      Nope, he never reached his full potential, because of personal issues.

    He's smart enough to help others and very few people on this planet do that.

    I only saw 1 player donminate Spencer Hawood. and that was Howard Porter of Villanova in 1968 when both were Sophmores in college. The game was at the Palestra in Philadelphia and Villanova beat Detroit pretty bad and Porter had 28 pts and 15 rebounds to Haywoods 15 points and i think 15 or 16 boards.Haywood ahould be in the HOF

      How would he hold up vs Bad News Barnes?

    • @stever1791
      @stever1791 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@teofemo7000 Porter or Haywood ? Porter was a great forward / center in college AT Villanova - And Haywood was just as great . Superstars they were and Wicks and Rowe at UCLA were not as good. Marvin Barnes was a Star at Providence with Ernie D. Barnes was Great too. I feel just a noth below Howard Porter and Haywood

      @@stever1791 Haywood and Barnes. Marvin had a short run at his best. They say he was amazing though crazy.

      @@teofemo7000 Yes Marvin Barnes was a little nuts. But Dave Gavitt ( HIs College coach , must of had a good relationship with him ) he wasn't as nuts in college

    I love Spencer Haywood, one of the all time great Sonics! 30 ppg 19rpg in 1969. The hold up is the NBA doesnt like that he sued them and that he got in trouble with drugs later on. On the court stuff only, he should be in, he is one of the most under rated players ever

    Great video, thanks. As a Sonic fan, it's eery to see the parallels to Shawn Kemp

      Only for about the first 4 yrs of his career. Afterward, decent to pretty good player. HOF talent, early, but .... overall lacking.

    If only the old ABA was around today. Playas could play there instead of goin all the way overseas because of the lockout. Of course it'll have its own union separate from the NBA's.

    If he didn't get addicted to coke in New York he would have been an all-time great...still a terrific player during his Sonics days

    He was awesome but if he had of spent 4yrs at Duke or NC or any major college and learned team ball he would have lead NBA teams to championships. Not enough respect is given to playing at the college level. at 4:24 the true story comes out. In the NBA I saw Rick Barry and others wear him and the Sonics out playing team ball. He was exciting to though;No doubt
