My laggoto is pretty laid back but she gets very hyper and active in the evening (her devil dog hours) she loves tug of war she likes to play fetch but won’t always give up the ball she is very social and very friendly (sometimes too friendly) the only times she barks at people is when someone standing still but otherwise she loves going up to strangers and being petted and getting treats and playing with dogs she all in all she amazing dog 🐶🐶🐶
Our lagotto loved fetch. He never wanted to stop. We'd have to stop him when it was too hot. He went blind and would do fetch first by hearing, but eventually he would fetch by smell. He loved fetch. He was a sweet, wonderful dog. We miss him and want another lagotto.
My Lagotto girl will not chasing a toy in feach and seek but if you give her a new toy she will take it with her when she goes out and have it with her all the time also in side the house and she knows/remember if she has stuff out side. She is very clever and clearly the smartest of my dogs. She is a digger even thought she digs less now than she did when she was younger. She is a very happy dog, not very hyper but when outside she is playing and having fun, inside she is very calm.
Mine is super cute, loves to cuddle, easy to call back at all times even she is only 4 months old. But it’s very hard for her to stand still xD … so „stay“ is a command we have to work on ;)
We bought our first lagotto puppy 3 yrs ago. He was perfect !!! He was our baby boy and a wonderful companion and friend for kids and families. We moved from Canada to Florida when he was a few months old. He was born with colon tumors and lost him a few weeks ago🙏🏻🥲 Did someone else had had this experience? We were told he is a pure bread. Any help for our peace of mind is greatly appreciated.
I have this breed, this dog is really good i'm always with her. But if you want to buy this breed and are not active (or your family) please don't buy it. I had friends ho bought it and all had to give them up bicos they couldn't keep up! I mean we take walks every day and she is outside for 5 hours or more every day (not on a leash). If you can match their energy buy it you will not regt it this dog saved my life
Also they are very sensitive, so be sure it was taken care of in a good way before you buy it, or you'll regret it. They are not like goldies or labradors that will 'fully' bounce back
I have a four year old Lagotto, very affectionate and intelligent, but beware the coat is a nightmare. If you have enough cash to pay for a regular trim OK, but we do not. If she is in the field digging for moles, she refuses to come home until she chooses. I have had many different breeds of dogs in my life but I would never get another Lagotto.

My lagotto (9 months) loves fetch ,nosework and hikes he is very active outside but chill at home
Love ours, a 18 months old lagotto. He is a beautiful, active and super smart boy. Lots of work but so much fun with him around.

I can't differentiate between a lagotto a barbet and a spanish water dog
This breed is rare and hard to find. A akc market place search turned up nothing. Ziggy Marley has one.
