My order for the previous box arrived on Monday, which was quite a bit earlier than they had quoted me. I haven't checked it out yet, but I have a four-day weekend, so I'm pretty excited to get into it and play some old-school games. Something about the arcade box that he doesn't say is that all the nes, snes and genesis games are translated which is awesome and all the in game saves work, at least I haven't had any issues with them
Hey Pixle just want to let you know the arcade box I bought only worked for less than an hour. They gave me a hard time retuning it, it was actually a nightmare experience...
It might be because of the sd card being sketchy. Mine is working well, but backed up the card and imaged it to a better quality one. Ask the company if they have image available.
That sucks, but for sure highly reccomend backing up the sd card as thats the main point of failure with these things on Aliexpress, not saying its extremely common but they do use cheap ass sd cards.

@@Madlittlepixel Yes, you’re probably right because it would turn on but it was as if it couldn’t load anything, not even the operating system. It would just blink on and off kinda like the NES back in the day.

This discussion makes me nervous. I just got my Arcade Box yesterday, but can’t test it because it’s supposed to be a surprise from Santa Claus next month.
I already bought the last one lol. I usually don’t go for these things but if can play some games for systems that are a pain in the ass to emulate usually, I’ll take it.

Does it have save state and rewind for the games? If so, how do you use these functions from the controllers?
Could you please check and see if the Laser Disc games are in MAME or "Arcade"? When I say Laser Disc games I am NOT talking about the Dragon's Lair trilogy (there's 1,000 ways to play that) I'm talking about Cliff Hanger, M.A.C.H. 3, Interstellar Laser Fantasy, Cobra Command, Beggas Battle, Time Gal, Road Avenger, Us vs. Them, etc). Does this have Zaxxon and Super Zaxxon? Do Juno First and Tutankham (sp?) work in MAME? Do Berzerk and Frenzy have the voices? I think it's a shame retro video game companies ignore those games because there is no way to play them when they always focus on the "usual suspects" game lists.
I got the $40 Arcade Box from last time. The only issue I have with it is I keep yanking it off the entertainment center because of that short ass cord. I'm going to invest in a couple of cheap wireless pads soon.
I bought an 8-Bit Do PS2 wireless Bluetooth controller on Amazon for about $50. It's an awesome controller. The Arcade Box is unreliable with controllers, though. I've had to reconnect the same Bluetooth controller and reconfig it several times. When it works, it's golden. When it doesn't, I want to smack someone in the nuts with a bat! By the way, you can enable Bluetooth in the Settings; however, the Arcade Box does not have an internal BT antenna. You'll need an external BT antenna dongle.

Hey so I have the problem that I went to the danger zone and clicked to reset configuration (basically tried to reset the settings) and whenever I clicked games either nothing happened or I would get a blue screen, I know I fucked up but is there anything I can do?
I ordered the arcade box and is going to be delivered to me on December 21. I ordered the wired controller but some people are saying the cord is short. I should have ordered the wireless.

Being a retro gamer I have many consoles that I like already that I play on….I am interested in this for the arcade games. Like I’d love to play an original version of the TMNT arcade game and need a cheap solution for such games. Does it have this game and other arcade classics and does it play such games well?
Is there any master list of games? Also can you save games so you can continue later?
How do you upsize the sd card? A simple copy and paste does not work.
Any recommended wireless controllers? I got the other box you reviewed and so far so good. The game descriptions are in a different language and i can't figure out how to correct that but it works fine. Just wanting better controllers (wireless)
Look for any 2.4ghz wireless pad with good reviews. The Bluetooth ones are probably fine but the 2.4ghz ones are preferable.

For these ROM boxes. I think what they do is add an entire mame set and say "look 5,000 games wooo!" Except they never test every single one to see if you can actually play them.
The console stuff usually is fine because you typically don't find corrupted roms and isos flavoring around on every rom site.

Not that it doesn't include a lot...

