Great tips! I already do most of them. My mom taught me a tip when cooking: Start with a sink of clean dishwater and clean as you go! That way, when you're done with cooking (and eating) and don't feel like doing much, you don't have much left!
very true...I have not used the dishwasher in 21 years...I use a mild soap+baking soda+vinegar combo and wash as soon as the dish hits the sink...it makes cleaning a breeze:)
Kay, I love the tip about using command cord organizers on large appliances!!! I'm always looking to eliminate cord clutter and it's tough to do. Thanks!
Someone who finally isn’t all about “nesting” the Tupperware! Thank you!! I HATE searching for lids. I just keep everything together and it saves my sanity.
The container/lid conundrum can be solved by buying different volume containers all with the same lid. The containers can then nest and the lids can be kept on a door caddy, and you just lift the size of container you need and every lid fits. Of course, you might want to have a few irregular sizes, but that works for most of your needs.
if the oven drawer gets heated when cooking it is a warming drawer at the very least. command hooks? brilliant. Neighbors who insist I should use top shelves of cabinet? cause I only have 4 upper cabinets? stupid. at running into 7 decades quickly w terminal cancer I just don't see the need to speed up my own demise by using a step ladder only to find myself on the floor broken ... literally. Nor do I feel the need to limit my utensils or pots and pans just because I am living blissfully alone. Thanks for showing the drawer of utensils, the one w all the gadgets and the knife drawer, there is only 2 of you so I feel the love. thank you for establishing how close to put what. I have a kitchenette attached to my kitchen where stands in all its glory a metal shelving unit where all canned foods live and another one with all pots, pans, baking etc. I added shelves to allow my storage at proper heights and still way under weight limit. I have a chair and a very small table for my personal eating there also. "but where will you sit your dinner guests?" in a restaurant. the kitchenette is just 8x8 ft. I am old, keeping it clean, on levels I can safely reach, still finding new recipes, watching my favorite soprano who offers help and hints, supports clutter as an individual thing. I am not a minimalist just keep downsizing things I dont want or can no longer use. oh, and has a spoiled dog just like me lol thanks for all you do.
The container lids with or under the containers is a must. I recently moved and I had large cabinet under counter drawers (oh I miss them so much!) which I also divided with plastic shoe boxes to keep things neat. When it came time to move some did not have lids with them which meant I could not pack them as they were in the drawers!! I found that I had done that all over the house over the years and it was a buggar to match all of the larger containers with the lids!! Lesson learned. Also I use a three tier organizer right next to my stove to keep all my plates. What a time saver this is for us as we are always using different sized plates throughout the day. Great tips here!! 😉
I discovered your videos just a few months ago. I’ve truly enjoyed watching them. You are a delight, and very entertaining. Plus the info you provide is so helpful. And, girl! So glad to finally hear someone with the correct information about fridge crisper drawers! That aesthetic fridge thing might be pretty, but not practical or economical! Thanks again for your videos, keep them coming…
I'm so glad you told us about Mealime. We had our first try at it tonight. We did the Salmon and Asparagus dinner. It was amazing! In less than 30 minutes our dinner was on the table. I will be using this app a lot more.
I’m a very organized person, especially my kitchen. You just taught me something great! The command hooks on my small appliances! Thank you for sharing! Great video! 😍
This is the first time I watched your videos and I am a fan already! I love how real and fun you are. I have a much smaller kitchen and I am getting tired of the lack of space to store stuff. My first thought? Buy a bigger house! My second thought? I can’t afford it 🤷🏼♀️, so I realized that what I need is to get rid of “I might use it” kind of stuff. I definitely need a containers’ declutter. I am going to move the stuff that I don’t use often further away like you suggested. It made me realize that I have stuff of the same kind in different cabinets. I feel better already just with the inspiration you gave me. I can visualize what I am going to do. My relationship with my kitchen right now is ‘get in, do what needs to be done and get out fast’, so yes I don’t like my kitchen. I need to fall in love again with it. Thank you so much! 🤗❤️
When we moved into our brand new home, I set my kitchen up right away. I have a baking center, where my stand mixer is, and everything I need for baking. I also have a cupboard for all of my plug in appliances...rice cooker, dehydrator, waffle iron etc. My everyday dishes and glassware are in one cupboard right above my dishwasher, all of my under the sink needs are organized in matching bins. A n organized kitchen is a must for easy cooking and baking. lots of aqua going on in my home too ;)
I don't often comment on videos, but I just had to tell you how much I enjoyed this one for many reasons. I like the way that you make suggestions, not orders. The fact that your countertops actually have the things you use often on them makes your kitchen a warmer, welcoming workplace, rather than sterile. Lazy susans, my kitchen has 9 of them. Weirdly, I have 3 of them on my base cabinet lazy susan. When I open it, they are on the right hand side in the front and make a lot of smaller items easier to find. So much easier to spin a small one than dig or turn the whole unit. Lastly, love the command hooks, will be checking those out, for sure. Thanks.
