Been using the P16 for years- and was always frustrated by my in ear mix (as a guitar player). My guitar sounds fine at home via headphones, or my in-ears, but terrible via the P16 This is going to hopefully change the game for me, especially the EQ for each channel. Thanks!
Hello Drew, jou can reset the P16 instead of putting all the settings to default by pressing 'RECALL+STORE+MUTE', that way you have a CLEAN P16 to start with!
Drew, I am a huge fan of your tutorials. I also use the P16, but have now treated myself to the Midas DP48. If I understand it correctly I can address 48 channels and the free P16 channels I could then use for another routing. I would be very happy if you would do something about the DP48. Greetings from Germany
Great video explaining the P16! I’m using the x18 and trying to get effects on all tracks and cannot figure out how to do it. Maybe you could do a shirt video on how that is done
Thanks for this great review. If I store several mixes, then power down the unit, transport it to another location, then power it back up, will the settings still recall (i.e. are they stored in memory when the unit is not connected to power)?
Hi Drew.. i'm using our mix bus for our IEM now.. if we're using P16 sistem monitoring, how about our mix bus ?... can we use it for something else ?... like 'paralel drum compresion' maybe ?.. Thank you 👍
I was wondering too. Maybe he has some kind of live recording from each channel going into the mixer? Would be great to know to setup IEM without the need for the whole band playing
How does the midi input on the back of the p-16 work? Using an Ethernet (or cat 5-6) cable, if I know the signal comes “in” from the power play receiver, where can I send the signal from my p-16, using the “thru” connection/input on the back? Am I only able to send it to another p-16?
Hi friend, I have MR18, I'm trying to use P16M, but the ultranet signal is off on it, I've tested it with another cable, but it didn't work, is there any reset or configuration done to make it work?
Drew.. I bought 2 different shielded cat8 Ethernet cables and neither one would power my p16m thru just the ultranet port on its own. It was my understanding that 1 p16m could be powered by just the ultranet port alone without a power supply. Am I incorrect? If not, do you know a specific 3 ft shielded Ethernet cable that would work?
We have a Beringer X32 and P16s. I would like the worship leader to to be able to hear the main Left and Right front of house signel in one channel on the p16s. Can I route the main left and right to a bus? I would then send the bus to the p16 where we could solo the p16 channel.
Hi Drew I have a question I have a x32 behringer with a stage box my question is how can I use the ultranet port on the stage box so that I can use P16M. Can you explain how to get the work? Jamal Greaves
Enjoyed the video … I’m just trying to get used to using P16 but I ‘m finding whatever I mix tones etc seem to get over ridden by wing sound desk operator but not certain …is that a possibility ??
Hello Drew question about the P16-M, I have a sound company and thinking of adding these to my x32 setup for ease of use on stage for each band member. does the P16-M unit have an internal battery to save the settings once unplugged ? this would make for an easier setup so I don't have to reset each unit on every setup. prefer to label the unit for each band member so I can pull them out setup and be done.
sir drew thank you so much i have always enjoyed your contents it has been really helpfull but please do a video on a complete sound system setup..including mics instruments,di boxs, speaker connections and processing(main and sub bus compressor and limiter). and should subs on aux or crossover??
Hi Drew ... Hope you will tap into the following subjects in a later video, as they are noe very well documented * Restore P16-M to factory settings * Is the Volume Pot an amplifier with the ability to amplify the signal, or just an attenuator ? * Where is UNITY GAIN ? ... on Channel Volum, Main Volum and Output (important if you need to feed into i.e. an IEM transmitter
* Restore P16-M to factory settings Keeping the “Main+Mute+Solo” depressed while powering up will enter a test mode, for checking the physical controls. With the next power cycle, everything will be reset to factory defaults.
This is way more than I want to do for playing 8 songs a month at church. I have been playing guitar for 60 years and am used to a crappy mix. I am accustomed to plugging in, playing, and going home. Leaving the people at the board blend the sound. Most of my playing is without amplification. So if I want to just plug and play, what do you recommend. I would be satisfied to bypass this altogether, except I need an in ear monitor.
You could get an inline headphones amplifier. Behringer makes a couple versions powered by batteries. Use XLR to get from stagebox to inline headphones amp. Have the Sound Op mix for you.
If you want to use ultranet for iq speakers AND p16 monitors, do you use a p16 distributor out of the x32 then into BOTH p16 AND iq speakers? I would daisy chain the iq from the first one.
Hi Drew. A have a question: I have an x32 rack , and a S16 for have 32 channels. I'd like to buy a P16. I can receive inputs from x32 rack and S16 too at the same time? I need to have inputs from both the machines. Is it possible? Where do i connect the p16? At the x32 or in the S16? Thank you very much in advance.
Thanks so much for the video Drew! Definitely taught me something and clarified a few things for me. I'm interested in hearing more about these 'Flex channels' though. So you're not just summing up stereo channels in a mono aux and sending that to the ears?
This is so helpful! I do have a question - you said the level is for the headphone output. Does that mean the level does not impact channels individually?
That is a lot of information to remember, especially for each individual band member, plus aren't this things like $500 dollars each? Couldn't a guy just buy an x-air 16 for the bands in-ears, although the phone app for the X-airs has a learning curve as well.
@@99Barnyard Good point. I suppose that having physical buttons and knobs ( even if they are digital rotary knobs) would be preferable to struggling with an iffy network and a phone app. Thank you for the info.
The only drawback of this setup, unless the handheld mics are picking up the environment, is that there's no way to hear the crowd without taking out one earpiece, which is a huge negative. You need ambience mics to be able to hear the crowd.
Ambience mics are not difficult to set up and you can get away with using one mic if that is all you have. It's better than nothing. Just plug it into an open channel and the locations where the sound is desired can draw from that channel. In order to avoid feedback in the mains, make sure to turn off the LR and Mono/C assignments in the Main section of the channel the ambience mic is plugged into. For an extra measure of safety, you could turn it off for all the Bus outputs where the signal is not needed just in case a particular bus is feeding a Matrix output that could potentially output the mic's sound anywhere near it.
Dude - thanks for keeping it fast and simple!

