Irons are not really dangerous if you know how to use them and if you are using the dryer sponge 🧽 you still have to get fabric softener for them so what do you do with the rest of it ? But that’s still a good idea 💡!
Great tips. Loved the anti wrinkle spray and sorting directly from the dryer tino separate bins for each person. I have a similar system for sorting laundry before washing. One bin for each type of laundry. For example dark clothes in one bin, light clothes in another and one for cotton to be washed at higher temperature. The bins are no larger than what fits into the washing machine, so when the bin is full it is time to wash. That way we’re always on top of the laundry situation. Been using this system for more than 25 years and it just works.
Haha! That intro was hilarious! - I love the color of her laundry room! It's so bright and welcoming! Laundry was once my favorite chore! We recently moved, and now our laundry room is the in basement and it feels like a dungeon. Perhaps some cheery paint and better lighting will do the trick! - thank you for this video!
I've been using the sponges since you posted this a few months ago and I love it.. I am using up out dryer sheets and will no longer be purchasing more! Thank you.. clothes smell great!
@WholeSoul Mama- do you use it like that on a sponge and put it in the dryer?? That's a great idea! I knew white vinegar is great for laundry, but if it could be combined with the sponges and fabric softener that's great!
Charlie's voiceover was great. To do a great wrinkle release, I throw a handful of ice cubes in with whatever I'm trying to dewrinkle and let the dryer run till you can't hear the ice banging around any more. Works like a charm on everything including jeans.
You might want to check out the ingredients (of dryer sheets & fabric softener), nasty (even cancerous) stuff, I heard. 😱 Best to go natural with wool balls + a few drops of your favorite essential oil. 💧 Other “organizing enthusiasts” show this hack here on TH-cam too, one sells her own oils in tiny little bottles. I buy big oil bottles from Now brand thru Amazon. 😂
Love the hubs help on the intro! Lazy susan in the laundry room....yes! Why didn't I think of that! I needed that tip. I have them in other spaces in my 🏠.
Such a great intro!!! Loved it!!! Tell Charlie his voiceover made me die laughing!!! Such an awesome job!!! The tips in this, I LOVE!!! Love the fabric softener and wrinkle release ideas!!❤ Tell Jess I don't envy her laundry duty at all. Her laundry room, I do. Lol!!! I have a laundry closet.....like in my hallway...ugh!!
I have a laundry closet too. If you have any space on the sides (if your machines are stacked) then you could find some kind of system for that skinny section next to them where you could put baskets maybe? Or if it's in the hall and you have one of those cube storage devices, honestly you could fold the clothes and put them in the cubes with each cube clearly marked for each child or person in your house. :) Or any kind of hallway/entrance way type cabinet or sideboard. You can decorate the top to suit your style, then put some of those cube bins or even some of the Dollar Tree trays she's shown us, depending on the amount of space. Hope those ideas help!
Yes, beth. Dying, also!! The dramatic presentation and conveyance of frustration USING ONLY HER HANDS with the iron just killed me! I could not have done this better myself! And I've even done a little acting! I just love this family!
I love how the kids are responsible for putting their own clothes away. Laundry was my chore growing up (I love to do laundry) and I would place each person's items on their bed and it was their responsibility to put them away. I LOOVE Fels-Naptha!!! I love the smell of it, plus I use it in my DIY laundry soap. I use vinegar with lavender essential oil in the fabric softener dispenser in my washing machine. Great video!
I thought about it but wondered if the sponge deteriorate and leave little bits on my clothing. Also the idea of wringing out a sponge everytime you dry clothes means I'd always have to dry my hands every time. Currently, I reuse dryer sheets by putting a few drops of Downy on them while in a container. They're ready to use every time, laundry smells great, I haven't spent money on sponges and that one bottle of Downy lasts all year. I think I got that tip from a Cheapskate channel. Anyway, good luck to you guys who try out the sponge idea.
“Emergency Supplies - Zombies” 🤣 Love how she’s helping her kids to be independent and responsible for their own clothes! Good mom LOVE the fabric softener sponge idea!!!
I do this and we do so much laundry that the softener/water mix doesn't even last the week. We only have one sponge we use so we dont make too much solution in advance but it will run out within a few days with constant use
The tiffany blue color on the wall, is soo cheerful. I like the sponge idea. I cut my sheets in half, because I don't like the buildup on clothes. Thank you for being so nice and cheerful.
That intro was perfect! He's so good at it 😂 also I use dryer balls (no fabric softener anywhere in the laundry routine 🤷🏻♀️) and it cuts down on dryer time for sure!! Only comes out static-y if it was over dried. A quick spray from a water bottle fixes that. I do love the wrinkle release spray!!
A lot of us don’t have nice shelves & laundry rooms like this. Need video on how to organize older houses that have small spaces & unique spaces. Love u & your channel!💕💕💕
