Wait, for Motormaster. You can take off the chest/back kibble (somehow) to expose the cool circular chest/back detail use the combiner head instead of the Motormaster head and use the back as a chest, spin the limbs to the right side and you might just have a custom Age Of Extinction Galvatron!
Oh, the memories. I remember when my brother was collecting all of these. We used Motormaster, Brakeneck, and Blackjack in a stop motion video for my freshman science final project. Then I bought him Dragstrip while he was at summer camp, and he let me open it and play with it while he was gone (before he’d even touched it!). Good times.
Breakdown was never pure white. Go look at your G1 Breakdown. That's not aged coloration - that's what color he's supposed to be, and is why CW version is in fact accurate.
@@KilosFoxo Hot Rod was probably a different color because the season 3 G1 toys used an earlier design of the characters, however the point still stands as the G1 cartoon changed a bunch of different details and colors.
Deadend had one yellow streak in the g1 show eventually. Also Breakdown was always cream white in the show an in g1 toy. So I don't understand your complaining when it comes to Deadend having just one yellow streak or why Breakdown couldn't have just plain white colour

They have parts on the back that almost make the rear wheels enclosed Plus the Rear wing is different
+DeAnn Thompson well, when you're aiming for an asthetic and you miss it by a mile, isn't that a legitmate point? (Though when a toy is aiming to be RiD, Prime or Movieverse and people complain about that, I totally agree)
+The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer But it's Hasbro's license. They can change anything they want. They can do whatever they want with these characters. Also, I found it kind of hypocritical when you complain about not enough G1 things, but then you complain about Dead End 's stripe, which IS accurate to G1.
the cartoon had it sometimes, but absent others. the toy had the goldish stripe with an off center white one running down it with black pinstriping to highlight the off center white stripe. i really really liked that design and was bummed out they didn't bother with it. the Takara version skips out on the strips altogether for sake of cartoon. i don't like this, not for sake of cartoon, but because I legitimately liked the striping. i don't exactly see the problem
Also I kinda feel like you were a bit too harsh on these figures, you can’t expect four figures to be ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC as arms, legs, robots, and cars for a price point of about $15-$20 I admit, motormaster is a tad bit dicey but again, it’s cheaper and simpler than the motorsquad. Plus YOU DONT NEED BLACKJACK! I got the g2 pack, which came with him, but I don’t even use him cause he doesn’t stay on the chest. You can close the two bot mode backpack pieces and it’s fine. Summary of my rant, menasor isn’t that bad
What breaks the combined mode is Motormaster. If the robot mode arms tabbed in at two separate points and blackjack went on securely (I know of the fanmode[s]), he would be good. Yeah, the upgrade kits exist, they leave Motormaster with a terrible backpack in both modes . If those became like cannons in robot mode, it would be good.
I feel like this review just doesn't work. Mainly because you're comparing them to figures targeted towards die hard collectors that ultimately are made more for the sake of it rather than as a business. No matter what you want to believe, price is a very decisive factor on this stuff, and an incredible look sometimes cannot justify an exorbitant price point. While you're free to spend your money how you wish, it's important to avoid misrepresenting an alternative product's quality in a review for that reason, whether you realize it or not. Without something that's aiming to fill out an exorbitant price point to compare them to, the Stunticons are absolutely fantastic takes on the originals. The combiner kibble for the line in general is incredibly well-handled, since not only does it give them individual play value, but it frees up the astounding limb modes from having to incorporate the hands like FoC Bruticus. On the stunticons, the guns all store away very neatly on three of the four as a nice reference to their vehicle mode guns in G1. The foot mode is a bit small. Menasor specifically does look pretty sketchy, but it's not hard to fanmode him and basically fix everything wrong. I feel like he really should look a lot more monstrous compared to Superion with those hideous gorilla proportions and set back shoulders going a long way to making him look like he is definitely a fucking bad guy. So you have a lot of good points, but you let your high expectations override your judgment too much to really click as someone i'd watch more frequently.
i suppose so. to be fair though, a lot of my contention for the set was based on Superion being phenomenal to me. i was expecting something similar with this guy. heck even defensor has everything nailed down tight. but not Menasor. i just found it fell flat in most areas that the others in the line did astounding on. so maybe i shouldn't have emphasized the 3rd party figure so much, but i can't stress enough that it isn't why i don't like this set
You know what's funny, and I think it adds to your point, Off road was repainted into Prime breakdown for Takara's Galvatronus box set. Who'd a thought.