Hey @drew.. I was able to get this working on the wing, however I can't set the tap point.. would you be able to help with that?
Beautiful Drew. Thanks for sharing

Can we get separate amounts of reverb to each track on a P16 (from the x32) and still have a separate reverb mix for the house?
Thanks!
Sir How to connect x32 to smart v8 and Delay alignment
I noticed there was no audio cable out of P16. Where is the audio for this video coming from?
I was wondering too. Maybe he has some kind of live recording from each channel going into the mixer? Would be great to know to setup IEM without the need for the whole band playing
Is there a way to view or adjust the p16 mix from the mixer?
can you send a group fader into a channel in p16? for example 1 want all my drum mic to be in 1 channel in p16
How do you get effects from a bus (say, reverb or stereo delay for vocals) into the p16?
Thx for the great tutorial! I didn’t quite follow the “link” feature…when/why would we use that?
We use channels 1-28 right now, how do I fit everything onto a p16?
How do you un-group a channel? I made an mistake and group my bass and lead guitar together
Hi Drew, can you please explain the use of the MIDI function on the P16?
Can we get that label strip?
Will this work with the XR12? I dont see any Ultra ports on the actual mixer or anything that say's Ultra in the app
How does the midi input on the back of the p-16 work?

I have the XR18 with P16’s. How do I easily add reverb to vocals or the drum overheads to give some room in the mix?
What dose the Group do?

The X32....Can the front USB audio playback be routed to the P16? We can't figure this one out.
Can the Behringer p16 work with the Yamaha o2r digital mixer??🙏
How do you get effects in your channels? reverb... delays...

Drew, my in ear head phones and the floor wedges only work when fully panned left...suggestion?
Very helpful video.
Can I just come out of my Midas ultranet directly into the p 16 without having to use the interface? I’ll just have to plug it into power correct?
Super helpful
Do you have a tutorial for the Midas DP48?

Are the L/R Drum subgroup?
You could do it that way, but you can set it up as a Pre-Fader Stereo Bus Mix.

Yes you can do it, but specifically by 4 channels because the routing settings are allowed for 4 channel changes, not 1 by 1
so you can definitely using 1-4 x32 , 5-8 s16, etc

P16 - $299
Our church uses the app, and it is a pain. The vocalist / musician struggle with it. It also requires them to be on a local network.

@@MrCT81 Thank you for the price update.
Can’t you have 16 stereo channels with the Wing? Instead of only mono, and not have to link everything.
Unfortunately no, the P16 is limited to 16 mono channels.
Thought this would be about Behringers future Prophet 5 Clone..
what do you mean when you say"it works with any of those console that have an alternate out?" what's an alternate out?
*Ultranet Out
