I ordered this product recently. Upon delivery, it was packed with 2 wireless game controllers. Neither work. I Need to get USB(Wired Controllers) for this thing. Which one should I get ? Note: I was able to get it to work by using a Commodore 64 mini system joystick 🕹 controller, but, the configuration process wound up basically giving me a very incomplete control system. The c64 mini system joystick 🕹 controller simply lacks a sufficient amount of buttons and such. I was thinking, perhaps I could order a Nintendo 64 USB(Wired Controller). This Arcade-Box system just simply seems to have an utter disregard for wireless game 🎮 controllers. Strange that That is what was packed in the delivery box. 📦 😳 😒
DIYers! Specs and Upgrade Info here! OK so this box DOES have Android 4.4 on it's 8GB emmc. It ships with 32bit EmuELEC 3.9 on a 64GB SD. The device WILL run 64bit EmuELEC current version (v4.3 as of this post). You need the download called "EmuELEC-Amlogic.aarch64-4.3-Generic" NOT the "ng" version. After flashing it to a new SD card (I have tested 256GB myself) you need to open the EMUELEC partition and either copy the "dtb.img" from the original SD card here or go in the "device_trees" folder on the new card and copy the file "gxbb_p200_1G_100M_RealtekWiFi.dtb" to the root of the partition and rename it to "dtb.img". This file tells the OS what the hardware capabilities and drivers are for the Arcade Box. It does in fact have 1GB Ram and is a S905M rev.C SoC which is quad core 1.5GHz. 100MBit LAN and 802.11bgn WiFi. Not bad at all for a $40 game box!!!
I came to the same conclusion myself. Thank/thumbsup for the clarification on the 4.3 version, I was using the ng version with no results. I even tried Galiesteo version, but was getting no audio. FYI 4.3 version will tax this little box, kinda reason why they left 3.9 on it. But I think it's worth it for duckstation on the psx.

@@MattZildjian just use an 8bitdo BT wireless USB adapter or similar. They work great! Would likely be less input lag than if it did have its own BT radio.

can you do a tutorial on best way to clone/backup the sdcard for safety? I assume you'd want to make a disk image vs just copying all files and folders, yes?

Wii U is still my preferred way to play NDS on the big screen due to having the touch screen in your hands, its still not perfect though unfortunately Also if anyone didnt know the Genesis/S/NES Classics can play NDS quite well via Drastic
It seems like DS games with play mechanics that are designed around making very specific strokes on the touchscreen (e.g. The World Ends With You or Scribblenauts) would be virtually unplayable on this thing. If I ever bought one of these, it probably wouldn't be just for the DS games.
14:44 I hate to be that girl, but ASKHULLY you choose your emulator in advanced GAME options instead of system options whilst keeping the advanced system options emulator at auto. Not only does every arcade game require certain emulators to run (as stated in this video), but also some games already have an emulator set as the default in advanced game options, which ensures that particular game will run with that bunk emulator no matter what you change in advance system options. And protip; Piderman works best with AdvanceMame and Golden Axe: Revenge of Blackadder works with Mame 2003. Granted, the former won't run at 60fps and the latter will have some video imperfections (i.e. title screen not showing up and the shadows not being transparent with weird little white pixel being present), but there you go. It's the best you can do with this lovable little scrappy box. Anywho, great video. You saved me a HUGE headache on the BOR portion.
I've been leaning towards ordering something like this for heavy hitter games I can't really justify paying for & stuff like the turbografx hucard, turbo cd, & Neogeo games... seems like the way to go

That Rii keyboard controller!! I've not seen that before. I am definitely going to buy this. Exactly what I need for my MiSTer too, I currently reach out for my mini USB keyboard when need to, for Speccy and AtariST, but it's nowhere near as small as that Rii, and it's on the controller. I like to see that the price and power of these devices have come down... In 2-3 years, I don't doubt China will be pumping out these boxes powerful enough to do Dolphin and PS2 for around the same price point... and for anyone who disagrees... look up what a 1TB MicroSD card cost in 2019 ($449.99) vs now.... ($175, not even on sale). Every couple years, things double in speed and reduce in cost by about half for a lot of technology that is quickly re-inventing itself. These system on a chip type things are mass produced and refreshed constantly with faster components which just drives the previous generations down even quicker. It has never been a better time to be a low expectation budget gamer... because for the cost of a single current gen title... you can play basically everything for the first 30y of video games at around the same price point.
Just as an FYI, the stock went down to like 600, then they replenished and now, as I type this, it is up to over 2,600, so they likely won't be going out of stock anytime soon.