OMG! Did I mention that I truly love you! This video was amazing! I truly enjoyed it especially because I am going to implement those same ideas in my laundry room. Awesome video! ! ! Thanks for sharing!
Omg! You made me cry with the last portion of the video! Sometimes we fortgot how powerful we are... and we just need a little motivation! I am also working from home and my 2 kids are here.. we are in the adjustment process.. is not perfect but We got this!
Oh my goodness you Moms are incredible! How do you do it? I’m just a single woman and it’s all I can do to just care for myself. Seriously, you are amazing.
This was one of the best videos that you have done. 😂 😂 you always add some little kind of blooper or maybe it’s the blonde hair 😂 😂 😂 I have always a loved your channel and no matter how many videos that I have seen of yours. I always seem to learn something from your channel.
I fully agree with the Fell's Naphta soap. I keep it on hand and my mom used it all the time also. Disagree with the wrinkle free spray. That t-shirt still needs ironing. Sorry.. Ironing helps you to look neat and put together. YES I even iron and crease my jeans. Very classy and dressy looking.
You guys are such a beautiful couple. May God bless you with many more healthy and happy years together. So excited for you guys. The big MILLION is right around the corner. Tfs.
I love how you all have these special rooms for laundry in the usa. 😀 Here in europe more often then not a washer and dryer are just added to either the attic, the bathroom or even the kitchen. We make it work though and since most of our houses are way smaller we grow up using command hooks and utilizing every inch of the house. We don't know any better. I love it.
I’ve watched you almost 2 years, how I’ve not seen this I have no idea! Thanks for the tips you share & the “recipes” to make home keeping easier for us home momagers!!
Dryer sheets and fabric softener are not good for your machines or your clothes. Ask a repairman. The residue left behind builds up on clothes and in the machines shortening the life of both and the effectiveness of your machine. The more residue build up, the less effective a garment can be cleaned. Residue build up is also a great place for bacterial growth. One of the reasons you might have stiff clothes when drying without softeners or your clothes don’t smell fresh is that the detergent hasn’t been fully rinsed out. Don’t overload.More detergent doesn’t mean more cleaning. Longer wash time does. If you have hard water get a water softener or use washing soda to soften water so you get better cleaning and rinsing. Use White vinegar in place of the commercial softeners. It will eventually help remove all the built up residue and has some softening effects without residue. You will be surprised how much cleaner and softer your clothes are once the residues are gone. If you need fragrance on your clothes, put a few drops of essential oil on a cloth and throw in dryer with your clothes. Use dryer balls(tennis balls work). They also help “soften” and fluff clothes and decrease drying time.
Also Calgon makes a water softener for laundry.. been a life saver for me. It's liquid so I can use it in my front loader with my liquid detergents, powder does not work with my water where I currently live.
@@BronxFinest2481 Also I heard from a repairman that the vinegar will eventually destroy your rubber hoses causing them to become dry and brittle. Don't know if it's true or not. I do use fabric softener but occasionally run towels through with just vinegar. I can't stand stiff staticy clothes.
Loved the intro. I need all the help I can get with laundry. I think in the last 20 years there was one day that I had no laundry. Thanks for the great tips.
The intro was fantastic!! If no one has mentioned it - you look gorgeous in that color! That Laundry room looks awesome! Thanks for the Fabric Softener tips - sponges & spray - I'll definitely try them!
My favorite laundry tip! Simply wet spot with water. Rub spot with Ivory bar soap! Yes... IVORY BAR SOAP! Rub and launder per directions. Works for OLD grease stains on t-shirts, mascara, make up and any grease or oil product on fabric. Even works on fabric furniture. Just rinse with water by blotting.
oh my gosh Kathryn!!!! I found some of your very first videos. Wow how you and your family have grown. The one I watched you had camera in hand while trying to make wall art with TP rolls. What a hoot. Your as sweet now as you were then just a bit more together. CONGRATULATIONS on (if my math is correct) over 10 years of do it on a dime. YOU ROCK!!!! I’m so Grateful I found you as o celebrate my third year with you. ❤️👏🏻👍🏼
This had me chuckling and remembering my childhood times at grandparents while watching infomercials. 😂 So awesome! It was perfect! Hubby did a good job.
Great video & tips. A lot of houses in the UK don’t have a laundry/utility room & have to have the washing machine in the kitchen. Often there is no room for a tumble dryer. I can’t stand washing around the house all day & put it away as soon as I get it out of the tumble dryer. Charlie did a brill voiceover.😀
I just gotta say, seeing your organizing videos is like a sigh of relief and really motivates me to serve myself and my home by creating a system that works. Keep at it girl!!
OMG I love Charlie's voiceover.....HAHAHA....that was perfect! Thanks for sharing!
Love you Jia! Your hubby should do it too!

