Thank you to everyone who took part and we really hope this video can help you around the short green! We have now drawn a winner and the winner is Peter Svanbeg! Huge congratulations to you and hopefully you will have your brand new wedge very soon👍
Thank you! And thank you for all your work. I really appreciate your channel and it's been helping my awful golf get a little less awful! :) Did you receive my email? Best regards Peter
Love the video guys, its exactly what I have been doing for the last 20yrs except for I open my stance and clubface a little bit which allows me to follow the target line a fraction longer, which in turn means less room for error. Everyone wondered how I chip so well , well you guys just gave my secret away lol. Great video .
My issue is. I play on poorly maintained courses. And sometimes the ball is on hard ground barley grass at all sometimes it's baked dirt. This is when I hit the ball with the base of the foot of the club and over shoot because I can't hit the ground at all. Literally a putter works better. Which I've started using

This great advice and very clear. I have come to realise this is very similar to how I have been chipping the ball but will the club more forward. Now I know what I should be doing and with drills to practice hopefully my short game cam take a leap forward.
I love these guys! They are fully responsible for me now shooting in the low to mid 80s now! I have been struggling with my short chips as of late and I think these tips will definitely help! Thanks guys and continue doing what you do!
These videos are very well presented (humorous, yet informative) and not overloaded with excessive details. The newest chipping video does a great job of presenting two very different approaches and makes me want to get to the practice greens to try both asap. Thanks.
I've been struggling with my chipping lately. I tried this technique and my chipping improved immediately. With more practice, I know my confidence will increase.
Just amazing...so this lesson is in direct contrast from what my pro taught me (he taught the forward shaft-lean + opening face to expose bounce)...however, I WAS susceptible to the dreaded STUB into the ground. I've now used your lesson for a round and it worked LIKE A CHARM! I feel like this was one of the most valuable lessons I've EVER had in 20+ years playing & taking lessons here & there. I wish I had learned this years ago...sometimes all you need is for someone to show you. Thanks guys!
🏌️⛳️ Ive been watching you guys for about 6 Years. My brother an i use to dress the same when we would have scrambles. We both would study your videos and practice in the yard. I have plenty of videos of his swing. It was great! Because of you guys i have all these videos of him. So thank you. 🙏 Unfortunately he died in a tragic car accident April 14 this year. He lives on in our hearts. I LOVE YOU GUYS! ❤️
I like the fact that there are many ways to accomplish the same thing. That being said....the key is consistency. This drill will definitely help me achieve that goal. Thanks mates!!
I have struggled with chipping yips for years, and this video, more than any other video I've watched, or even lessons, helped me understand that it is the fear of hitting the ground that is the main culprit!!!! Thank you so much for the help! I feel like I have a chance to turn the page on the chip yips finally!!!
This is the best tip I have ever received from a golf channel. My chipping has improved dramatically. It's increased my confidence with my stroke, so my yips are gone! I can consistently get the ball on the green, and now I'm working on distance control. Thank you both very much!
This is a revelation, just been out on my front lawn trying this and using the bounce of the club is so easy by not forward leaning the shaft. Even my bad ones were good!! Thanks Guys, love it.
Chipping and shortgame as a sub-scratch golfer has always been one of the best parts of my game. I made what was a difficult decision at the time, 4 years ago, to almost take all wrists out and adopt the Jason Day technique and I've never looked back. I teach this to people week in week out and yet to have a single complaint ⛳
best tip i have had yet, thank you!!! Had the chipping yips and now am hitting crisper chips. I love the two tees 2in back.... I use the hinge and hold with hitting behind the the ball and have become so much more consistent!! TY
Only just startet golfing, but are completely smitten already :-) and these videos are a much valued supplement to the tips and teachings from mentors and trainer. thank You guys for doing them.
