This group has got me through a lot, first time I remembered seeing them was when we took my great grandmother to I believe standing room only recording. She was in a wheelchair, but we always had a great time in Tuscaloosa
With Ray Dean Reese mentoring him, this young man has a fair chance at carrying on the legacy, given his raw talent. I have been a fan since my teens, and Drew comes the closest to filling those huge shoes!
@@leelamgan1934 love the Kingsmen but the passage of time has taken Jim Hamil and Eldridge Fox, Ernie Phillips who filled in so often is also missed I like the little lineup singing now but I really don't think it will truly be THE Kingsmen until they start traveling with a live band again
@@johntabler349I also miss the great band sound, but it is sadly a thing of the past, and it isn't likely we will see that again. I think this is the best line up I have seen them have, all around sound, in a long while. I dearly loved Ernie Phillips, my all time favorite. I also loved his son, Eric, who sang with MTQ. Very few travel with a band now, sadly.
@@leelamgan1934 I think that will change because it is still a business and I feel the market will demand live musicians be reinstated I may be wrong but too many listeners feel the way we do and will gravitate to live musicians and others will follow suit because even Gospel music is a copycat industry
Given the shoes that Drew was filling, he did a great job. Mostly chest voice bass singing and with time he will get lower. Ray Dean style seems to come naturally to Drew.

I talked with him afterward. He is learning palette singing like Ray. I think he is off to a great start.