You're very keen on detail where I seem to just transform already !! Back then as a collector, I got two sets of this. One to open out of package & one to keep in box.
I think women seeing 20% more colors than men is probably an evolutionary trait. While men were out hunting (men do have better spacial awareness than women), women were probably picking fruits and berries. Being able to see 20% more colors comes as a great advantage when it comes to picking up ripe fruits and berries and avoiding the poisonous ones...

I want to badly to see a yard Dog Huffer, or maybe a two robot team that transforms into a flatbed truck with a three wheel forklift tucked onto the back, or maybe a Street sweeper voiced by the actor who plays Niles Crane on Frasier
Combiner Wars Motormaster has a lousy vehicle mode but great robot mode. 80's G1 Motormaster is the opposite -- great vehicle mode but lousy robot mode.
The off-white colour of Breakdown is intentional, it's supposed to be a middle ground between the plain white he was in the G1 cartoon and the yellowish white of his G1 toy
I stumbled across the G2 versions of these guys, and... I don't know what it is, but the crazy colors either made up for (or maybe ENHANCED) their strange appearance. And fine, the shape of the exhaust pipe weapons and how they fit onto the car modes don't make a lick of sense, nor would their functions as guns. Except these AREN'T guns, are they? They're MELEE weapons! After recently binging G1 again, the Stunticons' premiere episode tells us something really interesting about them that's never brought up again, but which should be REALLY important; they each carry their own personal anti-gravity generators and forcefields that allow them to do all kinds of crazier crap than most Autobots would dare. Other warring Transformers would want to play it (comparatively) safe by using guns so they can attack their enemies from a distance, but THESE guys? They should be attacking head on with the kind of zeal you'd find in suicide bombers, but with the crazy satisfaction that comes with the knowledge they're coming out of their suicide completely unharmed. Where are THOSE Stunticons?? lol
I know you’ve done this review years but after watching your diet on Legacy Dragstrip and changing your opinions years later it’s nice to know Hasbro is back to doing more combiners. I’m actually gonna be receiving CW G2 Dragstrip in the mail soon so I could enjoy the mold plus the colors which is simple yet effective. Can’t wait to form Legacy Menasor. Also on a side note yes I love Menasor plus I’m willing to buy them not just for the Combiner but the Stunticons themselves besides a team is a team but each individually unique.
I kinda enjoy that they look like their from different continuities. When I make stories for stop motion animating. I find it right (in a way). If we have versions of the same character I don't see the problem of mixing it up a bit.
Breakdown=G1 inspired, Deadend= Movie inspired, Dragstrip= TF Animated inspired, Offroad= TF Prime inspired and Motormaster= IDW inspired!!!!! that is how I think of these 5 figures even though I have Dragstrip and not the other 4 Stunticons!!!
I have to say the figures do have their flaws. Dragstrip with his little to no paint applications for robot mode, Off Road is actually pretty good, Dead End is actually great if you ignore some of the silly factors and weird paint applications, With Breakdown you can actually tab his combiner part onto his back to make him look somewhat like Sunstreaker, Motormaster had his flaws but I felt you were a little harsh on these guys. Remember, were not payin $100 for each individual limb, so for hasbro this is a step up from their last attemt *cough* *bruticus foc*. Overall I'm still impressed with your reviews. And I agree on Superion being the better with poseabillity and look. Look forward to your next review!
sorry, I seemed to have missed your comment. well, I'll reply now = P maybe a little harsh. but I still hold to a lot of the opinions here. I've come to appreciate the dead end mold, but I really don't like it for him. I have Streetwise and I do like it, but I'm still not overly crazy about it i love first aid, and I liked Offroad here i still didn't like Breakdown, I thought the white was terrible, and my experience turned me off from wanting Sunstreaker. same goes with Drag Strip/Mirage And Motormaster/Optimus is so terrible. just so awfully terrible. i know we're not paying 100 bucks a pop, but neither werewe doing so for Bruticus, Defensor, Sky Reign or Superion. one of which has become my favorite combiner figure of all time, transcending even the 600 dollar 3rd party combiners long story short. a little too harsh, yes. but only because I was expecting the same quality as wave 1, and later wave's 3 and 5
I love the difference between you and other reviewers. Like me, you like the more realistic masterpiece figures. However I am a crazy collector when it comes to gestalts. I, usually prefer the team itself. So, this for me is a great set. And I only let the breakdown colors slide because it's just like my g1 toy. So yeah
You claimed that the third party Dead End wasn't accurate to the original. In actuality, the third party version of Dead End is based on his original toy rather than his animation model.
