. 3. **Configure Effects Send:** - Select the vocal channel, press `Sends on Fader`. - Adjust the send level to `Mix Bus 1`. 4. **Reverb Return:** - Select the FX return channel, press `Sends on Fader`. - Adjust the send level to `Mix Bus 1`. By following these steps, you should be able to send a mix of your vocal channel with reverb to the P16-M personal mixer without using direct out routing. Adjust the levels as needed on the P16-M for a personalized mix.
I had a fancy idea but no way to test it: Is it possible to provide two separate Ultranets? One via the Ultranet output on the x32 and a second via the AES50 routing of channels 33-48 to the Ultranet output of a stagebox?
Hey thank you for the tutorial you are a great asset to the Kingdom. I have a power play coming out our Utranet of s16. How do I add the Turbosound Speakers in my system? It uses Ultranet of x32
Hi Drew. Thank you very much for your video which is really useful and important for me. I have to ask you something very important: I need to send to the P16M personal mixers, the available channels already summed with the effects, and especially the lead vocals. In fact, lead vocals need to hear their own voice, in the IN Ear Monitor from P16M, complete with the effect (reverb and delay). I can't find this exact setting, as the signals going into the P16M personal mixers are currently without effects. Thanks in advance if you can help me with this problem.
Try sending the signal with the desired effects to a mix bus or matrix and then setting the P16 to take its input from that mix bus or matrix rather than a particular channel. If you don't know how: - Select a Mix Bus (or stereo link a pair of them if you want stereo) - Hit Sends on Fader - Set levels and effects the way you want them going into the Mix Bus, just as if it were a monitor/house speaker - Go to Routing, Ultranet (or P16) - Set an input channel for the P16 to use that Mix Bus as its source
Hi Drew, I appreciate your videos. I just got an x32 Rack and wish I could connect to an MR-18 for the preamps. Is there a way to use the UltraNet out of the MR-18 into the x32? What do you think about the difference in quality between the X32 Rack (Or Producer) preamps and the midas preamps for recording?
I know this is 7 months late, but if you still need it or if anyone else is wondering - no, unfortunately you can't use Ultranet that way. It's unidirectional, meaning the signal can only flow one way in an Ultranet port, and the X32 Rack's port is for output, not input. I do find the Midas preamps have a better S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio though, which means there's noticeably less of that background hiss that exists in all recordings. Better preamps and A/D converters will generally have less noise, meaning you can record quieter sources or turn the gain for channels up more without that hiss becoming overly audible.

Q: Could you explain how the P16 world can connect to monitor speakers such as the turbosound floor monitors? I’m thinking about getting a set of these monitors and am not sure how to route for them.
If we have a S16 or S8 stagebox connected, and are using the P16-D, do we still need to run a cable from the X32 to the stagebox, or can we just connect the P16-D to the stagebox?
I am having an odd issue. I have routed Channel 5 to Channel 7 on the P16... but it doesn't actually show that on the P16. Channel 5 is Channel 5 even though the routing shows differently. What could cause that??? Thank you.
thanks for this drew you have done it so well. can you kindly do the same but with the new dp 48 Midas monitoring system with dl 32 stage box with Midas m 32 live I will appreciate
You said it had to be "shielded" Cat5 or 6 cable in order to power the unit, but what if I don't need it powered (as I'll just use a DC plug) and just want to send the signal? I am planning on using a bunch of P16's in a venue to transmit audio feeds to different rooms, as I will be using 2 XR18's for the mixer in 2 of the main rooms, but will need to transmit audio between rooms in some scenarios. Can't use Dante as there isn't enough budget for it. The building has all Cat5e cable, so no CAT6, and the signal may need to travel up to 80-90m.
You don't need to have shielded if you want to power it with the DC port. But the overall supported length of ultranet is only 80m, so you might end up having some issues with the length you are planning to travel. The shielded lines may help the signal at the maximum length. Hope this helps!
@@DrewBrashler Okay that's good to know. What if I was sending an Ultranet output from the XR18 to a Powerplay P16D Ultranet in the coms room (approx 40m) then send distribute signals from there (max 40m from there)?
You can - it just will not have the PoE (Power over Ethernet). You would just run the P16's as a daisy-chain and each individual P16 must have power nearby. 🙂
Your knowledge on the sound board is undiluted Drew....You keep pushing us to the right path of understanding...more grease on your elbow Sir

Just to confirm this. A P16-M can directly connect to an x air 18 without the need of P16-D... And then more P16-Ms can br daisy chained. Right?
Did you ever find out the answer to this question?