Absolutely the best chipping tutorial I have ever seen! Always been a fan of the dead-hand wedge technique and as with most amateurs who are bew to golf, have struggled with inconsistent chipping. I live in sunny San Diego and most of the courses I play have tight lies. Made the small adjustment of hitting an inch behind the ball to my current technique and I was AMAZED at the consistent contact I was getting! I use 3 wedges (52/56/60°) and this technique works for all of them. As stated in the video, ball flught is a little higher then what I was used to, but its an easy adjustment to get used to. What I really like the most is I no longer have to think if I am chipping or pitching and what technique should I use. With this new process, you simply have to take a slightly wider stance and rotate the club back a little more depending on the distance you are trying hit. Kudos to both of you! Well deserved pat on the elbow! Cheers
Sweet to see that what ive been doing for two years or so is actually not wrong at all! Thanks for the drills! Its hopefully bringing more consistency!
Watched an older Roger Cleveland video that explained exactly what you are talking about. Using the bounce and a more neutral shaft position. That video changed my chipping forever. Saved by the bounce more times than I can count. Way better than sticking the edge into the ground in front of you.
Loved the tip on chipping near/around the green. I definitely had the yips on these short chips-chunks/skulls. I practiced today focusing on brushing the sole about an inch behind the ball and it worked! Got rid of my yips almost instantly. Thanks so much!
This was so different than what I believed but when I tried it...it worked. I now focus on hitting the ground and my efforts are really on direction and speed. Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the clarification. The tour pro at my local golf course advocates shaft lean and ball back in stance and I think I have chunked enough dirt to form a new trench on the course. Naturally it didn’t feel right to me so having a more neutral club and using the bounce of my wedges I’m happy to see you guys agree and are teaching this way!
Hitting the ground on my chips is the perfect advice to help my short game. I do this in the sand traps, with good results, now I'll use this on my chips. Thanks.
This is so simple. I wish I had this information years ago. I have been doing the drills and it fills so much more natural then anything I have done before.
I've been having TROUBLE with my chipping which looks easy on the face of it!! But listening and watching this video made good sense. I started practising it straight away, it takes a little time, but results are much better than my frustrating shots which end up losing me points and PINTS!!!
SUCH AN EASY CORRECTION, no fancy words, etc, great video angles to check the swings. Love it, the easiest tip so far and I have seen a few! Keep it up guys, btw my first visit of many from now on!
I have had the yips in chipping for years! Use to be a good short game player but was so frustrated and just about gave up the game! A friend of mind told me about this tip and I have been seriously working on my chipping! Instead of losing 6 to 7 shots from around the green, I have now the confidence with my short game. I would stress “relaxed hands” along with this practice prior to your round! It always gave me confidence! A year ago, I was a 9 handicap... today a 4.... all because of chipping!!
Great to have it explained in theory, so I could get it and practising better - and correct - this like a little game changer for the Short game! Thank you guys!
This makes so much sense allowing the club to do its job. It also keeps your swing in simple form not purposely doing a motion that could sneak into your intermediate iron swing
Great way to teach golf….understanding the “intention” made it so easy for me. I let my brain work out naturally what had to be done which meant I wasn’t stood over the ball with a head full of technical thoughts. It worked in the garden so fingers crossed it’ll work on the course tomorrow!
this is the single biggest stroke wasting component of my game. once the chipping problem is solved, i will move to the next level. thank you for your awesome tips. i know it will help me immensely!!
I can't wait to try this new technique , thanks for sharing. I've always lived your instructional videos. You break them down so we can't understand and execute. ... WELL DONE GENTLEMEN, Patrick
So many wasted years chipping with my hands way forward; this excellent lesson will have a big impact on lots of players short game. Keep up the excellent work guys!
Hey guys, it really works. Incredible! Find it difficult to remember every time but more I succeed it’s a no brainer. Cheers guys keep it up. Love your channel.
Thanks for this lesson. I've always been confused between pitching and chipping. Keeping the clubface neutral through the ball was the new thought for me. I've tried to hit down on the ball to take a divot in front of the ball. It hasn't been pretty.
This, like many of your videos do a great job of explaining and demonstrating the desired technique without being gimmicky. This make a lot of sense. I hope to change my pattern of pin high in 2..., In the hole with a 6!
The ground bounce and butt of club on the kip to minimize rambling of arms away from the body makes ny chips more measured and consistence with accuracy. Thank You for minimuxpzing my mistakes!
