Wow. This is why we watch the experts. I was like OMG at the start as half the tree came off...but wow....what an amazing transformation . Thanks Corin. More like this please.
Amazing Corin. Your vids are the best of all the other Bonsai vloggers by far, I only wished that I lived a little closer to Greenwood’s. Keep em coming my friend. 👌
When you started cutting off branches was thinking "what's he doing". Fair play that's why people come to Greenwood it was inspired. Huge improvement. You're a genius.
It was a very nice tree to begin with and would have been happy to keep it that way but after watching this I can honestly say corin has worked his magic and has totally transformed this tree.
Thanks Corin - a great encouragement for the amateur bonsaist whose tendency would be to work around the faults because we don't necessarily have the vision or the confidence to take what seems like a more radical approach. Going backwards to move forwards is a skill that requires courage so showing how it can be done is a really great contribution.
This kind of video, showing how one can transform a difficult blob of a tree into something quite stylish and attractive is so inspirational for so many of us, your viewers, who only get to work with such material. Please keep doing more of these. (BTW, I do think the reddish, smaller crescent looked more appropriate for this tree).
Wow! Such a great transformation Corin. I’m a novice and I purchased a Chinese Juniper from you earlier this year and it is now a blob! I will have to bring it back to you so that you can perform your magic!
Amazing to see most the tree removed just shows i'm still missing loads and need to open my eye's wider to the possibilities of trees . Excellent work again Corin loving the video's , hi Josh mate.
My first thought, looking at this tree, was: "Less is more"... Well, it happened! Sometimes you have to be brave instead of keep having a "bad feeling" with a tree. Generally, it will not improve just like that and just by itself. For me, I couldn't agree more with the choices you have made, mr Corin, and that goes for the bowl also. Let's hope there will not be too much juvenile growth. In future, some more refined wiring of the little twigs, will make this a beautiful and impressive little tree, I'm sure. And for the next few years, there will be enough growing space. Great job, great video, very instructive and useful. Thanks for sharing, once again!
What a brilliant way to start a weekend. These series of videos are great for demonstrating just what you can achieve with a little bit of thought and understanding. Thank you :)
Thanks, Corin. I have a Chinese juniper, which was twenty years old when I moved it to a large pond basket to grow on. Unfortunately, I became very ill over the past four years, which has left me limited ability to use my arms and hands. The tree has grown amazingly with the help of plenty of moss, which I layered into my bonsai gravel when repotting. Being afraid of how to approach it due to my disability, I'm now thinking of seeing if I can physically do it, as your video has helped , and encouraged me so much. Thank you, and take care....John (Belfast)
Another very helpful video especially for those of us without much experience. I like this series because most of my bonsai are not superb examples, and any tips on how to deal with flaws is welcomed and fun to put into practice. Here in Thailand 🇹🇭
A pleasure to what as always,I like this new format but also like your usual style just as much. As a beginner having the confidence to remove branches I think/know are wrong is for me one of the harder things about styling trees.
Thanks Corin. A super video. I think your customer is going to be very happy with that styling. What a change! I've never seen a pot that shape before and it made the composition.
Appreciate an autumn repot is manageable, the tree looked healthy at the start - but there was not much discussion about the root reduction or after care. hopefully others do not trip over if they try to carry out this much work on a juniper right now
One of your subscribers mentioned that your videos have a Bob Ross vibe to them. Now that I watches this video, I think he is right. And I mean that as a compliment. It makes your videos very pleasant to watch and really interesting and educational at the same time. Great transformation!
Ok great - one more question of turntable - how high and low does it go.? Also does the plate on top tilt with a lever or always straight ? And does one have to assemble it ?…. As always thanks for guidance and teaching , best wishes
Great video as always ; thnaks, question - where to buy that turntable tripod ? Do you sell them ? If not please advise where I can get similar style …..thank you
You need to forward plan, the pot makes it, imagine it in a years time once it has filled out, once the tree has more visual weight it will balance even better.
Corin this improvement series is fantastic please keep them coming
Loved to have seen the owners face when he came to pick it up but your the man. Hopefully we will see it when it recovers.
Wow. This is why we watch the experts. I was like OMG at the start as half the tree came off...but wow....what an amazing transformation . Thanks Corin. More like this please.
My oh my - what an improvement on this yet ordinary tree 😍
What a transformation!
Corin, your calm precision and explanation of every move is always an absolute joy 😊
What a fantastic imagination the artist has
Amazing Corin. Your vids are the best of all the other Bonsai vloggers by far, I only wished that I lived a little closer to Greenwood’s. Keep em coming my friend. 👌
Loving these videos. Thank you. Really appreciate the time you take to do it.
When you started cutting off branches was thinking "what's he doing". Fair play that's why people come to Greenwood it was inspired. Huge improvement. You're a genius.
I really like your improvement series. I like how the crescent pot curves into the tree. With your cutting, wiring and styling, it's a new tree.
Think this is one of the best videos i've seen, really helpful for myself who doesn't know what the hell i'm doing, thankyou
Glad you liked it!
it amazes me how you can see a tree in a tree and design, the enhancment its made is awesome as always great job
Wowser! I'll bet the owner is initially shocked at the size difference but awed at the same time, 1000% better than the original! 😍👍👌
Very Awesome Work on this Bonsai Tree 👍
It was a very nice tree to begin with and would have been happy to keep it that way but after watching this I can honestly say corin has worked his magic and has totally transformed this tree.
Fantastic decisions and amazing transformation well done!
Courageous decisions lead to marvellous outcomes. At least when Corin is the one deciding.
Stunning work, Corin - A true master making a difficult makeover look so easy - Brilliant
Big change in this "bush". Great job. Really enjoy watching these improvement videos.