Good job on video! We have two drawers and put unmatched food storage containers and lids in one, the other has matched sets. It changes depending on what's clean/dirty and being used. Saves so much time when I'm packing lunches.
Just found your channel and enjoyed it! Gonna look for those command cord bundlers and hope it will say on the pkg how much heat they will tolerate cause would love to use them on my crock pots. These are great ideas for the church fellowship hall kitchen!
Yay!!! I don't know what I was thinking about the crockpot thing though...I don't know if the adhesive will be able to tolerate the heat of it either! I was all crazy when I said that! LOL
I love your videos -- a great idea about glass food containers. This year I organized my containers and lids separately -- I HATED it! So, I decided to de-clutter the containers and store the ones I kept with their lids on top -- what a game changer! An aside, I'm an opera fan and would love to see one of your performances if we're ever in Boston.
Great tips :-) I setup my kitchen in a similar way a few years back and it made such a big difference (especially the prep drawer). I find keeping the lid with the container is helpful too because then I don't end up with a bunch of containers that I don't use. I have just what I need.
Hi Kay!! Started watching your channel the first time because of Clover....and now because I love your happy personality!! My kitchen, since I downsized to a smaller apartment, is so small. Being organized is a challenge and hope I pick up some great tips from you. Please give Clover some snuggles from my Katie Rose and me!!!! ((Hugs)), Jodi
This is the first video I've seen of you and I just have to say that you are so stinkin' cute that I ended up subscribing! Thanks for the organizational help.
I always keep the lids on my containers. If not, my husband would not use them or he would get frustrated and buy new ones. Things we use frequently we keep out or nearby. Group like items together. I am totally on board with you.
Very useful tips! Thank you. I think we do about 1/2 of them in our kitchen. The cord command thingy looks neat. Will have to research those more. Also, the lazy Susans might be good to try in some of the large cabinets especially for baking/cooking items.
Yay clover, he was like ,I'm seriously not moving from this spot, then just like magic he heard ball in the hall, wide awake, amazing oh and your tips were good too lol xx
Ohhhhh! I don't know if that idea has been out there, but I heard it FIRST from you! Command hooks for appliance cords?!?! Genius!! Thanks for all the tips. I keep thinking one day I'll make use of a lazy Susan. Downside is our cabinet shelves don't have much space at all between them. Womp, womp. 😉
Dear Kay (Is it Kay with an ‘e’ ie Kaye ?) I really like your happy fun manner as well as your thoroughness and commonsense! Thanks for another good video!
I store my cookie sheets and cooling racks in the warming drawer. Easy to remove if we have guests and a big holiday, but since I bake cookies more frequently than holidays/company they are stored closer.
Thank you so much a good evening laugh - great tips saving the video to a playlist that when we move I can get things in order from the start thanks again you are awesome and loving the puppy 0:)
I use pyrex glass bowls so I hate nesting the bowls and keeping lips separately. Takes too much time and I hate the sound of containers hitting each other when I am grabbing them.
Hi There, just found your channel and I love it!!! You have such a sweet bubbly personality and you being a professional organizer, the combination of the two make your videos so inspiring. Clover is such a sweetheart as well as so handsome. So glad I found your channel and look forward to more of your vlogs!!!
Funny video. And great tips. I do and agree with everything you said and do except for the lazy Susans. I just hate lazy Susans. I'm only 5'4" and too old to get up on ladders and step stools, so there is nothing on the top shelf of any of my cabinets.🤣 I could use one of those command cord organizer with my SMEG toaster. Love the cameo. Did you enjoy the B-A-L-L play in the hall. Thanks for sharing. 💖🐶💖
In the U.K. when we send something/someone to exile we say “send them/it to Coventry” 👍 Also... I wish I had so much room in my kitchen! Completely jealous.
You are absolutely adorable! I have four dogs, so I created a drawer and part of a cabinet for the fur babies so I can feed them and give them their supplements and snacks easily and they know where to congregate for their meals and treats. We have an odd open concept situation with two triangular shaped base cabinets on either side of the sink and figuring out how to make the most of the shape towards the back makes me crazy, still looking for a way to utilize the space...any suggestions? Cheers!
Ooh, I hate triangle cabinets! I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like Rev-a-shelf may make something for triangle shelves, but I normally advise people just to put a turntable in there and make peace with having nothing in that tiny triangle in the back. It's such a waste.
I have a little drawer that’s about 7” deep where it all goes! I am receiving some silicone baking mats today so that I don’t have to use so much foil and parchment paper!
I stack all of my storage containers inside of each other and stack the lids on top. I don’t have enough room to leave the lids on top of each container.
I was in Home Goods the other day and saw that they had a lot of things in the blue that match your utensils and Keriug. How accurate is your laser measure.
I gotta check Home Goods (I should stay out of there, because that place is my Kryptonite)! The laser measure is VERY accurate. Down to the 32nd of an inch.
Stay tuned until the end for a Clover cameo!!
The Organized Soprano it was so funny how he reacted !😆🐶