I like the thought process behind this technique. Letting the club glide across the grind removes the fear of hitting the ground first and duffing your chip shot. Great Job Guys.
I was always told shaft forward and hit the ball first. I had no idea how that was meant to increase the consistency of a chip shot. I even practiced that way for a while but never saw results and just naturally moved to the method you guys described above. Great to see the way I have been practicing is the most consistent way to do it. I also get most my birdies (which are rare) from chipping so there you go.
Really helpful tip. I have been dying around the greens lately using old technique. 8 handicap with four or five lost strokes per round from bad chipping. Can’t wait to free up my mind using the ground first technique. Thanks for allowing for differences in personal feel and preferences while still giving concrete and helpful drills.
Short game is the critical area that is between high handicaper and low. And understanding and utilizing the bounce is the critical area between the same groups. Thank you guys.
Thanks guys, this is the tip and method I have been waiting for, this should help get me back to single digits. Very impressive way to expose the bounce and truly use it. I have been trying to hit the ball only for as long time. I have shaky hands from Crohns meds and this should help me to work with that.
Another great video guys. It somehow always seems clearer when you have 2 people discussing an element of the swing. I am currently struggling with my chipping, but will be going onto the practice ground to work using these drills. Thanks again!
Who know chipping was so simple when it’s well explained, yes practice makes it better, but listening to you guys you give hope for me who is a so so player
This drill was well explained and you made it quite simple to understand. I also enjoy many of your other videos and I continue to watch you. I live in Canada and it's a shame you are overseas, as it would be great to meet you. Thank you both for all you do.
Good video. I’ve been a high school coach for 21 years and am always look for some simple drills to help my girls with various aspects of the game. Thanks!
The statement of do you need more wrist or more body opened my eyes! I was a baseball player, so naturally I have a pretty powerful swing, but chipping has killed me for years. Keeping a bit firmer wrists and using my body to control the swing turned some serious lights on upstairs. I'm not sure if that was as clear as I wanted it to be, but you have a new subscriber!!!!! Thanks!
Promoting release by freeing your mind concerning the chunk is what this new technique is all about...it' s almost as if you are purposely trying to chunk it but because you have no forward shaft lean you actually use the bounce more...wonderful stuff

Great insight into using the bounce for forgiveness guys! I must say though my favorite shot i like to play is still the low grabby one!
This great advice and very clear. I have come to realise this is very similar to how I have been chipping the ball but will the club more forward. Now I know what I should be doing and with drills to practice hopefully my short game cam take a leap forward.
Thanks for the help. Love the videos.
I prefer body and wrist . I've tried all body but doesn't feel fluid couldn't get ball to stop. Adding wrist has gave me more confidence and control
I would love those MG2 wedges, I like to play flop shots and bump and runs
I love to hit the high 30m flop shots that end up going onto the wrong green 150m out!
Flopshots aren't meant to go 150m - they're high short distance strokes
Shlomo Ezekiel lol 😂 hes talkin about blading it 🤦♂️
Sorry, I missed it. Too early on a Sunday morning 😴😴🥴🥴........
And hit it 30m when you're trying to hit it 150 ;)
Excellent tip, thanks gents.

I've been struggling with my chipping lately. I tried this technique and my chipping improved immediately. With more practice, I know my confidence will increase.
I know this is old. But any additional advice
This channel has helped me cut down my strokes considerably! Thanks and I Am forever tuned in to toy guys.

Bryce I'm very sorry you lost your brother. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.
Yesterday must have been hard... Hope you enjoying some golf again and have great memories... Peace
Did this today! I only had 1 where I sent it through the green. All the rest landed on the green and not too far from the flag!
I love how golf can bring everyone together On this channel unlike others, no matter what skill differences.
This has changed my game, 50 chips on the front verge…no duffs, dispersion from 30’ out was unbelievable, THANKS
I like the fact that there are many ways to accomplish the same thing. That being said....the key is consistency. This drill will definitely help me achieve that goal. Thanks mates!!
This justifies my sweeping chip motion which thought it was unconventional- now its a goal to be perfected
Even though I am often on the verge of despair, I love the feeling when my ball rolls perfectly from the bunker to the hole.