I haven't done it, but I've read that you can clone the system to a larger SD card (I've read up to 128gb). Adding games? Yes. You can also Scrape the internet for the game's metadata through the system and it will populate the information for the games you add. As necessary, you can also download any necessary cores you need to run a game and assign the game to run on that core. So you should be able to get nearly any game working provided you don't exceed the hardware limits. It handles up to the PS1, Atari Jaguar, 64-bit level of work.

The one I got had the 256GB almost completely filled. The memory became a problem pretty quick. (YS and Rondo of Blood for TG 16 CD was too much to add) There were over 100GB in Nintendo DS games alone. The emulator for the DS was clunky to begin with so I deleted all but a handful and I was good to go. YS 1 and II are great to actually get my hands on again. I like it because it is easy to play on the TV and all the emulators use the same uniform control scheme.

Its a underpowered android box.. big deal. Yeah cool you can watch Netflix... Not worth my time testing that stuff as I will never sign into any of my accounts on a Chinese android box for any service or Google.

pretty much just a different bundle and slightly different build with a few more systems and more games.

This is basically a raspberry pi with emulation station. Honestly its not a bad deal.
The real problem is that those roms are most likely illegal. The games that dont run is fairly common because of missing bios or artifacts.
Whenever you get these huge bundles of pirated roms they usually come with loads of bootleg roms.

What is your recommendations as far as having an emulation machine? Modded Xbox 360?
Depends on what you want to play, the Xbox Series S is a good machine and easy to do, a cheap laptop can make a good emulation machine, a raspberry pi 4... Really just depends on what you are looking to do. The 360 I never personally modded but have many other devices that do what I want.

Ordered the Arcade Box at the end of November. Arrived in December, but it wouldn’t even turn on. After arguing with them for over a month they finally sent me a new one and guess what it STILL won’t even turn on. I ended up throwing them away I’m so over it.

Personally I just want the micro sd for the games. I've got my secondary pc set up for emulation and personally I'm a bit tired of searching roms.
So, most game tabs work/ scroll just fine...
But, when viewing the Favorites, or All Games tab/ folder...
Things are very slow/ lagging.
At first I thought it was b/c so many games are in the All Games folder that the system has a hard time loading them all/ scrolling through them efficiently....
But the Favorites folder, however, has way less than some of the other folders that come pre-installed with the system/ straight vanilla/ out of the box, so IDK.
Plus the Favorites folder already had a pretty big list, straight out of the box.
So, I deleted some, added others, but... it is still pretty slow.
Anyone have either The Arcade, or Pawky Box & have similar issues or know of a fix?
ah sounds like micro sd card issues. Id back that thing up and get it installed on a better card asap. Sometimes these companies use the crappiest micro sd cards ever and are prone to corruption and just stop working over time.

I got the Pawky Box on Holiday Sale as a replacement/ slight upgrade for the Old Retro-Bit Super Retro-Cade console.
I really enjoyed my time with it, & had it for years, but it was starting to struggle a bit with certain things.
...& for the price, for the Older/ Retro Style Games that I enjoy playing...
I'm not disappointed at all in the Pawky Box.
I get it's better to D.I.Y...

Anyone have a good recommendation for a good wireless controller for these boxes?
I have this box. The best solution I found was a PS4 Dualshock 4 paired with a bluetooth usb dongle. No detectable input delay whatsoever... I tested many wireless controllers with street fighter 2. All other controllers had some lag.

We all know this thing’s illegal as hell but it’s worth $50 not to download all the ROMs in this day and age (yea I know there are pretty public torrents but it’s still a PITA and comes with some risk).

@@totallyfrozen Nintendo got a cut 30 years ago when the cart was first sold and back then there were no EULAs barring resale. Selling ROMs explicitly profits off of IP without ever compensating the rights holder along the way, a little different.

Man I wish there was a way to pay a little money just to get the games digitally. I know I could do it myself but I wouldn't mind paying a little money to get these easily. Or if there is a way to download all of these games in one go would be so convenient.

Man those controllers are busted! I'd rather have a blurry thumb-butt.
The only issues with these are the shitty controllers and having to configure everything. Button layouts, video settings all need tweaking. Also some games require you to change the emulator cores. Make sure you have good knowledge of retroarch before you get this.
