This video was really helpful! Even your 'day in the life of a researcher' videos are so informative. I've just started a Nuffield placement in biomedical sciences as well and I'm really enjoying it! Would really recommend everyone to apply for scheme as it gives you a taste of working in research. :)
Aw I'm glad you think so! and wow really? I'm so happy for you that you're enjoying it! and yeah I totally agree! you learn so much, even if its in a short space of time! :)
I just graduated with a degree in Biochemistry, been looking for a job (mostly in the NHS) since then and really struggling! Love your videos and I'm finding them soooo helpful, thankyou! X
Aw I know the feeling, I think we all just have to stick at it and hope that we find our place eventually! and I am so glad you are finding them helpful! :) best of luck job hunting! x
Im starting college in 2 weeks, in the us. I managed to get a job as a pharmacy technician at walgreens at the age of 16! I started off just stocking shelves and working in the photo department. As soon as a position became available in the pharmacy I was re-interviewed and got the job! It may make it easier to start off somewhere smaller and build your way up in a company
Could you make a video on interview tips? Especially for medicine/biomedicine. And how you would answer common interview questions like tell me about yourself? Thank you :)
yeah absolutely! I haven't done any medicine interviews myself, but I have done a biomed one! but I can ask my friends who have done an interview to share their tips!
I'm actually doing a Nuffield research placement at a university right now and we don't actually get paid! I'm doing microbiology and a bit of chemistry, and I'm LOVING it so far. Seeing and taking part in real life research is really exciting, and I'm sure that research will be what I'll get into in the future :)
oh no way that's so exciting! and I'm so happy you're enjoying it!! and it's great that you know that's what you want to do, I wish you all the best with it! :)
I m pursuing Bachelor's in medical laboratory technology. Freshers can able to do hcpc registration without work experience? Or internship programs will help in registration. Thank you
just want to ask. are you from a medicine or biomedical background? since you always talk abt biomedical thing but you also have a video about medicine diaries.
I am from a bomedicine background - but I want to go and study medicine, so my medicine diaries is everything I have to do in the run up to medicine, so entrance exams, writing personal statement, getting work experience etc. :)
I need a lot of help I am interested with biomedical but I have no work experience and I would like to just get a taster of how it would be but due to coved and everything I don't think there's anywhere i could go and I couldn't do anything during the summer during lockdown. Does any body know and virtual work experience for biomedical, I think it came a thing with the corona virus. Please help
I don't know much about that I'm afraid! but try searching it online or ring up and ask the admissions people at universities that offer the course :) x
Hello. once again very informative tnx a lot. i just want to know whether there are universities in uk for someone who has finished higher national diploma in biomedical science n particularly which provides student loans?. bcz thats my future plan😊😊
Hi! you are welcome :) and universities don't offer the loans specifically, it is done through student finance uk, which you can search and get more information! as far as the courses, I don't know in very much detail but I would say go look at university websites and see what they say in the requirement section :)
Due to Covid, all my work experience and volunteering that I had organised for summer has been cancelled, do you have an suggestions on how I can get some sort of science related work experience within the next few months?
ahh I'm really sorry to hear that ): I think this has happened to a number of students and it must be very frustrating! I will try and make a video answering your question

Gillian I applied for that earlier in year 12 and didn't get it
I was so gutted
Juliana B That sucks :( i'm sure there's loads of other stuff you can do where you can gain just as much experience
Same I applied for that two years in a row but still didn't get in. Haven't got any lab work experience even after contacting several hospitals
