Beautifully amazing guitar man. Congratulations. I'm 55 yo. My grandpa was a guitarist in a band that played on the radio in the 40's and 50's. He only would play a semi hollow. He showed me how versatile and reliable a semi hollow was. Pa always told me with your hands, and how you attack the strings where you pick you only needed a semi hollow it can make all the sounds of the other guitar's made out there. And he proved it to me. Enjoy man.

I love watching/listening to you and other great players with these incredible vintage instruments, but this is literally my dream guitar. Congratulations on making YOUR dream come true Justin! Just a humble suggestion: please consider using a right angle instrument cable with this one. One hard bump and you could crack that beautiful top. Cheers man

Man, more than ever I will keep the Venmo gratuities flowing your way to support your guitar habit. Congratulations on purchasing a dream come true. It’s one hell of a sound that axe has.
Regarding the tone; it has this lovely compressed mid range sound. I don’t know if it’s the guitar in combination with the amp head and the Bogner speakers but regardless, it’s definitely a money sound. Anytime an instrument or a vocal mic or whatever sounds naturally compressed, I’m already a fan. This is why I love vintage Neve gear. Those transformers compress naturally when they’re saturated. This guitar gives me the same impression. Money well worth spent!

A suggestion for video topic: insuranse of guitars and equipment. Do you have separate insurance for them and what should one expect to pay for that? And also: how do you protect your gear from being stolen, both at home, in studio and gigs.
    Just curious.

I was just at Well Strung Guitars in Farmingdale Long Island NY two weeks ago. I was there for a few hours playing guitars from $12,500 to $500,000. My 2020 58 custom shop Les Paul played and sounded better than one of many 58’s at $435,00. There not worth that kinda money. This world is full of suckers.
That $50,000 guitar is no better than a custom shop one.
Overrated, overpriced if that is what you need, so be it.

Boomer-bait is all these vintage instruments are. Some people are willing to pay out the nose for nostalgia and/or prestige. Anything to get them closer to the "better days", and anything to impress their gear-elitist friends to better fit in. Younger generations, in general, don't want them because they are way over priced and a new/er guitar sounds just as good. The very few that do are doing so in response to social pressures and romanticizing music from before they were born. It's borderline pathological.

we are just about at the cusp of it not being possible for working musicians to afford these types of instruments. 50k is steep but not impossible for a young pro. when this instrument is +90k I think it's over and complete unobtanium unless your rich.

Man, Justin that guitar sounds amazing. The tone is super warm, and deep. The sustain seemed like it would roll on indefinitely. How's it feel standing up? I've never played one, but have always been curious how they feel to play.
I just watched a short documentary with Slash, and this new record he just did doing some old school Blues. The star of the Record was his new ES 335, and I don't remember the year off hand but I wanna say it was a 61, possibly 63 even, but just like you were talking about, he was in some small guitar shop in LA that has alot of High end vintage and modern super stuff like the Gibson Custom Shop and Murphy Labs stuff. But Slash was saying he wanted to do something a bit different and outside his usual Les Paul stuff. Bit I guess the whole thing sparked Gibson to do a Signature Slash 335 of course that's a replica of his 61 or 63 ES 335, that's super expensive like yours.
That guitar sounds amazing the little riff you were doing at the beginning really sounded awesome, I don't of you were using a delay, or a speciall reverb but the guitar almost seemed to vibrate with each note. I didn't recognize the chords you were doing, thought maybe some Diminished chords with some sus 9's and 4's maybe? I've been studying some new stuff on the Triad shapes and surrounding tones with mini chords using the surrounding tones / enclosures...lol and all these modes, but still learing it all lol....see ya in a few days for my lesson W you on the 3rd.....Michael 👍