This seems like a cheaper alternative to the Super Console X or the Pro but most of those games really do play fairly well but that's just my lonely opinion & great video as always my dude ✌.
Can you add games to the dreamcast , sega cd, turbographx cd, and any of the other systems that dont have that many games on there lists??? If so how complicated is it? As i have never done something like, downloading and adding roms to anything.
Hi, Mine was working great but now it doesn't load the games. It only goes to the android desktop when I power it on. Any thoughts? Not sure why that happened. It used to boot right into the games.
Are all the game descriptions in English or another language like the super console X which I think uses the ROM dump from a Brazilian emulation group?
So frustrating that I can't find this on eBay or even Amazon. I dunno WTF but on Ali Express,my browser or the site itself changes everything to either Spanish or Portuguese even though I set it to English lol. (Btw MLP, look like u slimmed down. Congrats man, it's a struggle.)
There were a few nice surprise games on this but unfortunately it does have some issues such as info going lost and many being in foreign language, game crashing and you can not change aspect ratio on handheld games, I would prefer this to use retroarch instead of emulationstation like on PS classic, for one save-stating is far easier with retroarch. there's no amiga, saturn and colecovision games. Otherwise issues aside for 35 quid this is alright.
I got one of these, and someone the controller mapping is messed up on both. I don’t know how to reset them… rendering this box useless. I have access to an XBox 360 wireless controller. Anything I can do to gain control again?
What about cheats for super Nintendo games? Because I know on some of these other emulators you can get sheets for super Nintendo games and I was wondering if you can get them on this one as well?
Playing around with mine now, latency is quite bad. Setting run ahead frames to 4 is a big improvement however if I do this via the menu in emuelec the setting does not apply in RA.
@@jonzaremba You can adjust the setting manually in retroarch by first launching a game, and then holding select and triangle and navigating the retroarch menus. The setting not working via EmuElec menu seems to be a bug of EmuElec 3.9. I updated mine to 4.3 and now the setting works, however setting pretty much any run ahead really kills performance, I could only set 1 frame and maybe 2 frames at best without seeing a frame drop below the target frame rate.
@@MattZildjian Thanks for this tip Matt. Just spent a while adjusting all of the latency settings here. They do have an impact on the game...but don't really help unfortunately. It's odd that there have been so many positive comments on this device, and nobody other than you has mentioned the latency. Do you think that using a different controller would help it perform properly?
@@MattZildjian Sorry to double up on the responses. I connected my PC keyboard and configured it. There is basically no latency this way. I'm thinking that what we're experiencing is due to the quality of the included controllers. Did you try any others besides what was in the case?

I had a similar console that have 50,000 games, the problem with this game consoles is they are not usually customizable so just be careful, what happens to mine was i went to Emuelect page and set up the resolution to 480x360 resolution after that i just see green screen. and i tried the best i can to have it work so i guess it corrupted the 256GB micro SD card. The Android TV part of it still works but when i insert the Micro Sd card it wont work.
I've poked around on mine and it looks like they locked up some of the stuff. Like there's no option to download new cores. So, for example, on the SD card you'll see there's a folder for the Atari Jaguar. However, there doesn't seem to be any way to get the system to recognize that console or give you access to any ROMs to play (after you've downloaded them yourself, of course).
Do you know if it’s possible to configure a usb N64 controller to work with the games? I know that the original N64 controller was fairly unique and I’m unable to play the games properly with the supplied controllers.

Q: Saving a game in progress: I hate sounding stupid, but went through the instructions for the console, but didn't see anything about how to save a game with progress. Wife loves Phantasy Star, but is frustrated that it seems that even though it seems to walk through the saving process in game, it didn't actually save her game when she went back to it. 😞 Any help/insight is appreciated!!