I have struggled with chipping yips for years, and this video, more than any other video I've watched, or even lessons, helped me understand that it is the fear of hitting the ground that is the main culprit!!!! Love that there is no one way or “right way” to do something
One of the best parts of golf. A million ways to do it. Only the score matters.
Can say that again!
Great "hitting the ground" drill for using my pitching wedge near the green. Thank you...
Well this definitely solves about 3 years of irritation with my short game.
I think this could well in normal dry conditions, but when the ground is soft, would you still use this technique?
This is the best tip I have ever received from a golf channel. My chipping has improved dramatically. It's increased my confidence with my stroke, so my yips are gone! I can consistently get the ball on the green, and now I'm working on distance control. Thank you both very much!
This works well when the ball is “sitting up” in more lush grass.
What’s the method for dry, tight lies?
I would love a new wedge to use in my tournaments next golf season! My favorite shot to hit around the green is a bump and run with my gap wedge!
It's funny how there are many different ways to play golf🤘
Very true.
Why is it funny

Still a golf newbie and chipping is definitely my biggest worry when I play. Thanks for the clear advice, always a welcome notification
Had a lesson today from Cam Smith's coach and this is exactly what he taught me.....fantastic
Tried this out yesterday and I think it saved me a couple strokes. Thanks for another nice tip and some drills to get it consistent
This makes so much sense allowing the club to do its job. It also keeps your swing in simple form not purposely doing a motion that could sneak into your intermediate iron swing
a golf pro told me that 40 years ago...i still can't figure that out...but this vid should help me tomorrow. thanks!
Yours lessons are always helpful in that you describe why some techniques don’t work. But, even more helpful are the simple drills.
Thank you.
Love the simplicity of your teaching
Great way to teach golf….understanding the “intention” made it so easy for me. I let my brain work out naturally what had to be done which meant I wasn’t stood over the ball with a head full of technical thoughts. It worked in the garden so fingers crossed it’ll work on the course tomorrow!
this is the single biggest stroke wasting component of my game. once the chipping problem is solved, i will move to the next level. thank you for your awesome tips. i know it will help me immensely!!
This is the hundredth video on chipping I have seen but the drills are the most useful, thanks
I can't wait to try this new technique , thanks for sharing. I've always lived your instructional videos. You break them down so we can't understand and execute. ... WELL DONE GENTLEMEN, Patrick
Concise and straightforward instruction combined with simple visualization-- ready for range time
Great advice and feels much more natural for me. Phil Mick messed me up and you guys have now fixed me. Many thanks 😊
Excellent. Handle to the left thigh, regardless of wrist hinge, is a great feel and best tip.
Clear chipping concepts. Appreciated the visualizing graphics that accompanied this video.
So many wasted years chipping with my hands way forward; this excellent lesson will have a big impact on lots of players short game. Keep up the excellent work guys!
Glad I found this video. I appreciate the simple direction. I DO have the chipping yips right now and excited to work on this today. Thanks boys!

Thanks for this lesson. I've always been confused between pitching and chipping. Keeping the clubface neutral through the ball was the new thought for me. I've tried to hit down on the ball to take a divot in front of the ball. It hasn't been pretty.
I have been chunking my chips for a while. This video combined with left hand low has really made a huge difference (5 to 7 strokes) in my game!
I'd previously seen your video with James Ridyard. I've been suffering with the yips for 2 years and it hasgiven me more confidence in my short game
Excellent drill tried it last night - seen big improvement versus shaft lean approach - higher softer better !!! Thank you Tom
Truey mad a lot of sense will help my chipping more constant around greens thanks Jimmy
I tried this and it works great , I will be chipping this way for now on . Thanks guy's !
This, like many of your videos do a great job of explaining and demonstrating the desired technique without being gimmicky. This make a lot of sense. I hope to change my pattern of pin high in 2..., In the hole with a 6!
Love the chipping tip and can't wait to try it. Hope it will overcome my fear of skulling or chunking the ball while chipping.
The ground bounce and butt of club on the kip to minimize rambling of arms away from the body makes ny chips more measured and consistence with accuracy. Thank You for minimuxpzing my mistakes!
