Yo nice vid! I've been using RC505s for years and FL Studio for even more years. Started playing around with Ableton last year and am considering adding it to pre-production/live performance workflow and maybe even picking up this Push 3 or the Akai Force to give it a more standalone vibe. Question on the Push 3: when you're in Standalone mode, can you still use all your Ableton plugins? (i.e. VSTs)
The short answer for VST's is no, you only can use your VSTs when you have tethered the Push 3 to the computer. After it is tethered you can access your VSTs from the Push 3, but you'd have to midi map most of the functions to the 8 encoders to get the most out of a VST, and then save that mapping (grouping) as a preset under User presets. Bit of a long answer but that is how you'd make the most out of the Push 3 and Vsts. Sadly no standalone VST capabilities. Although the onboard effects on Ableton are more than enough to get you started. All the effects in the video are Ableton's own effects.
@@styptic_sound I am using 128’s. So it a bunch of sounds from different places. Sorry I don’t think I have any more information about that. Thanks for watching!
That is the stock sound in Ableton, Its called Electric bass, I put a limiter on it so it doesn’t attack over 95, otherwise you’ll hear bass slapping. The pads are really sensitive and if you don’t put a limiter on it, you will regularly hear that loud slapping sound. Thanks for stopping by!
I have to agree, I have owned the Push 2 since 2016 and the pads and the layout on the Push 3 are much more intuitive than the Push 2. I am always learning new things the more I use it.
If you look at 4:53 you can see that I can capture audio and loop it live. BUT you have to capture at least 1 midi track live at whatever tempo you play it and loop it live at.
If you have anything to add, criticisms, questions or whatever please do so.
Finally watched your video Dichotomus, thank man!
I have been looking for this for a long time. Thank you so much. great work.
Thanks for watching, I'll be making more content around the Push 3 standalone in the future.
Really enjoyed this
I'm glad you did, I'm working on similar content based around the push, and learning chords and chord progressions. I have plans!

Fantastic tutorial 🔥🔥. Thank you! What kind of drums are you using in this project? I love the snare sound ❤

Great one.
Thanks!
Hi interesting vid..what bass preset was that?

I've gotta say the layout of the Push 3 just seems to make much more sense than the Push 2. I think I need to really consider an upgrade.

push is just so much easier than mpc or maschine
dope
Thanks for watching!
Pretty sure this is only capturing midi, right?
If you look at 4:53 you can see that I can capture audio and loop it live. BUT you have to capture at least 1 midi track live at whatever tempo you play it and loop it live at.
Can you START by looping audio or do you have to start with midi?
@@adamelfersmusic as far as it stands now you have to start with MIDI. MIDI loop at least one element and then you can start looping audio.