Thanks for that Jeff
Corin gets better and better 😎Dennis
I admire the owner's courage, but then you are the expert! 👍
Thinking on the foot fantastic you are whatching genius fantastic 😎Dennis
Absolutely stunning result with the pot shape and tree design. Love these videos. 👩🏻🌾🪴

Good choice of pot that looks great!
Excellent work on a difficult subject.

Lovely video Corin, please keep them coming, Thankyou.
i dont know what i love more, that beard or the tree ☺thanks for the great videos.
They both need a trim !!!

Really nice transformation!

Yeah man. I love this improvement series idea. Plz keep it going.
Ah...awesome composition BTW👌
Thanks! Will do!
Excellent Corin, as always, a very enjoyable and informative series of videos. Thank you.
Fantastic makeover. And Josh really did a great job filming this and bringing attention to the details with that zoom! Excellent!!
What a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours watching this video 😎Dennis
wow it is beatiful in that pot
Drastic but wow 😎Dennis
Excellent work, shows how you visualize the end result at the start of work
A pleasure to what as always,I like this new format but also like your usual style just as much. As a beginner having the confidence to remove branches I think/know are wrong is for me one of the harder things about styling trees.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent result, pot choice is spot too 👌
Corin = superman bonsai👍
Thanks Corin. A super video. I think your customer is going to be very happy with that styling. What a change! I've never seen a pot that shape before and it made the composition.
Fantastic video, learned to see new options. Michigan USA
I was hoping you’d pick the crescent pot as soon as you offered it up!!! Love it Corin. Amazing work as always
I know you've got a good eye for design Gaz
1:13-2:13 - imagine being dressed down by Corin ~ wonder how he would describe me lol
Brilliant mind and great talent thanks for this video
Un grand merci pour la vidéo!
Well done....fantastic
很棒的改作。
Amazing transformation corin!
Corin it’s all been said, fantastic outcome to a problem tree.
Great job
Good choice of pot.
I think so too!
Amazing.
Amazing ❤
Looks great in that pot, thank you for sharing.
Very nice job corin thanks
You’re a wizard Harry!
Corin you are awsome. I don't know how you saw a semi cascade in it. But you did😮
I am in awe of your talent! Xxx
Some job that. Lovely work
Oh wow stunning !!
Appreciate an autumn repot is manageable, the tree looked healthy at the start - but there was not much discussion about the root reduction or after care.
hopefully others do not trip over if they try to carry out this much work on a juniper right now
Actually October is a fine time to do this sort of work to evergreens in the UK. The root reduction was no big issue, as is aftercare.
@greenwoodbonsaistudio again, as an instructional series you want to mention these things. No doubt you know what you are doing, it more for others
i think you should have used pot 18.46 smaller one maybe but def that color .it contrasted really well with the foliage
One of your subscribers mentioned that your videos have a Bob Ross vibe to them. Now that I watches this video, I think he is right. And I mean that as a compliment. It makes your videos very pleasant to watch and really interesting and educational at the same time. Great transformation!
Babe wake up there's a new greenwood bonsai video out 😂
Ok great - one more question of turntable - how high and low does it go.? Also does the plate on top tilt with a lever or always straight ? And does one have to assemble it ?….
As always thanks for guidance and teaching , best wishes
Reminds me of fluffing a Xmas tree
Very nice tree now. I am a bit confused about the Root cutting at this time of the year….
Autumn root pruning on evergreens in UK is common practice.
It would be interesting and helpful to know the cost of this sort of transformation please
This one was an hours work, currently charged at £60, plus £35 for the pot so £95 all in
Nice video, again. Small tip: better lower that workingtable or your back will get really mad at you.
Always done at height for the viewers benefit.
👍👌🙂
Great video as always ; thnaks, question - where to buy that turntable tripod ? Do you sell them ? If not please advise where I can get similar style …..thank you
Yes, they are on our website here -www.bonsai.co.uk/product/bonsai-tripod-turntable/
Another quick question please - the big silver scissors seems awesome too, where to buy that from please , thnaks
They are on our website here -www.bonsai.co.uk/product/greenwood-bonsai-scissors-2/
How will this tree react to a repot this time of year?
@@charlieb4011 fine. Autumn re potting for evergreens is common practice in the UK
@@greenwoodbonsaistudio wow ok didn't know that thanks. Does this apply to tropical evergreens also? Was thinking ficus and a buddhist pine
Is this work done pre- dormancy in autumn?
Yep, early Oct
Is it ok to repot juniper in October London?
@@ADNZ5442 yep mid October

well done.... but why are your hands so nice and clean?
Probably because I don't work as hard as you do Sean
I am Chuffed with the Crescent Pot and it isn't even my tree!!!!
what would this kind of work cost me Corin?
This was an hours work currently £60 plus £35 for the pot
Poore dude hade hart attack during watching video ]]]]
The pot ruins it for me
You need to forward plan, the pot makes it, imagine it in a years time once it has filled out, once the tree has more visual weight it will balance even better.
First I thought is he ruining the tree but it came out quit nice. But I must admit I don't like the pot, to loud to big to much of a distraction.
Loved to have seen the owners face when he came to pick it up but your the man. Hopefully we will see it when it recovers.
