Hearing Dr. Grande describe their story I thought this was a middle-aged couple dealing with a mid-life crisis, and then when I saw the picture I had to stop myself from chuckling. They have 4 kids, constantly argue, husband got a vasectomy, wife is probably cheating, and they're still in their early or mid 20's? These people live fast!

There are many older couples who go through the same thing too. People change with time then they fall out love. Apparently, she changed and fell out of love with him after she struggled with poor mental health.

    • @LisaAnn777
      @LisaAnn777 ปีที่แล้ว

@@cutienerdgirl that's ok, but they still made a dumb decision to have 4 kids. Its a serious choice to even have one they damn well better be prepared. The kids needs should be put before what they both want. They don't love each other anymore then tough, they need to take care of those kids first then they can do whatever. Dating while they have kids just adds so much more into the lives of the children who now have to see all of their drama.
This is the problem people don't understand the responsibility that comes with it.
Why do so many just excuse this type of behavior for parents?

Have to admit, after watching Dr. Grande's analysis, there's a strong urge to watch the actual video under scrutiny, but good sense dictates that these trash channels should not be given any views. To that end, I'm thankful to Dr. Grande for satisfying his viewers' morbid curiosity without actually necessitating the original drivel to be endured.

Oscar is cool with it and probably feels like Kyra is a catch for him. Kyra is the more sexually curious, probably the more libidinous, and has FOMO about casual anonymous sex she sees people their age enjoying. She thinks she can probably trade up once she's had her fill of gettin that care-free stranger booty. Of course they are immature, they became parents at 16. They never got married, and Kyra twisted Oscar’s arm for years to get him to propose because it seemed like he did not want to or have any intention of marrying her. They never planned to become parents together and they were kids at the time themselves, so it’s not a surprise that now they would find themselves incompatible. I also don’t think it’s unreasonable for Kyra to wonder what it would be like to be in another relationship since she has never had a relationship as an adult besides her high school baby daddy.

As a long-time teacher, I have seen this situation over and over. A young couple gets tired of each other, decides to split, and then almost invariably they start jumping from one partner to another to another. Gave up trying to ask children to tell the class about their families--"Does that include my stepbrothers and sisters? my half brothers and sisters? the kids that belong to the dad or mom my dad or mom is living with right now?" A real tragedy for children who crave a unified family in my opinion.

Having your children IN videos is okay, if you understand putting your children out there carries a small risk. But forcing them to be in videos when they clearly don’t want to, or thinking it’s funny to post videos of your child having an anxiety attack or needs comforting and you’re shoving a camera in their face, or playing mean pranks on them, makes me sick.

At first I was like "Four kids by 25?" But then I realized that we had three before I turned 24🤣(we still have just three and I'm 38). Having kids, especially a lot of kids at a young age, and maintaining a relationship is hard. I think she kept having kids so she wouldn't have to face the fact that she doesn't know who she is. Once he got a vasectomy (regardless of her wishes in the matter) she had to face the fact that she doesn't know herself outside of being a baby factory, and that's a scary thing to face at first. The way she ended the relationship was very immature. She has a lot of growing up to do. She now has to decide if she's going to do it. I chose to, but I wasn't so much immature as lost. Whatever they are doing, they need to figure out how get to some kind of concrete stability for the sake of those children. Growing up in limbo makes can make children feel very insecure.

I’ve been alive for awhile. I’ve seen this so many times. she got bored and met someone else but she wants to keep up appearances and keep the channel bringing in money. The guy is going to have a really rude awakening when he realizes that she’s been cheating on him for awhile, he will get ordered to pay ~40% of his post tax income to her and he may get kicked out of his house via an “ex parte” restraining order. Perhaps the new guy will even take his spot on the channel. They can rename it chadKbaby

Way oversimplified. Not every divorce ends in losing half your stuff. Especially being so young there wasn’t even alimony involved in my personal experience. I’ve been cheated on and I don’t think you can claim motivation for that either. You’ve been alive for a while but you’ve never been a young couple displaying their entire family online for money. Nor have you been either one of the people involved in their relationship.

