I've been enjoying your videos. I liked the bit 44:00 in or so where you mention that a fictional world is created as soon as the author puts the pen down because it touches on two literary concepts from Russian scholars which is the idea that narratives can be broken into Fabula and Syuzhet. The fabula is the life of a character from their perspective from the day they're born and is something we the audience infer even if we don't see every waking moment of their lives. The Syuzhet on the other hand is the chronological order of events in the plot (which is what we the audience see). I find a lot of Deltarune theories lean very heavily into the fabula (ie what if X did Y in the past) which is understandable for a meta narrative, but there's a lot to be said about theories formed from what makes an interesting plot instead.
Didn't get to mention this in the stream. I do think there is one important thing to highlight with timeline theory, and that is the the timelines of Deltarune and Undertale just don't line up, and that we cannot use Undertale timeline to predict Deltarune timeline. Why don't the timelines line up? 1. Chara and Asriel died AT LEAST 100 years before the start of Undertale. 2. Gerson has seen Toriel AND Asriel. 3. Papyrus, Sans, and Undyne DO NOT recognize Toriel visually, implying that they weren't born when Toriel was queen. From point 1 and 3 we know that Chara and Asriel are a good bit older than Papyrus and the gang. However, Sans and Undyne seem to be older than Asriel in Deltarune. Gerson is also dead, even though he still lived for (at least) 100 years after Asriel died. So no matter which way you look at it this doesn't add up. Why is this important? Well, it means that we cannot be certain on the ages of the characters. If Kris is Deltarune Chara then and all the timelines added up we could assume that Asriel is only a little older than Kris. But the timelines don't add up, so for all we know Asriel is a good couple of years older. Any theory that relies on the ages of Undertale characters we simply cannot be confirmed using timelines.
Alright, damn. I actually think the idea of us controlling Noelle would be super cool. And that the weird route is us "glitching" the game to level up Noelle so she's strong enough to beat the party. That's an awesome crack theory that actually does make sense.
Great stream, I was there for part of it live, but I'm happy to rewatch the whole thing! I had no idea about Toby straight up calling Kris a knight in that LIVE A LIVE interview, wow. I don't know how more people aren't talking about that and second-guessing their opposition to Kris Knight. I know you put it in 100% True anyway, but I just want to add another layer of confirmation onto Tea Theory. Shortly after Chapter 2 dropped, Toby liked a tweet from someone saying it had a reference to the book "Sideways Stories from Wayside School," specifically the chapter "Maurecia," which is about a girl who gets tired of normal ice cream flavors, so her teacher brings ice cream named after the students and has everyone try them. I haven't read it, but as far as I'm aware their reactions to the ice cream reflect how they feel about the students they're named after, ie: because everyone likes Maurecia, everyone likes the ice cream named after her. You can find the tweet if you scroll through Toby's likes a bit. Just a bit of info I rarely ever see mentioned in the Deltarune theory community, tho most people accept Tea Theory as true at this point anyway lol.
43:24 I actually really like the idea that Kris as the knight created the story of the dark worlds, which is why they know each other. But how do the secret bosses fit into this as some of them seemingly interact with Gaster? Did they meet with Gaster in between the time Kris made the fountain and the time the fun gang enters the dark world? Or did Kris write these secret bosses with a backstory of meeting Gaster?

Thank you for saying it makes no sense, thats the validation any deltarune theorist needs for their highly specific theory that they are emotionally attached to for seemingly no reason. 10/10 stream
kris being knight isnt garunteed, even if you believe it, (im personally on the fence about it), but i wouldn’t put anyone as knight, as a true theory, until it’s confirmed.