I loved the intro. Charlie is a good sport!
Lydia Senn Nicest guy, EVER !!!
That was great :D
Lydia Senn me to
He has a GREAT voice for it too!!
I thought it was a commercial for the Appliance Direct stores from here in Orlando...
I love the coffee bar idea
I loved Charlie’s introduction! Lol! Thanks for the great tips! I’m starting laundry right away! Have a groovy weekend! 👍👍👍😀
Oh the intro was amazing!!!!!! the basket per kid is awesome!
I always have a smile after watching your videos! Thanks for shining your light!
garden gnome I know, right!! She should do a conference!! It’d be so cool to meet her!!
I CANNOT GIVE ENOUGH THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE!!! TY TY TY!
I absolutely loved the intro!! Charlie did am excellent job. It sounded like a real commercial. Love the tips.
I absolutely love the fact you include your family in making the videos. Thank you it’s so refreshing!
Great tips. Loved the anti wrinkle spray and sorting directly from the dryer tino separate bins for each person. I have a similar system for sorting laundry before washing. Loved these tips!!! Especially the one where we separate all the kids laundry in their own basket for them to take care of! 🙌🙌🙌
I've been using the sponges since you posted this a few months ago and I love it.. I am using up out dryer sheets and will no longer be purchasing more! Thank you.. clothes smell great!
How often do you change the liquid with the softener?
I use three parts white vinegar to one part fabric softener and it stops build up in fabrics. And the vinegar smell disappears! LOVE this video!
I use vinegar in my wash as well it softens deoderizes and helps keep the lint off of clothes
If I may ask, do you use this recipe in conjunction with the jar of sponges like she did? I'd love to try this.
I've heard of using vinegar but read that it will destroy the rubber hoses. Do you find that to be true? I would love to try it.
@WholeSoul Mama- do you use it like that on a sponge and put it in the dryer?? That's a great idea! I knew white vinegar is great for laundry, but if it could be combined with the sponges and fabric softener that's great!
aqua fina how much? I’ve never heard of vinegar being used in laundry before
Charlie's voiceover was great. To do a great wrinkle release, I throw a handful of ice cubes in with whatever I'm trying to dewrinkle and let the dryer run till you can't hear the ice banging around any more. Works like a charm on everything including jeans.
I do that too, just with a wet cloth. My mom taught me this years ago.
Hello
Love the dryer sheet hack with sponges. Going to DT today to get sponges! YOU ARE SO AWESOME
No
Brenda Bell ?????
Me too! I’m going to try it out!
Did it work well?
You might want to check out the ingredients (of dryer sheets & fabric softener), nasty (even cancerous) stuff, I heard. 😱 Best to go natural with wool balls + a few drops of your favorite essential oil. 💧
Other “organizing enthusiasts” show this hack here on TH-cam too, one sells her own oils in tiny little bottles. I buy big oil bottles from Now brand thru Amazon. 😂
I love the sponge idea instead of dryer sheets. Less waste is such a great idea. I'm trying this one for sure.
Love the hubs help on the intro! Lazy susan in the laundry room....yes! Why didn't I think of that! I needed that tip. I have them in other spaces in my 🏠.
Dryer sponges hack is brilliant. Gonna try it.
Such a great intro!!! Loved it!!! Tell Charlie his voiceover made me die laughing!!! Such an awesome job!!! The tips in this, I LOVE!!! I don't have a washer & dryer 😢 I'd chop off my hair for a closet unit
The next one - I want Owen to do the voiceover/intro! :)

