@@CameronForrester Unfortunately, I can't see them making something like this with SNES titles. Mainly due to the form factor very deliberately mimicking the classic Game and Watch units.
Which means no shoulder buttons, with the systems themselves being very tiny. And while a few games might be able to get away with this without compromise, Earthbound is not one of them.
Mainly because Earthbound specifically uses the L button as an instant interaction button, and Select as a replacement B button.
It's pretty unique among JRPGs, in that this layout lets you play through the game with only your left hand.
You might be able to make it work, if you want to drop the bicycle bell and that whole one-hand method, but most SNES games wouldn't work. Stuffing a total of EIGHT face buttons (the default face buttons and both shoulder buttons) would just be a nightmare on such a small system.
Maybe they could swing a GBA (Six face buttons, much more manageable with care), but SNES would be awful.

    Little minor things about this:
    - USB charge cable is on the side of the stand, where the Triforce logo is.
    - Hold A for 5 seconds when starting a new file for any of the three main games and you start with full hearts.
    - Link's Awakening includes an option to switch between the default full screen and the original aspect ratio.
    - Hold A for 5 seconds on the Vermin title screen to access the ultra hard Game C.
    - Hold A for 5 seconds on the Timer game to access a different mode where the timer counts up and you have to defeat a different enemy setup.
    - The Timer mode has three different stages, and has separate scoreboards for not just the three stages, but for all 10 minute intervals. (i.e. Score for Stage 1 on 1 minute timer, score for Stage 1 on 2 minute timer, etc.)
    - When on the Clock mode, you can play that game at any time just by using the controls. You can also set it so that the clock will always stay on to use it as a proper clock.
    - Hold A for five seconds on the Clock mode to turn on the music and sound effects. Hold A for another five seconds to turn it back off.
    - Not a tip, but this is actually the first time the original Link's Awakening has been re-released. Every other release has been the DX version. No idea if it still includes all the map skipping glitches that the DX version fixed, though.

I must be retro enough to remember the map skipping was caused by going into the inventory was it by pressing select as soon as the screen phase appeared and if done right link and all objects would hilariously fly off to the left side of the screen kind of like the old GB Tamagotchi game where you would clean up the screen with the flush icon xD

The “colored” version of Link’s awakening was released after and was named “Link’s awakening DX”, and they didn’t mention it was the DX version. I think it could just be the size of the roms in the flash memory that made them use this one to save a few Kilobytes?

    • @harveybrooks2597

The original Link's Awakening came out in 1993 and the DX version came out 5 years later for the GameBoy Color.
The Game & Watch has plenty of space for whatever roms but to me the colour palette of the DX version looks horrible, basic and too bright, it hasn't aged well so the original GameBoy DMG greyscale suits the Game & Watch and looks good in my opinion.

It's nice to see the attention to detail that Nintendo built into this with the frame-work inside around the illuminated back cover TriForce emblem... I noticed that backlight effect very quickly, but not having taken it apart, I didn't know just how much it had been designed into the casing!....
There's also a bunch of button-press 'secrets' built into this one.... 'MadLittlePixel' has an excellent video showing how to access them....!

One reason to mod these is to put recreations of the original Game and Watch games on it. There are people who've traced all the images from various Game and Watch's and then figured out the programming to essentially emulate them. That's what Nintendo should have done on these.

It’s also nice to see the original GB Link’s Awakening on here since I feel like it’s become largely forgotten over the years. Even when they do bring Gameboy over to NSO, it’ll likely be the colorized version of Link’s Awakening.

It's just like the N64 Zelda games, only good enough for them to port them for streaming and to make money on them every year but, screw all of us that want the games on Cartridge and don't want their membership, and even more be able to play them without an internet connection.
