I like these kind of devices. Problem is there are so many of them! Which one to choose!!! Granted I have many of the original consoles and games but something like this is just so convenient! No switching cartridges or disks and waiting for them to load. One thing to hook up instead of several consoles and all their cables and power plugs. I can tolerate the glitches and problems for the convenience.
Its a good price point for a plug and play. And it seems to run the Dreamcast stuff better then some other stuff I have seen that costs more. This is for people that dont want to do the work it takes to do a Pi set up. And that is valid way to approch it.
I can see the wisdom of a pre made setup. Not everyone has the time or know how to set up a RPI and throw the games on themselves. The only caveat with these pre made set ups is if you need help or if the controls or something goes sideways your SOL.
Ally express has this in the specs on the game unit , Note that the console base on open source system,games pre-installed only for testing,you must own the games you play in order to comply with the law. it it basically saying there only a test game not the complete game ?
@@DC4LHO33 yes they do. Only issue I had and it's minor is the game descriptions aren't in English. Beyond that it's a great system for the money. If you can find Amlogic S905X3 or X4 for a little more I would recommend them more.
Great video. Wouldn't mind getting one of these just to see pc-engine cd games and some of the Dreamcast stuff . Saves a lot of looking around for roms etc, Especially as retro games are so expensive nowadays
I bought this and an arcade stick and it’s the best money I ever spent. I play it for hours every day and I’m constantly finding hidden gems on it. Endless fun. Sunset Riders, Wrestlefest, and so many more brilliant games. I’ve ordered SNES and NES usb controllers for it. Cant wait for them to arrive. If you’re on the fence about getting it, get it. You won’t regret it.
Interesting. The price is good. I just pulled the trigger. It's got games and entire consoles my 256 gig Pi 3 doesn't and I don't have the time to figure out how to add.
Wow! OK. Well, I just watched this video and went and bought one of these sets. The 8GB Raspberry Pi was about $160, then I have to assemble it, download the software, install the software, find the game ROMs, download and install the game ROMs…and the controllers are sold separately. For $40, what’s not to like?
If you intended for your machine to serve only as a retro museum, for very low cost and without expectation to handle tougher hardware, absolutely. I have also heard that for this purpose, a 2 GB RPi 4 should be sufficient.

I have the Bluetooth version, but can't get both controllers to work in the games, they only work in the menu. Does anyone know how to fix this? Seems like they both are controller 1 if you know what I mean.
I'm currently looking into the likes of these devices/pandoras boxes etc. People say this is for people too lazy to setup a Pi, but have you SEEN THE PRICE OF A DECENT RPI these days?! I'm not paying $150+ for a BOARD that I have to then build up and configure to my liking just to play retro games on when I could do the same with an older PC but I like the $40 portability of this device for sure!
What am I missing here? Ok it’s emulation, but otherwise it’s a plug and play solution with 30,000 games on it for $40. The games seem to run fine. From what I can tell there’s almost no downside here. I’ll check it out and if it does anything close to what you say and show in this video, I’ll feel like a chump buying all the stuff I own to play these game on an HDTV.

Last time I tried to emulate / download ROMs on my cell phone it completely ruined my phone making everything else load wayyyy to slow. At this point I'd rather buy the device/Raspberry & not risk destroying my laptop or another phone lol. Do you happen to know if Chrono Trigger is on this emulation console? I mainly just want to play Chrono Trigger, Castlevania Symphony of the Night, Advanced Wars, Battle Toads, Pokemon Paper Mario & Fire Emblem really.
It plays great for me! First was muted but now it's great. Having probs figuring how to do safe shut off or going back to game lists. Zelda I'm having probs because controllers are different than original ones.
I bet it was just some old DDR3 ram chip sets laying about now that the knock off vendors have access too. DDR5 is on the horizon so its prob filtering down now, so expect DDR4 in a few years to be the BUDGET Ram memory in knock offs.
I bought two of these with the idea of using them for bartop arcade cabinets cuz they were cheap. I fried the cheap sd cards on both just trying to change some basic settings. I ended up buying a Super Console X Cube for that purpose and I haven’t had an issues with that yet. I definitely don’t recommend changing the settings on this device. I’ll eventually just reflash this system onto a better quality SD card. Just spend a few dollars more if you want a cheap Android gaming box imo
Still sticking with my PC I like low to high emulation I use retrobat as my frontend its very good I'm very happy with it and I use it with windows 11 no issues at all.
How do you reset the arcade box? I messed up while configuring my arcade stick I don't have a start or select button and can't get to the main menu to reconfigure my gamepad
Ive been trying to get my usb encoders to work, but slots 11 and 12 do not work. Ive bought a second set and have the same problem. Secondly I cannot find the freeplay setting anywhere. Any help please this is annoying as hell
Mine just came in the mail. Controller latency is driving me nuts though. Tried adjusting the latency settings in the menu, but didn't seem to make any difference. I don't have another controller to test it with. Think this is just an issue with the cheap controllers it comes with? Anyone else having latency with the included controllers?