Your friend had me at “zombies” and I love that intro! 😂
Omg. The best yet. I have watched this 3 times so far and see things I didn't see before. Love you Kathryn!!!
I am so going to try the sponge with fabric softener trick!!!!!!!
I am also going to try that trick and the wrinkle spray!
@@emmac5350 I used to use the wrinkle spray and then I discovered a travel steamer on Amazon - total game changer!!

“Emergency Supplies - Zombies” 🤣
Love how she’s helping her kids to be independent and responsible for their own clothes! Good mom
LOVE the fabric softener sponge idea!!!
Love how you have your hubby helping with videos.
This fabric softener sponge situation just changed my life!!!
Kiera Jacobs ah! I can’t wait to try it
Drea Alonso Did you try the sponge dryer sheet hack?
How was it. And what fabric softener do you use?
I loved Charlie's voice over in the beginning. These are such great tips. I am definitely trying the fabric softener sponges.
I like the sponge dryer sheet idea, but was wondering how often you would recommend changing out the water/fabric softener solution.
True. Anyone tried it?
Still wondering
Wouldn't recommend doing it. Google what's inside fabric softener, I wouldn't want that on my clean clothes 😖
Borax has saved so many of my clothes from what seemed like impossible stains (tumeric, ground in dirt of rugs) hang in the sun and bam like new.
I love that Hubby got involved! Great video Catherine!

When we lived in Brazil, we loved their coconut soap bars. They can be used for laundry and even dishes.
Thank you Kathryn love your simple straight forward application of useful tips👖👚
I am so trying the sponge and fabric softener
Your videos are changing my home one room at a time. I love your videos
I like when Charlie gets involved! Never a dull moment! LOL 👍
Really random, but I love the floor mat in front of the washer and dryer. Where did she get that?
Alyssa McGray I have the same question!!
Alyssa McGray she commented somewhere else Ballard designs

Oh gosh I use sponges for fabric softener. I started when the huge bottle I bought was super thick. Sooo helpful to not waste a bulk supply!
I would love to see something like this for us who have a "laundry hallway"
I've got a similar problem, mines more like a laundry nook, it's like 6x6 and that includes the washer, drier and a water heater.
Oh my goodness you Moms are incredible! How do you do it? I’m just a single woman and it’s all I can do to just care for myself. Seriously, you are amazing.

Great job, Charlie! Katheryn, you're acting in the beginning was great. You two are the best!
Charlie sounds like Chef John from Food Wishes! Just me? 😄 Loved it.

I do the sponge dryer sheets but i use 3 cups vinegar and 1 cup water with about 20 drops of essential oil. Works just as good as fabric softner.
That intro is amazing ! 😂👍🏽
Your tips and tricks are always practical and doable unlike some I've seen. Thank you so much!
I use white vinegar as a wrinkle eraser, its cheaper!:), two parts vinegar one part water. Thanks for sharing! Blessings thru your day! Teresa
Do you spray and run your hand down like in this video?
I just put a wet cloth and run the touch up cycle to get out wrinkles. My mom taught me that years ago.
I just want that mat in the floor in front of the washer/dryer with the washing instructions on it. So cute.
LOL...love the intro 😍👍
1:08 LOL ☠️Watch out for them ZOMBIES...lol

Dryer sheets and fabric softener are not good for your machines or your clothes. Ask a repairman. The residue left behind builds up on clothes and in the machines shortening the life of both and the effectiveness of your machine. The more residue build up, the less effective a garment can be cleaned. Residue build up is also a great place for bacterial growth. One of the reasons you might have stiff clothes when drying without softeners or your clothes don’t smell fresh is that the detergent hasn’t been fully rinsed out. Also Calgon makes a water softener for laundry.. been a life saver for me. It's liquid so I can use it in my front loader with my liquid detergents, powder does not work with my water where I currently live.
Felted wool balls with a few drops of essential oil works great. Earth friendly.
Also, fabric softener is super toxic!
I do this and my clothes still smell like vinegar or nothing at all. It's so frustrating.
