3:42 I hadn't seen the full nuzlocke, YT recommended it and I thought "funny" But now i get why this is amazing and hilarious. Starmie used CONFUSE RAY, Mr. Stake hurted himself, they said "Frenzy plant should be still ok" but ICE BEAM wasn't shot before and they thought it was a death sentence. So... Mr. Stake got confused ONE TURN BEFORE, hurting himself before a critical ICE BEAM was shot at him, surviving with 4HP, snapped out of confusion, AFTER ONE TURN CONFUSED, to deliver a super effective "FURENZY PLANTO". Mr. Stake could've died by hurting himself again but he said "I can't let my dads down, I MUST GO FURTHER BEYOND!"
I love how they say its the worst starter but proved time and again he was the better choice. And not everyone jumped on the chikarita band wagon because of them, some of us out there fell in love with chikarita when Johto began, we enjoyed the rivalry betwen pikachu and chikarita for Ash's attention

coolguyman16 judging by Kirin's play style they would have died long ago, he gets a little careless with pokemon playthroughs thats why when he got back from being sick pokemon started dying almost immediately
I like its base form, but the evolutions never did anything for me. Sometimes I don't like the way a Pokemon looks to start out and then it will grow on me over time, but it just didn't happen for Chikorita. This playthrough though, I was rooting for Mr. Stake the whole game. As soon as they named him, it made him an underdog I wanted to see succeed, and that's exactly what happened. It was hilarious seeing everyone slowly start to like the little idiot.
I too was on Mr. Stake's side. I loved how TFS took a starter I previously considered useless and turned him into their best character. He, like every other party member, had personality. After it was all over, I wondered how they could top Mr. Stake. Two Nuzlockes later, it seems they can't.

I actually had so much fun watching that Nuzlocke playthrough, like more so than every other one i've seen probably, the TFS guys just gave it so much personality!
I usually always choose Totodile or Cyndaquil through Heartgold, but this time I decided to go for Chikorita for the meme. It was a female Chikorita with a calm nature and a mischievous characteristic, so possibly had 31 EVs in special attack. I actually enjoyed using her more than I thought
Hashirama approved of that finishing frenzy plant. Mur. Stake taught Hashirama all he knew about Wood Release and taught Hashirama how to use Sage Mode.
Mr. Stake can't die. Seeing all those other pokeymens on the right just... disappear at one point is a bit disheartening. Even though THEY WILL NOT BE MISSED!
I just realized that their two fourth-gen Nuzlocke starters are polar opposites. Mr. Stake was hated and considered useless in the beginning. Raisin was loved and treated like royalty from the start. Mr. Stake would sacrifice himself for his friends. Raisin would let countless Pokémon sacrifice themselves for him.
@@Gunni4091 I swear so many people look only at the grass type and scoff, and don't realize how much bulk and utility the Chikorita line can have. Don't know about HGSS but in GSC Reflect was super useful against Falkner. Sure Jumpluff is early and can have similar utility as a defensive mon, but Jumpluff A. Can't attack at all with its attacking stats in the 50s, lesser stats other than the impressive speed, and the fact that it basically starts as a flying magikarp.

So yeah, my go to plan for the flying type Gym... was to use my grass type starter. In a set mode Nuzlocke. Where I forbid healing items in battle, so all I could do was Poison Powder synthesis

Arima Kishou Not even animewise, in ORAS Rayquaza didn't need to hold a mega stone to mega evolve just had to know dragon's ascent which was just dragon close combat. Just give the thing a life orb and have it wreck entire teams.

3:42 I hadn't seen the full nuzlocke, YT recommended it and I thought "funny"
But now i get why this is amazing and hilarious.
Starmie used CONFUSE RAY, Mr. Stake hurted himself, they said "Frenzy plant should be still ok" but ICE BEAM wasn't shot before and they thought it was a death sentence.
So... Mr. Stake got confused ONE TURN BEFORE, hurting himself before a critical ICE BEAM was shot at him, surviving with 4HP, snapped out of confusion, AFTER ONE TURN CONFUSED, to deliver a super effective "FURENZY PLANTO". Mr. Stake could've died by hurting himself again but he said "I can't let my dads down, I MUST GO FURTHER BEYOND!"
Man I miss these TFS Nuzlockes with Lani, Kirran and Grant.
That ice beam was a critical super effective hit on a confused 75% health Meganium, that should have been a death blow.

And not everyone jumped on the chikarita band wagon because of them, some of us out there fell in love with chikarita when Johto began, we enjoyed the rivalry betwen pikachu and chikarita for Ash's attention
I thought Chikorta was cute, I think its only problem was Gen 2 didn't give it a lot of chances to shine. Have to wonder what would've been if they choose Totodile or Cyndaquil
coolguyman16 judging by Kirin's play style they would have died long ago, he gets a little careless with pokemon playthroughs thats why when he got back from being sick pokemon started dying almost immediately
the chikorita line has always been my favorite starter
I like its base form, but the evolutions never did anything for me. Sometimes I don't like the way a Pokemon looks to start out and then it will grow on me over time, but it just didn't happen for Chikorita.
This playthrough though, I was rooting for Mr. Stake the whole game. As soon as they named him, it made him an underdog I wanted to see succeed, and that's exactly what happened. It was hilarious seeing everyone slowly start to like the little idiot.
I too was on Mr. Stake's side. I loved how TFS took a starter I previously considered useless and turned him into their best character. He, like every other party member, had personality. After it was all over, I wondered how they could top Mr. Stake. Two Nuzlockes later, it seems they can't.
Mr. Stake's adventure maybe over. but his story as the number one fantor will live one.

I usually always choose Totodile or Cyndaquil through Heartgold, but this time I decided to go for Chikorita for the meme. It was a female Chikorita with a calm nature and a mischievous characteristic, so possibly had 31 EVs in special attack. I actually enjoyed using her more than I thought

@@Gunni4091 I swear so many people look only at the grass type and scoff, and don't realize how much bulk and utility the Chikorita line can have. Don't know about HGSS but in GSC Reflect was super useful against Falkner. Sure Jumpluff is early and can have similar utility as a defensive mon, but Jumpluff A. Can't attack at all with its attacking stats in the 50s, lesser stats other than the impressive speed, and the fact that it basically starts as a flying magikarp.

My sister has never watched this series, but I've shown her the death compilation and this video, and she is completely in love with Mr. Stake. From this video alone, she loves him and her heart melted when she found out Lani named his dog after him.
Mr Stake is proof that the Nuzlocke challenge does its job: it makes you care about each and every one of these Pokemon. They picked Mr. Stake because they wanted him to die. By the end, they cared more about him than the rest of the party! Lol
