      On of my favorite games was a mad bomber who was putting crystal around town charged to explode. I remember surviving a couple bombs that were vibrating faster and faster building tention. One we had to move it another we got the people out barely in time.

      Introducing 5 or 6 people that could be the villain is cool because they are nocs that could be used later

      @@DnDBeyond I think you did very well Joe. And I feel happy after seeing this that you are taking over. But it is still just weird, at first, to not see Todd when the camera turns on and the show starts.

    I've had to move from the sofa to arm chair as my wife would kick me when I figure out the plot line 1/3 of the way into an episode.

    I really hope that Candlekeep is fleshed out a lot better than The Yawning Portal was. I would be interested in using this book as a way of having a library adventure in the middle of a campaign.
    It will depend on the quality of the writing, and of the design. First, and foremost, I buy the books to read them and get inspired. I am more than a little concerned by the lack of track record for some of the authors. Or more accurately, how difficult it has been to find out what they have designed or written in the past. It really sounds like a hodge-podge of homebrew dungeons that won't work as a cohesive whole. It sounds much more like a great idea for a monthly column in a magazine, perhaps. We'll see. If the adventures are great, with interesting puzzles, and tricky traps then I'm in.

    If it was a full campaign centered around a candlekeep mystery I'd be in. The fact that it's just a bunch of one shots is not for me. My Personal preference as a DM is the long campaigns.

    • @CVFMusic
      @CVFMusic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I mean, do you, but you tie small adventures into larger campaigns pretty easily.

    • @CaptainTempest1
      @CaptainTempest1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      A bunch of one-shots makes sense though for mysteries. You can tie them all together with the through-line being your adventuring party is a detective agency of some sort.

    • @DnDBeyond
      @DnDBeyond  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We talk about it a bit in the video, but these kinds of tonally different one-shots can make GREAT breathers for your long-term campaigns!

    I’m still confused about wheel chair accessible dungeons, couldn’t they always be?

    • @NxtGenDragon
      @NxtGenDragon 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The creator of the dungeon said "Of course, heck if I never mentioned it was people wouldn't have noticed"
      The creator was being funny cause she also made the popular Combat Wheelchair homebrewed item that circulated months ago and was featured in Critical Role.
      She's also Wheelchair user so she was just saying hey it can work for a wheelchair if needed

    If ya'll are looking for new people to helm D&D Beyond content, ya'll should hire black creators or POC creators. We've got enough white male voices in the hobby! (No shade at Todd or any of the other folks helming the D&D Beyond content, by the way)

    • @DnDBeyond

    • @NxtGenDragon
      @NxtGenDragon 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      As a POC myself, hiring POC people for diversity sake rather than their potential is very offensive and off-putting for alot of us.
      But finding good content creators that happen to be POC is another story and one that's welcome.
      Basically hire folks that fit the role not just because they are of a specific ethnic group
