  • I liked the Hattons Class 66 upon which this is based but this model has truly ironed out most if not all of the small niggles with the Hattons version, although I have still kept several as they are still very good models

@@vcs00railwayWell our order should have arrived this week, no such luck now next week poor old Jim at the Locoshed in Manchester always appears to recieve his deliveries after everyone else! Have ordered 66507/66167/66415 the limited edition one, 66763 and 66122.Mind you will have to do some swaps, probably a few Bachmann and Hattons versions of the 66's.

The speaker in the Acc 66 is equivalent to an EM1 speaker, rather than an EM2 which was used in the Hattons 66. The sound is still excellent though and the base / treble can be tuned 'to taste' with CVs. CV196 is bass, CV197 is treble. Ranges 0 to 30. As this is a new model the ESU decoder will have the up to date firmware to enable this adjustment.

It looked larger than the previous Accurascthrash EM1's used in the other models, but perhaps I just assumed it was an EM2 aka Hattons version 😊

I dont model this era more peaks and deltics but you've got a rather nice model there, Question is that a stripper in the window! I'm asking because we use to have some when I worked as a secondman, A certain lady
in Derbyshire use to put on a show when we where stood at signals, Oh them days gone forever!

There are also now Two speakers on board, for better sound reproduction, and a Stay Alive

I hadn't appreciated that the class 66 Accurathrash EM1 style speaker is in fact 8 ohms whereas the one used for the earlier diesels are 4 ohms. This explains why Accurascale now have two speakers available
