That was a good demonstration for power outage and power return to normal all fully automatic. Excellent and I believe that generator switch is what all generators need. Otherwise, when using your generator, one doesn't know when the utility power comes on.
It's a nice easy ATS but doesn't make sense using it with a generator any larger than 3kw since you're not utilizing the full capacity and only limited to 2 plugs 2400 watt total. Do you make larger capacity ST switch I could buy??
So, when it auto-starts the generator & changes the power at the switch from grid to generator, are all the power sockets on the generator still putting out voltage also?(50amp socket) I don't have the generator yet & not sure if the functions on the generator are different/restricted when the ST switch is attached & in use. I don't wanna buy the generator & get the ST switch only to find out that something in the generator will restrict the on-board plugs from working when ST Switch in use.
If it doesn't pass through 240 and the output is 120v 20amp...what is the purpose of having it feed off the 240? I want something that passes 240v/30A!

Hello. What if I just use it as stand by starter?? I have another Ats to switch betwen utility power and the generator Power, when generator starts the main ats switch to the generator mode. But the gen must by start manually. So, can I use the westinghouse ats just to start and stop the gen when utility pawer is off???
hello I live in cuba but my family going to buy a Westinghouse WGen9500DF Dual Fuel for me in United State. so how can i buy the smart switch too????, and there is abailable a more powerful smart switch????
I just need the trip function. If I have the 50amp socket hooked up to my inverter that supplies backup charging power to my battery bank, If the voltage from a battery bank/inverter drops below a specific voltage to the ST switch, will that be enough to simulate a power outage to the 30amp socket and kick the generator on?
@@WestinghouseProducts Is this an automated response!? Simple question. WITH THE ST SWITCH HOOKED UP LIKE THE MANUAL SAYS, WILL IT TRIGGER THE GENERATOR IF IT SEES LOW VOLTAGE?! This is not a complicated question nor does it have anything to do with it being hooked up incorrectly.
Switch for a single outlet, is a joke. This switch should interface with 50A plug and utilize the entire load of the generator connected to breakout panel.

When the generator is running will it run back through the powerlines ?

Good freekin question!
Yea, why bottleneck the system? Why go from 30A 120/240v and reduce it to 20A 120v. This makes NO SENSE.
So you still have to leave a porch door open to run the smart switch cable into the home for the box? Just seems like an expensive extension cord
Wow this was a good explanation on how it woks thanks for sharing
this information 😊
Great demo

120/240v power in and only 120v out? WHY? Why not the same L14-30? That would be ACTUALLY useful.
So only two devices can be plugged in to that switch?

We apologize, as we have not tested on this, and we can only recommend the use as described in the manual.

I've been trying to find this out as well. Kind of a waste to get a 9500 watt generator and only use 20 amps. @westinghouse outdoor power equipment.
How much??? Have You sales representative in México????
These transfer switches are not attainable anymore making this feature obsolete
I guess you mean a different thing than I do when you say "smart"
Neat, but not a smart device.