I'd like to see Super Mario 64 and some PSX games on it. I have a TV Box with the same chipset/GPU that I converted to a Retro game box and it struggles pretty hard on those. It's not that it doesn't have the power, apparently the driver compatibility is simply not there. It looks like this is simply a TV box that someone has converted, and I'm worried that it will have the same issue. On the bright side, it plays many other systems flawlessly.
@@waynerowlinson6177 I'll boot into android and double check tomorrow. There is a 1G chip on the board and a pair of side by side 4G chips. You may be right just based on the $40 price tag. EDIT: You were right. 1GB Ram and 8GB emmc storage. I edited my other comments to correct them.
@@waynerowlinson6177 Using 64bit EmuELEC 4.3 I tested for PS1 Bloody Roar II, Gran Turismo 2, MvC & SF Alpha 3. All ran at 59-61fps. I was using CHDs and Swanstation (RA core). For SM64 I used Mupen64Plus-Next GLES2 (RA core) and at the 3D Mario Head I got 25.5-28.2 fps, with perfect sound. Game start fly by of the castle was locked at 30fps with perfect sound. Running around outside castle was 29-30fps. First level was 28-30fps but mostly 30fps with perfect sound. Anything specific you want me to test just let me know.
Whats up with the pawky box for $20-30 more that boasts ps2 and GameCube? If this thing could handle N64 well I'm kinda interested, but it is 1/3 to 1/4 of the cost of getting an actual N64 and a cheap multi cart. If I can't trust PC or ps classic for N64 emulation... Even with firmware updates, could any of these boxes do the trick? Would be nice to have a cheap box or build covering N64 since the new switch add on is $10 more than this thing. Also, AliExpress is basically the devil and never sends the right product, tried getting a handheld emulation system received a SD card. Just a card! Anyways, would be cool if some of this sparked what the ps classic could do (besides one port of a game I already own on switch) and see a full N64 or y'know, NES SNES 64 Genesis only, working box art build for ps classic. All the cool stuff we did with ps classic I wiped the same flash drive a billion times to try new things, so I have none of it backed up anywhere. My ps1 build legit has that boring autobleem theme just to get at the most ps1 games on a 64gb drive. Well anyways, anyone try the pawky thing next to this one? And anyone who missed it, I was basically saying if we only made live sources for the stuff again on our gdrives that went dead over a year ago, ps classic can do all this stuff better right? Most Dreamcast was running great, and DS was running amazing, never saw ds emulation so tight as when it was on ps classic but I just wasn't about it at the time was alot to go through just to play DQ9
Hello! Something's wrong. When connecting the console it doesn´t detect the SD, when touching the input where it is, it is extremely hot. Is the SD broken? Or is it normal for it to get very hot? I need help please, what can I do?
If the sd card or slot is getting very hot something is definitely wrong. SD card could be faulty. If you recently received it id escalate a claim for a return/refund.
Try start and select, some games may require pressing select and square or triangle to exit via retroarch menu, select option to exit. I havent messed with this for a while so I dont exactly remember, but the buttons i mentioned above is typical to exit.
Hey there, I recently picked this up and this video helped me tremendously! I wanted to ask if you or anyone has figured out how to get the cursor to move in the Capcom Fighting Collection for Dreamcast? Since you can't move it you can only play Capcom Vs Snk 2 because only the A button and triggers work. Other parts of the menu can be accessed that way but not the cursor. Thanks.
This may not help much, but I've noticed that some games run better on some cores than others. You'll need to go into the game's page then hit the Start button and navigate though the menus to where you can select which core you want to run for that game.
@@snoleygames Side Note: I’ll try to take a closer look tomorrow, but as far as I remember, I think I had to highlight the game, then press start, and navigate to where I could change the core. I don’t remember if I could even do that from the emuelec interface. I might have needed to start the game in Retroarch first.

@@MattZildjian It does NOT have bluetooth. Even in the native Android environment you cannot enable bluetooth (as there is no BT radio hardware)

I just avoid using the D's on this thing the emulator is bad no matter how many times you remap the buttons they still never work right

Every couple years, things double in speed and reduce in cost by about half for a lot of technology that is quickly re-inventing itself. These system on a chip type things are mass produced and refreshed constantly with faster components which just drives the previous generations down even quicker.
It has never been a better time to be a low expectation budget gamer... because for the cost of a single current gen title... you can play basically everything for the first 30y of video games at around the same price point.