Ok these don’t strive for vehicular accuracy. It’s never even clarified what vehicle they transform into. I got the g2 box set and was perfectly happy (except dead end getting his weapon stuck in his hand and me having to pull it out with pliers) but nothings perfect. However I must agree with your opinion on dragstrips weapon. Still like this vid though.
breakdown's hand/foot gun can be positioned where the thumb has a tab that pegs on the back and small pegs on the top of breakdown peg into the hand foot gun.
I just pray that they redesign Motormaster, instead of them making a retool of the Earthrise/Kingdom Prime. But I do have high hopes that this will be a much better Menasor than the Combiner Wars one.
I don’t agree that dragstrip sucks because I love that figure so much I got him when I was 5 or 6 but it is a special figure to me it was my favourite figure I owned and is still in my top ten favourite figures
I got the G2 gift set for Christmas and I found an easy way to fix some of Menasor's issues. And all it took was some reconfiguring. First, instead of using the standard leg configuration, I instead just left them as Motormaster's legs. This gave him a taller and more agile appearance that I really liked. Then I positioned the front ends of Dead End and Drag Strip to where they're facing upward. This makes the arms look more solid and like they're actually cars for arms. And lastly, I moved Motormaster's hands over the combiner ports and the flipped his shoulder plating and arm guards around. This made his upper body look a bit more bulkier and sort of made up for the lack of shoulder stacks the original had. I know this is useless information to you as you already sold the set and you purchased Offroad instead of Wildrider/Brakeneck, but I thought I'd share my personal experience.
Loved the review! While I can say that I have no interest picking up this combiner before or after the review, you did a great job expressing your opinion on this thing. I can really appreciate the hard work you put into this review. Stay safe with the move, and I can't wait to see the Protectobots review in the future. :)
Hopefully I'll be able to pick that up. Superion though.....ooohhhh mama that's going to be a great review. Cynthia won't let me unpack my film studio because I'm super itching to film SOMETHING with that figure it's honestly growing on me that much
Love this review! I do disagree with not loving Dead End as he's really my favorite of the group next to Motormaster in both vehicle and bot modes and think that Menasaur, although could have been a LOT better, is still pretty fun! I am annoyed that Motormaster's arms disconnect when moving the arms at the combiner ports and keep thinking that if they found some way of connecting the flaps of the truck mode to the body...maybe? That crotch flap though ...ugh. It could have used some major reengineering to keep the thighs stable.
Don't get me wrong, the mold itself is awesome, I just find Wildrider suits it waaay better. Motormaster is pretty sweet. But yeah, Menasor just sucks through and tht
The issue with Motormaster is a mis-designed thighs ratchet in both thighs that causes Menasor to stand weird, the issue was also on CW Optimus, although Motormaster had a re-release that fixed it. Optimus was also re-released as Battle Core Optimus Prime, which had the fixed thigh ratchets
There are trucks with black rims. I've driven one. And Dragstrip's alt mode is now based on a DW12 IndyCar, not formula one. Note the side pods, small rear wing, rear pods behind the rear wheels, and the simpler nose.
When you added Deadend saying, "Who cares" is from A Transformers Season 2 Episode called "Starscream's Bradage"!! I think so it been a long time since I have seen Transformers G1!!!!!
That wasn't really my critique here, but I can see where you gather that. My point was that their asthetic seemed to have been pulled from all over leaving us with this weird team that didn't seem unified in design. Either way it doesn't much matter, Hasbro is taking another crack at Menasor and just Menasor
PC-04 for Menasor exists for this set. Looks infinitely better than the official combiner. Also sucks that Break-Neck (Wildrider) is like Quickslinger. Also getting Reprolabels for all the Stuniticons (Including Blackjack). Actually your add-on review of Superion is inspiring me to perfect Menasor.
as much as he rags on the A16's i recently god my hands on the box set menasor and had my first experience with them. and yeah his points stand. the hands are too big, the feet are too small, the weapon modes look too big impractical and unusable. but i would be lying i didnt think they were kinda cool.