So, i did some testing. Since I didn't have a spare controller, i connected my PC keyboard. There was basically no latency this way. So i'm thinking that the latency i'm experiencing with the included controllers is just because they are cheapo. I'm dim and slow. What's the best USB controller to get for this thing?
@@DonTravelsTheWorld no sir. There are different ways to adjust various latency settings. And they do work. But do not make the game any more playable. Feels like playing in slow motion or with a drop frame effect. But I believe this problem may be due to the included controllers. When using my PC keyboard as a controller, it performed much better. So I ordered a new Genesis style USB controller and will have it on Wed to try.
I just ordered one. It's an awesome deal. I am paying for a console with 30,000 games. Let's say I wanted to purchase 30,000 games. Lets just say each game you would pay $ 20 dollars. That would be $ 60,000 dollars. I do not have that kind of money. So even if 1000 games work. It is still a great deal. I will back up the games to my computer and I will always have the games. Hey, maybe someone can help me. i just bought this box and it is pretty awesome. My plan was to get an oldschool type 8bitdo bluetooth controller for it. But this box has Android "firmware 3.9" ...and the 8bitdo Controllers require (for example) "Android 4.0" or "9.0 or higher". I'm not so sure, but would that little USB-brick from 8bitdo solve this problem - or am i just stuck very old bluetooth controllers (or wired ones)?
What controllers work with it? I have a Nintendo switch controller, but it is only compatible with Nintendo I believe. Also, how do I get the drastic option again? It came on once and now I can't seem to get it again. The controllers that I have don't work. Incant even play games at all
I found a game on the Sinclair I used to play called Rex When u choose this game it says you need to put a password into to play it . Can you investigate that for me ? I don’t know who owns the rights maybe
If your not getting the right landing page for the item. You might live in a country, region or state the might not let you ship things from ali express. And your getting filtered out. Or maybe your VPN is keeping you from getting to the right thing.
I have a problem with the console would you help ? I had played and shutdown system from the menu. Later when i push the power button to start loads the picture of emueleg and the signal disappears remains a black screen.... How do I fix it or if there is a way to reboot the system?

If you're looking for retrogaming up to ps1 power, you really can't go wrong with these systems.
It should be nearly as good as a raspberry pi 4. You could play most Dreamcast games on lowest resolution no problem.

Oh gosh yeah, you'd have to get pretty obscure (or modern) to find games it doesn't have. The Konami beatemups work flawlessly far as I can tell.

The EmuElec frontend runs well with this chipset. N64 runs better with the S905X chip, which is on more higher-end SBCs or Android media boxes

No Bluetooth support, unsure if a dongle would work. But yes, there's a plethora of bevel options, including adding your own or having none.

So, i did some testing. Since I didn't have a spare controller, i connected my PC keyboard. There was basically no latency this way. So i'm thinking that the latency i'm experiencing with the included controllers is just because they are cheapo.
I'm dim and slow.
What's the best USB controller to get for this thing?

@@DonTravelsTheWorld no sir. There are different ways to adjust various latency settings. And they do work. But do not make the game any more playable. Feels like playing in slow motion or with a drop frame effect.
But I believe this problem may be due to the included controllers. When using my PC keyboard as a controller, it performed much better. So I ordered a new Genesis style USB controller and will have it on Wed to try.
I just ordered one. It's an awesome deal. I am paying for a console with 30,000 games.
Let's say I wanted to purchase 30,000 games. Lets just say each game you would pay $ 20 dollars. That would be $ 60,000 dollars. I do not have that kind of money. So even if 1000 games work. It is still a great deal. I will back up the games to my computer and I will always have the games. Money in the bank. Thank you MLP.
Has anyone had issues with the arcade Box not saving data? It was working but now as soon as I exit a game any progress is lost.

Hey, maybe someone can help me. i just bought this box and it is pretty awesome. My plan was to get an oldschool type 8bitdo bluetooth controller for it. But this box has Android "firmware 3.9" ...and the 8bitdo Controllers require (for example) "Android 4.0" or "9.0 or higher". I'm not so sure, but would that little USB-brick from 8bitdo solve this problem - or am i just stuck very old bluetooth controllers (or wired ones)?

Minor graphics issues. We get the same issues with ps4 games and all games today. Nothing new there.