This seems like a cheaper alternative to the Super Console X or the Pro but most of those games really do play fairly well but that's just my lonely opinion & great video as always my dude ✌.

Super Console Pro stopped working after a few weeks. Buy this one instead. Had no problems with it

Hi, Mine was working great but now it doesn't load the games. It only goes to the android desktop when I power it on. Any thoughts? Not sure why that happened. It used to boot right into the games.
Are all the game descriptions in English or another language like the super console X which I think uses the ROM dump from a Brazilian emulation group?
So frustrating that I can't find this on eBay or even Amazon. I dunno WTF but on Ali Express,my browser or the site itself changes everything to either Spanish or Portuguese even though I set it to English lol.

There were a few nice surprise games on this but unfortunately it does have some issues such as info going lost and many being in foreign language, game crashing and you can not change aspect ratio on handheld games, I would prefer this to use retroarch instead of emulationstation like on PS classic, for one save-stating is far easier with retroarch. there's no amiga, saturn and colecovision games. Otherwise issues aside for 35 quid this is alright.
check the video again at about the 14 min. mark, he brings up a menu to change the aspect ratio.
I got one of these, and someone the controller mapping is messed up on both. I don’t know how to reset them… rendering this box useless. I have access to an XBox 360 wireless controller. Anything I can do to gain control again?

What about cheats for super Nintendo games? Because I know on some of these other emulators you can get sheets for super Nintendo games and I was wondering if you can get them on this one as well?
Playing around with mine now, latency is quite bad. Setting run ahead frames to 4 is a big improvement however if I do this via the menu in emuelec the setting does not apply in RA.
I'm having the same trouble. What is the trick to getting the latency setting to actually work when playing the games?
@@jonzaremba You can adjust the setting manually in retroarch by first launching a game, and then holding select and triangle and navigating the retroarch menus. The setting not working via EmuElec menu seems to be a bug of EmuElec 3.9. I updated mine to 4.3 and now the setting works, however setting pretty much any run ahead really kills performance, I could only set 1 frame and maybe 2 frames at best without seeing a frame drop below the target frame rate.
@@MattZildjian Thanks for this tip Matt. Just spent a while adjusting all of the latency settings here. They do have an impact on the game...but don't really help unfortunately.
It's odd that there have been so many positive comments on this device, and nobody other than you has mentioned the latency.

I'm thinking that what we're experiencing is due to the quality of the included controllers.

I had a similar console that have 50,000 games, the problem with this game consoles is they are not usually customizable so just be careful, what happens to mine was i went to Emuelect page and set up the resolution to 480x360 resolution after that i just see green screen. and i tried the best i can to have it work so i guess it corrupted the 256GB micro SD card. The Android TV part of it still works but when i insert the Micro Sd card it wont work.
I've poked around on mine and it looks like they locked up some of the stuff. Like there's no option to download new cores. So, for example, on the SD card you'll see there's a folder for the Atari Jaguar. However, there doesn't seem to be any way to get the system to recognize that console or give you access to any ROMs to play (after you've downloaded them yourself, of course).
Do you know if it’s possible to configure a usb N64 controller to work with the games? I know that the original N64 controller was fairly unique and I’m unable to play the games properly with the supplied controllers.

Hi guys, I have issue on PSP, how to exit PSP game back to emulec main menu. Which button mode need to press.
Cause other Mame or Nintendo have no problem just press start button twice & exit & back to main menu.

This was the WORST EMULATOR. Got it for my 6 year old. Crashed constantly. Any recommendations to fix this or recommend another emulator??
Q: Saving a game in progress: I hate sounding stupid, but went through the instructions for the console, but didn't see anything about how to save a game with progress. Wife loves Phantasy Star, but is frustrated that it seems that even though it seems to walk through the saving process in game, it didn't actually save her game when she went back to it. 😞

I'd like to see Super Mario 64 and some PSX games on it. I have a TV Box with the same chipset/GPU that I converted to a Retro game box and it struggles pretty hard on those. It's not that it doesn't have the power, apparently the driver compatibility is simply not there. It looks like this is simply a TV box that someone has converted, and I'm worried that it will have the same issue.
On the bright side, it plays many other systems flawlessly.
FYI this box has a S905M rev.C Soc - 64bit Quad core 1.5GHz & 1GB Ram - just in case you wanted a detailed spec comparison to your current one.