I really like the Motor Master and Dragtsrip figures... the rest are Crap, the combiner is awful... If you want this to look cool, you need all the upgrade kits from Perfect effect for this guy. Which will be way more expensive.
Dude. This entire video...nitpicks. I get it; some people want to see their favorite characters in the way they saw them before, but nothing is going to be perfect. Budget cuts, a focus towards KIDS, and an overall feel of, "Hey, older fans! Look! We know they exist!! Give us your cash!" Perfect example of this; the G2 sets. They recolored the original set, just so they could make more money from people who cannot function without the entire line on display. I understand the nostalgia factor and the want for characters to be "G1 accurate" or what really grind my gears "IN SCALE," but let's face it - they're toys. Toys that parents will buy for their kids to shut them up for a couple hours, or to have a little bonding moment. Either way, they're toys. If you want a "G1 accurate toy," either stomach to hunt down the G1 toy, or fork over the cash for a Masterpiece toy. Personally, I don't care about G1 accuracy or something stupid like "SCALE" when I'm gonna have giant robots fighting each other while transforming into jets, boats, and tanks, combining, and blasting the shit out of each other.
fair point about half the video. my other half of the video wa about how much better literally every other set (except for Optimus maximus) is miles better, and even the stunticons themselves are upstaged by repaints of molds they pioneered. this set is crap when compared to Superion, Defensor, Bruticus, Victorion, Computron and Sky Reign and I'm holding to it
The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer That's fine, man. I can see how superior every other combiner is...except Optimus Maximus. I'm just saying the points you bring up about the singular figures seem like nitpicks to me. It's fine you think Menasor is the worst of Combiner Wars; oh well! Everyone's got an opinion and I respect that. I'm just saying that I don't care about most the problems because I see them as they are to most people who didn't grow up with Transformers - just toys.

The weapons remind me of the Dreadnaughts. I never bought Offroad, I held off and got the TRU exclusive to complete the set.
Look forward to your next review!
sorry, I seemed to have missed your comment. well, I'll reply now = P
maybe a little harsh. but I still hold to a lot of the opinions here. I've come to appreciate the dead end mold, but I really don't like it for him. I have Streetwise and I do like it, but I'm still not overly crazy about it
i love first aid, and I liked Offroad here
i still didn't like Breakdown, I thought the white was terrible, and my experience turned me off from wanting Sunstreaker. same goes with Drag Strip/Mirage
And Motormaster/Optimus is so terrible. just so awfully terrible. i know we're not paying 100 bucks a pop, but neither werewe doing so for Bruticus, Defensor, Sky Reign or Superion. one of which has become my favorite combiner figure of all time, transcending even the 600 dollar 3rd party combiners
long story short. a little too harsh, yes. but only because I was expecting the same quality as wave 1, and later wave's 3 and 5
blastersteeljaw wait what about hi Hasbro first combiner line Power Core Combiners
So yeah
18:50 *So, you have chosen death*
Shadow the hedgehog flavor tastes a bit different this time
You claimed that the third party Dead End wasn't accurate to the original. In actuality, the third party version of Dead End is based on his original toy rather than his animation model.
He is just ranting about the stunticons
I actually like it quite a bit. Much better than dropping the bucks for a third party.
if it jives with you, awesome = P
hi lazt eye
Ok these don’t strive for vehicular accuracy. It’s never even clarified what vehicle they transform into. I got the g2 box set and was perfectly happy (except dead end getting his weapon stuck in his hand and me having to pull it out with pliers) but nothings perfect. However I must agree with your opinion on dragstrips weapon. Still like this vid though.
No offense but I kinda like the toy even the combined mode
breakdown's hand/foot gun can be positioned where the thumb has a tab that pegs on the back and small pegs on the top of breakdown peg into the hand foot gun.
You must be pretty happy that Hasbro is making Menasor 2.0. Are you planning on giving Hasbro's combiner a second chance?
