Then, this "New" Bass Singer left The Kingsmen Quartet...& the search was on again, for another New Bass Singer. What gives? Why did Drew Laney leave The Kingsmen Quartet, after only about a year, or so?
@@ronaldshank7589 drew laney left the kingsmen simply because he wanted to spend more time at home. soon after he left the kingsmen he got engaged. he wanted to be with his family. the kingsmen made it very clear that they are all on good terms and ray and drew still have a very good relationship as does he with the rest of the kingsmen. there’s no drama behind it at all.
The Kingmen are my favorite Southern Gospel Quartet and Ray has been with the group for over 50 yrs and looks so happy and is so cherished by us all, i guess they are grooming this young bass singer to take over one day and what a great young bass voice and you can tell he's so happy for the Quartet that God has sent him to minister. 🙏 🙏 🙏
A dual bass song, pretty cool. The young guy has a great voice, though he needs to be careful with the gum while signing. Jay Dean has hung in there while many from the prior group have passed on. Great to see him still belt out the low notes.
We just saw them at the Gospel Jubilee in Shipshewana Indiana over the weekend. Ray was there as well, and he sang on just a couple of songs. The rest of the show was with Drew.
I totally agree with you. Ray owns the quartet and Ray knew this would happen eventually and he found a bass singer that loves the Kingsmen and that he can mentor.
I have been listening to this group since the early 80'. Best group ever in Southern gospel music . I miss little Ernie Phillips, and Gary Sheppard's tenor voices
I'm so thankful that the savior gave me life
This shows what a true mentor looks like!! You hang right there with your apprentice and lift them up until they are ready.

Does Ray not sing anymore

He's basically doing what Hamill did

If you're talking about the new Bass Singer, then apparently, that didn't happen. Who's singing Bass for The Kingsmen Quartet now?