@@waynerowlinson6177 I'll boot into android and double check tomorrow. There is a 1G chip on the board and a pair of side by side 4G chips. You may be right just based on the $40 price tag. EDIT: You were right. 1GB Ram and 8GB emmc storage. I edited my other comments to correct them.

@@waynerowlinson6177 Using 64bit EmuELEC 4.3 I tested for PS1 Bloody Roar II, Gran Turismo 2, MvC & SF Alpha 3. All ran at 59-61fps. I was using CHDs and Swanstation (RA core). For SM64 I used Mupen64Plus-Next GLES2 (RA core) and at the 3D Mario Head I got 25.5-28.2 fps, with perfect sound. Game start fly by of the castle was locked at 30fps with perfect sound. Running around outside castle was 29-30fps. First level was 28-30fps but mostly 30fps with perfect sound. Anything specific you want me to test just let me know.

YES!. If you remove the SD Card (EmuELEC Linux based OS on SD) it will boot Android 4.4 from it's internal 8GB emmc and it's already rooted.

Whats up with the pawky box for $20-30 more that boasts ps2 and GameCube? If this thing could handle N64 well I'm kinda interested, but it is 1/3 to 1/4 of the cost of getting an actual N64 and a cheap multi cart. If I can't trust PC or ps classic for N64 emulation... Even with firmware updates, could any of these boxes do the trick? Would be nice to have a cheap box or build covering N64 since the new switch add on is $10 more than this thing. Also, AliExpress is basically the devil and never sends the right product, tried getting a handheld emulation system received a SD card. Just a card! Anyways, would be cool if some of this sparked what the ps classic could do (besides one port of a game I already own on switch) and see a full N64 or y'know, NES SNES 64 Genesis only, working box art build for ps classic. All the cool stuff we did with ps classic I wiped the same flash drive a billion times to try new things, so I have none of it backed up anywhere. My ps1 build legit has that boring autobleem theme just to get at the most ps1 games on a 64gb drive. Well anyways, anyone try the pawky thing next to this one? And anyone who missed it, I was basically saying if we only made live sources for the stuff again on our gdrives that went dead over a year ago, ps classic can do all this stuff better right? Most Dreamcast was running great, and DS was running amazing, never saw ds emulation so tight as when it was on ps classic but I just wasn't about it at the time was alot to go through just to play DQ9

Hello! Something's wrong. When connecting the console it doesn´t detect the SD, when touching the input where it is, it is extremely hot. Is the SD broken? Or is it normal for it to get very hot? I need help please, what can I do?
If the sd card or slot is getting very hot something is definitely wrong. SD card could be faulty. If you recently received it id escalate a claim for a return/refund.

How do you exit to the main emulator menu when you want to choose another game?
Try start and select, some games may require pressing select and square or triangle to exit via retroarch menu, select option to exit. I havent messed with this for a while so I dont exactly remember, but the buttons i mentioned above is typical to exit.

Hey there, I recently picked this up and this video helped me tremendously! I wanted to ask if you or anyone has figured out how to get the cursor to move in the Capcom Fighting Collection for Dreamcast? Since you can't move it you can only play Capcom Vs Snk 2 because only the A button and triggers work. Other parts of the menu can be accessed that way but not the cursor. Thanks.
This may not help much, but I've noticed that some games run better on some cores than others. You'll need to go into the game's page then hit the Start button and navigate though the menus to where you can select which core you want to run for that game.

Side Note: I’ll try to take a closer look tomorrow, but as far as I remember, I think I had to highlight the game, then press start, and navigate to where I could change the core. I don’t remember if I could even do that from the emuelec interface. I might have needed to start the game in Retroarch first.

Just curious, so my keyboard for my computer itself has a USB connect to the back of the tower, would I be able to connect my actual keyboard to change those inputs or does it have to be one of those mini ones??