Drag Strip has indeed been preordered
I just pray that they redesign Motormaster, instead of them making a retool of the Earthrise/Kingdom Prime. But I do have high hopes that this will be a much better Menasor than the Combiner Wars one.
The sword never fit on my Motormaster.
Menasor should be the powerful combiner.
The gun use in both close rage and long range
I don’t agree that dragstrip sucks because I love that figure so much I got him when I was 5 or 6 but it is a special figure to me it was my favourite figure I owned and is still in my top ten favourite figures
the yellowing on breakdown is meant to homage how the original g1 figure yellowed over time
So your biggest complaint with drag strip is that he has an accurate color scheme?
Analytical Trash all good man, I do like hearing options, and who knows. I might get this guy again one day = )
Not to defend this figure, but the g1 menasour toy was kinda short compared to other scramble city gestalt toys
The dragstrip mold is much better as mirage. Trust me. I have cw mirage and he is amazing.
This looks likes movie Galvatron.
The orange stripe is accurate to the G1 toy, there's supposed to only be one and it's supposed to be offset
Fact: the combiner wars motormaster alternate is the same as optimus and I forgot which stunticon is related to ironhide
For Offroad, there are some trucks that can actually pull off crazy stunts.
that is true. it still does seem out of place to me. sports cars and what not and then a pickup
Cynthia won't let me unpack my film studio because I'm super itching to film SOMETHING with that figure it's honestly growing on me that much
P.S. thanks = P
That front end on dragstrip broke on mine.
I LOVE the trailbreaker retool. Idk why. It just fits.
Motermaster is IDW inspired The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer!!!!!
god damn, I don't usually agree with you but the effort, the quality, and even your voice just make me want to sub... yeah I'll sub
although I agree with your opinion here
Nemesis Bloodryche haha I thank you, but out of curiosity, what don't you usually agree with? = P
The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer I dunno, can't think of anything off the top of my head... um... pineapples
AH! you hate pineapples?! how can we be so polar opposite?!?!?!?! = P
The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer I hate pineapples? I do? Do I? I don't know! Do I hate pineapples or do I pineapple pineapples? Hold up... um.... uh....
Wildrider the awesome Ferrari. And Deadend is a Porshe. I do hate how ppl change the names and different modes. The 80's characters rule
Actually, Breakdown's colour is meant to reference the fact that G1 Breakdown toys have now faded into cream.
A long review is perfect for showing off all the good and the tonnes of bad in this fig Lazy.
we all now wait for his review on legacy stunticons
Can the dinobots be a combiner team.
There are trucks with black rims. I've driven one. And Dragstrip's alt mode is now based on a DW12 IndyCar, not formula one. Note the side pods, small rear wing, rear pods behind the rear wheels, and the simpler nose.
R u going to review pc-04 , 02, and brake neck?
When you added Deadend saying, "Who cares" is from A Transformers Season 2 Episode called "Starscream's Bradage"!! I think so it been a long time since I have seen Transformers G1!!!!!
Wht the heck is Bradage?l??
Its BRIGADE
I feel like you can't handle any aesthetic that isn't G1 or G1-inspired...
That wasn't really my critique here, but I can see where you gather that. My point was that their asthetic seemed to have been pulled from all over leaving us with this weird team that didn't seem unified in design.
Either way it doesn't much matter, Hasbro is taking another crack at Menasor and just Menasor
@@TheLazyEyebrow I suppose
Well CW was years ago now so I guess it doesn't really matter now eh?
@@prismstar438 especially when supposedly they're taking another crack at specifically menasor
@@TheLazyEyebrow Lookin forward to see how that one turns out
I actually like drag strip better then everyone else just my opinion
blackjack is the best figure on this team.
You can't exactly hide a big hand/feet on a figure.
You had several mis-transformation.
And removes most of the articulation in the hips
Dead end gets a baton
I'm just saying that I don't care about most the problems because I see them as they are to most people who didn't grow up with Transformers - just toys.
haha fair enough. to be honest, I didn't actually grow up with these toys. got them when I was 18
The Lazy Eyebrow Reviewer ...Huh. Who knew.
Sam Butler
Ya know, I think you'd really dig this fan mode my friend and I came up with. (: I'll send you a pic or two later
Can you send that to me too? I'd love to see it! 😊