This is exactly me, given a hypothetical situation, debating with myself on various possible scenarios and outcomes rofl. This is just pure indulgence Dr. Grande I am INTP too and what you're doing is exactly what I love to do analyzing hahaha thank you sir, you're my virtual friend who I debate with during these videos. I know you use OCEAN, but sorry when I meet my fellow INTP I cannot help but silently laugh inside.

History proves breakups end people's interest in watching these types of shows. Remember "Little People" on TLC? They will likely see a boost in their viewership initially due to channels like yours bringing attention to their drama, but I have no interest in watching people destroy their family as entertainment.

Channels like OKBaby make me nauseous. Exploiting their kids for views and money....apparently the new norm. Yikes.

You do realize these young people have been friends most their life and were teenage parents which plays hugely into their dynamic.

Why do people watch such channels???? It's all fake, empty and depressing. There's nothing satisfying about lifestyle channels. Is it that the people watching have no life and need to live vicariously through these people? And as for the children, what's so interesting about watching other people's kids? Do the people watching have no children of their own? Furthermore, children aren't supposed to be on display for strangers, have no say in been seen by millions and aren't their authentic selves in front of cameras which can mess up their development mentally and spiritually. I really don't get any of it.

If your spouse suddenly starts being mean, distant, suggesting you deserve better, wanting you to find someone else, wanting to 'find' themselves - they are likely cheating or want to.
They're VERY obvious red flags. Her saying there were problems for the past year (he was surprised by that) - She has been cheating for a year

Fantastic analysis as always Dr Grande…if anything, credit to Oscar for having a vasectomy (or, at least telling her he had one :), and not bringing any more unconsenting family channel cast members into the world. 4 young children is a lot for the strongest and most mature relationships.
Looking forward to seeing what the cacti get up to for Valentine’s Day 👑

To those who wonder why there's this kind of private "announcement" on YT or TV, I have a couple of ideas:
    1. That's literally how they make a living. It's demand and supply, if you're watching then there're people making them. That's why most TV and news are driven toward click-bait instead of true journalism. And hey, it's free speech.
    2. I used to despise these kinds of shows/content, but looking through the lens of a psychologist like Dr. Grande or a Couple therapist like Dr. Kirk Honda, you actually learn a lot and can relate to your own experience.

That was a really deep analysis of a family channel breakup. “The heart wants what it wants.” That was perfect.
I actually have felt that way in a relationship. My first relationship. I fell out of love. I ended up breaking his heart, but I wanted to go to college in Germany and focus on my studies. Glad I listened to my heart. I felt awful for hurting him, but 20 was too young for me to be in a serious relationship. I didn’t get married until I was 30.

I'm sorry but when you have 4 kids the heart wants what the heart wants is not a good enough reason to blow up a family of 4 little kids. That's being so so selfish. Her wants should come after the wants and needs of her kids. She's cheating on him and trying to make it about anything other than the truth.

Love you Dr. Grande.....I hate these family blogs that exploit their children. It amazes me how stupid and boring these videos are and yet they make a ton of money putting all the crap out for the world to see. Thank you Dr. You are awesome.

Yes, that one made me LOL too. I had never heard of these people until today. I watched one video of theirs, with Oscar taking the kids to the park (back in 2019). Then the ride home showcased Oscar having difficulty "holding it in" because there were no open bathrooms at the park. I thought to myself, "Really? This is what this TH-cam channel is all about? It's not for me." In the very beginning of the video the kids were cute, but I could barely make it to the end of the 13-minute long video.

How refreshing! A man decides he's done with having children and takes responsibility for his own fertility instead of expecting his mate to take care of the birth control. It wouldn't hurt for him to up his handyman skills but, in my opinion, this is a real man.

My husband and I had premarital counseling before we married where we discussed children, money, goals etc I was shocked we hadn't discussed much and even less in detail. Turned out we had similar views, although not by design, perhaps luck. I encourage all couples to take advantage of this, maybe the divorce rate would drop. I've not ever watched Instagram or TikTok. Everything I've heard about them tells me I've made a good decision. Thank you Dr. Although I'm concerned about your online choices, I believe your education and insight will buffer the possible toxic reactions.
