What CD is this???? I want to buy it
They need to learn the old time spirituals - they could tear it up with their vocals on those kinds of songs...
I'm guessing the NQC happened in the evening several hours after the attacks, the way it looks.
Those girls sing better than their Momma. HAA! She's got good harmony but she's not a soloist...
19:10 sweetest song I know
2:50 tell me the story
Glory Glory Glory I am dancing before the Lord he sea me tap dancing Hallelujah Jesus is Lord King of Kings Lord of lords Glory InJesus Majestic Name Hallelujah Jesus Christ of Nazareth Son of Thy Living God Glory Amen Amen ❤😊
I just love this. I would love to see this same package again.
They are supposed to have another reunion on July 5, 2025 at the Singing in the Smokies.
I loves you all, I am sharing with joy.🙏🙏🙏
I would get so tickled when he started into that shenanigans but they're evidently used to it. You notice they don't even bat an eye when he starts in. Such pretty girls too - all three of them are so pretty in their own way and they all three look different enough that they have their own individual beauty. Fun to hear the girls sing by themselves.
Yes, I miss this group.
I can't imagine telling 2001 me that this was a glimpse of what the mighty Kingsmen would become with tracks becoming the norm rather than a three-piece band. Also, a rare live performance of a lot of these songs as the group name went on hiatus right months after the "I Will" album - which I believe was the best of this era of the group along with the Old-Time Way project - was released. Also, DYK, there is a radio version of "One Way Trip" that features Randy Crawford recorded as the lead singer rather Bryan Hutson, who was the lead singer at the time the album was released, but left shortly thereafter.
Think of the annual Tuscaloosa Fireman's Sing with 15,000 people in the arena to see the mighty Kingsmen in the 80s. Even when they weren't as popular 20 years later, there was still a big fight over the group since there was still a lot of money involved. My understanding is that Foxy used money from another business to pay for the full band at the Kingsmen's peak. He sure did love southern gospel quartet singing. I agree with you. "I Will" was the best of that era. "God Sits On High" was a very good one too, but that was the Carolina Boys. They showed the NQC who is boss, didn't they! When I think of the best Kingsmen recordings ever, most are from the 70s-90s, but "I Will" is in there. "Old Time Way" is another good one. "Battle Cry" is the best one since then, in my opinion. Thanks for the info on Randy Crawford. I did not know that.
@Classic.Southern.Gospel I remember at the time, I had just seen them as the Kmen before Bryan left and right after Randy joined. And I was listening to our local radio and he had been dubbed in as the lead vocal. Probably a piece of lost SG media now. Sent to just radio play. Most probably got destroyed.
That would be cool to hear Crawford on the studio cut of “One Way Trip”!
Love how Karen and Charlotte came in for robe and crown!
As low as Wyatt is, i think he could give some of the greatest basses of yesteryear a run for their money.
BEAUTIFUL SONG AND AMEN LOVE THIS SONG GOD BLESS YOU ALL
James Gordon Freeze is one of the best bass guitarists!

Yes, the Greenes were one of my favorites. In my opinion, the Greenes "Glimpse of Glory" CD is one of the best of all time.
Thanks Eric for sharing,blessing
Why Wasn't he Singing With his Parents and His Sister?
Kirk is Roger's brother, not his son. Kirk sang with the Cathedrals 1977-1983. Then, he left and formed a trio with his brother Roger and his wife Debra. They sang together until about 1994. He then started singing solo. The Talleys disbanded, and started again with Roger, Debra, and their daughter Lauren around 1997. They sang together for about 20 years. Kirk doesn't sing any more because he has the same condition that Gerald Wolfe has.
Like to hear this group,They live what they sang.
Any more of the McKameys to come?
I hope so
Love the greens miss Tony
One "Bad" Thing???!, That One "Bad" Thing Wasn't THE Bad Thing, The ONLY BAD Thing Is UNBELIEF.

Sorry, I don't remember.

Sheryl, every time I watch this I am moved by your tears as Eli sings The Lord is My Strength. It's been three months, what brought on those tears?
When you lose you ur Momma, different things can bring tears out of nowhere.
Fun music
We lost a ton of these that my dad had. I always enjoyed watching these programs. Thanks for posting and keep em coming!
I miss her
The Nashville Network owns the copyright for all the songs on the Down By The Tabernacle video. This was originally a Gaither Homecoming video. It was the first concert performance of the Homecoming gathering in 1991.
There are two different tapings put together for the Down By The Tabernacle video.
The song Tell Me was originally on the album It's Beginning To Rain. I wrote the song with Rob Bahlmer in 1985.
Most of Down By The Tabernacle was filmed at the TNN studios. There was an opium den underneath that kept venting into the Homecoming Concert above. No one could avoid getting high. Most of the Homecoming artists were badly offended. And TNN then owned the copyright for all the songs on this video and they control which versions get published and viewed.
I Go To The Rock was a song I wrote with Larnell Harris. It was written in 1982. Larnell Harris had the original copyright.
Thanks for all of the information. An opium den? That's sad that these gospel singers had to endure that smell, and yet they still sounded great.