That cord trick on the appliances is genius!!!
Alice Manfrida As soon as I saw that trick I was like, go and buy those hooks

OMG Clover’s reaction at the word ball is just to cute!!! 🥰
Thanks for a great video! Got inspirert to clean and organise my kitchen. 🥰
The command hook to control cords is great ( all this time I would use the twist ties to manage Lool)

Love, love, LOVE this video! Thanks Kay! We need so much help! Thanks!!!
Blessings from TX
Very practical tips that are easy to incorporate into your kitchen-thanks! Love the Clover footage!!
I have had the exact same immersion blender since 2001! It belonged to my mother-in-law before that. Still works perfectly.
One thing that people don't usually do is putting the plates and bowls near the dishwasher so it is easier to unload.
Kaberr ONeill I do :)
LOVE the Command Hook idea
Oh my goodness Clover! I love the command hook idea. Thanks.
Just found your channel. I love your energy and personality. I think I’m going too. Enjoy finding out more about getting organized.
You're so smart. I love it.
GREAT TIPS. ESPECIALLY ON COMMAND HOOKS ON APPLIANCES WITH CORDS.

Beautiful sweater! Great tips. Ball in the hall was great!
I'm a big lazy Susan fan, too! They're great for my spices. Just wish I could find them here in Germany.
KaLeigh There are many DIY tutorials of lazy Susan on TH-cam. Good luck making your own!
Good to know I've been using most of these tips already! 😉 Such a good real video! 💕
That's awesome! Thank you!
Love the command hooks for the appliance cords! Great idea! I’m checking for those tomorrrowe.
I have the same immersion blender, and I've had it about as long as you! i hope i have it forever.

Yes, Clover perked up instantaneously. So cute.
LOL “Ball in the Hall” gets a massive reaction. If we don’t start it within 2 minutes of my saying it, he starts whining 🤣
Great Tips Kay. Thanks for sharing
Great tips; needed my Clo-fix.

Hi Kay, how do you like your knife dock and would u recommend them? Thanks for your response.

I’m totally going to start saying send them to Coventry now! 🤣
Hi Kay! Would you please tell me where you found that cord bundled on your mixer? Thanks! Carol
It’s the command cord bundler! I got it from TCS (container store) but I think Target sells them too!
Love the Command hooks. . . but on a slow cooker?! Mine gets really hot on the outside. Please explain.
You’re right! I didn’t even think of that! LOL 😂 SKIP THE SLOW COOKER!
The camera was very disrespectful! hahaha Also, congrats on having 26K subscribers!! This will make live videos even more crazy
Thank you! I need to schedule a live soon!
It is cute that you call your kitchen tiny. Mine is like 1/5 of it :) Let's see if I can improve it with your Tipps
I had a tinier one back in the day! I know the struggle is real 🤣
Can you link the command hooks for wrapping up appliance cords?
Yup! Let me fix the description! :)
Which meal planning program do you use? I couldn’t make it out... great video, by the way, LOL
It's called Mealime and it's AMAZING!
Lots of good, practical tips. Who's the guy at 6:33?
It's a meme! It's Nick Young and it's something people post when things don't make sense LOL knowyourmeme.com/memes/confused-nick-young
7:59: The Twilight Zone classified this area as The Corn Field😁
Is that a blue and white rug in your kitchen, did you get that at Marshall’s I have the same one! 😊
I got it from Target!
Sorry Kay had to fast forward and get my Clover the Bean fix and then watch the video.
OMG I just found two drawers in the kitchen I've been living in for almost 3 years 😅😂 Thank you so much 😍 How can I have overlooked those? 1😂😂😂😂
LOL!!! How'd you discover them!?
Because of your video 😍😅 I searched for a drawer under my oven and found even another one that was hidden under my regular drawers 😂😂😂😂
@@selinap9999 🤣🤣🤣🤣 GOLD 🤣🤣🤣
And...great channel btw 😍😍 Love your positive attitude 🤗☺
How do you organize your items like foil, wax paper, storage bags, etc.?
I have a little drawer that’s about 7” deep where it all goes! I am receiving some silicone baking mats today so that I don’t have to use so much foil and parchment paper!
Great ideas! You're so funny.
what about all the appliances and canisters and short drawers a average knife needs to set diangle in drawer
I'm confused about what you're asking? I'm sorry :(
sorry that is what my problems are kitchen is large lots of cabinets but always a but
I stack all of my storage containers inside of each other and stack the lids on top. I don’t have enough room to leave the lids on top of each container.
Very practicle...mwah
I was in Home Goods the other day and saw that they had a lot of things in the blue that match your utensils and Keriug. How accurate is your laser measure.
I gotta check Home Goods (I should stay out of there, because that place is my Kryptonite)! The laser measure is VERY accurate. Down to the 32nd of an inch.
My mother used Velveeta box bottoms.in the fifties. I still save them because they are a perfect size. Junk drawer organizer!