ChatGPT’s response:
To set up the routing from the Behringer X32 Producer to the Behringer Powerplay P16-M personal mixer and include reverb from your vocal channel, you need to use the Ultranet routing feature. Here’s a step-by-step guide to achieve this:
### Step 1: Physical Connections
1. **Connect the P16-M to the X32 Producer:**
- Use a CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable to connect the P16-M to the Ultranet port on the back of the X32 Producer.
### Step 2: Routing Setup on X32 Producer
1. **Configure the Ultranet Outputs:**
- On the X32 Producer, press the `Routing` button.
- Navigate to the `Ultranet` tab.
- Assign the channels you want to send to the P16-M. You can send direct outs, mix buses, or effects returns to the Ultranet outputs.
2. **Route the Vocal Channel with Reverb:**
- Ensure your vocal channel is set up with the reverb you want to send.
- Create a mix bus (e.g., Mix Bus 1) dedicated to the P16-M.
- Send the vocal channel and the reverb return to this mix bus:
- Select the vocal channel, press `Sends on Fader`, and adjust the send level to Mix Bus 1.
- Do the same for the reverb return channel.
- Make sure Mix Bus 1 is not sent to the main mix if you only want it in the P16-M.
### Step 3: Assign Mix Bus to Ultranet
1. **Assign Mix Bus to Ultranet Channel:**
- In the `Routing > Ultranet` tab, assign Mix Bus 1 to one of the Ultranet channels (e.g., Ultranet 1).
2. **Configure P16-M:**
- On the P16-M, assign Ultranet 1 to the desired channel on the P16-M.
### Example Routing Configuration:
1. **Ultranet Channels Setup:**
- Ultranet 1: Mix Bus 1 (contains vocal + reverb)
- Ultranet 2-16: Other channels as needed (e.g., instruments, other vocals).
### Detailed Steps:
1. **Routing > Ultranet Tab:**
- Set `Ultranet 1` to `Out 9-16` (assuming Mix Bus 1 is assigned to Out 9).
2. **Out 9-16 Tab:**
- Set `Out 9` to `Mix Bus 1`.
3. **Configure Effects Send:**
- Select the vocal channel, press `Sends on Fader`.
- Adjust the send level to `Mix Bus 1`.
4. **Reverb Return:**
- Select the FX return channel, press `Sends on Fader`.
- Adjust the send level to `Mix Bus 1`.
By following these steps, you should be able to send a mix of your vocal channel with reverb to the P16-M personal mixer without using direct out routing. Adjust the levels as needed on the P16-M for a personalized mix.

Try sending the signal with the desired effects to a mix bus or matrix and then setting the P16 to take its input from that mix bus or matrix rather than a particular channel. If you don't know how:
- Select a Mix Bus (or stereo link a pair of them if you want stereo)
- Hit Sends on Fader
- Set levels and effects the way you want them going into the Mix Bus, just as if it were a monitor/house speaker

- Set an input channel for the P16 to use that Mix Bus as its source

Also, regarding the preamps, I know there's a lot of different opinions.
You'll only notice any kind of difference if you're driving a decently hot signal through them, though - quiet signals won't sound particularly different at all. I do find the Midas preamps have a better S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio though, which means there's noticeably less of that background hiss that exists in all recordings. Hope this helps!
@@DrewBrashler Okay that's good to know. What if I was sending an Ultranet output from the XR18 to a Powerplay P16D Ultranet in the coms room (approx 40m) then send distribute signals from there (max 40m from there)?
Yeah, if you had a P16D at the end of a 60-80m run, then you could go another 60-80m no problem! Using the P16D as a repeater is a great idea.
@@DrewBrashler Awesome, that's what I'll probably end up doing. I might also get some Ultranet enabled speakers in some of the small meeting rooms.
Are you able to to run a p16 directly from the sound board?
You can - it just will not have the PoE (Power over Ethernet). You would just run the P16's as a daisy-chain and each individual P16 must have power nearby. 🙂
Is there a way to send two separate p16 mixes from a x32?
Can you use this with the XR18
I am also interested to know
Can you use these with a Mackie analog mixer? 🧐
Thank you so much
Is it possible to connect it directly to the mixer without using the p16D?
Do the P16s only work with the Behringer X32?
So if I have a 32 channel mixer I can daisy chain 2 p-16s right??
Can the p16 be used without the distribution interface by coming directly out of my Midas m32r? I’m assuming I’ll have to provide power? Thnx.
Power supply needed.
Thank you my friend so what can i use that p16 it is for what
How do you group 8 choir mics on one channel of your p16?
Do i need P16D, if im having X32, lately S16 and i want personal monitor only for myself?
Just use AES50 to Connect S16 to X32 and Ultranet to Connect P16 to S16 and it Will work???
Do you need the P16D to power if you only have one unit of P16?
The p16d provides power over the Ethernet cable…if you don’t mind plugging in power with the wall wart, you don’t need the p16d for a single p16m
Where can you get. The label ?
I can’t get 1 instrument to come through
they used it for over playing loudness 😂😂
Huh?
Studiolive or Yamaha is so much simpler and better in all aspect. This is too time consuming.
