I have the exact same used car with an Estate body. Best car I have had. I was initially wary of the purchase with 350K high-mileage, but the car and bargain price won me over. Out on the road, I see other more expensive cars and think "why you would waste any more money?". This car ticks all my boxes; the ride, cabin comfort, cornering, braking, along with the 170HP being more than enough for me to have some fun and still get great fuel economy. Just to add, my 2012 has a better sound system, perhaps it may have been standard with the installed SatNav option. Its easy to use and no problem in the sun. And yes I crank up the sound, its really good!
Love our tdi in Ireland/northern Ireland i for one love the Octavias just a shame I can’t get insured on one just yet! Dad has had 3/4 of them and he’s a taxi driver loves them for the reliability takes them right into 400k miles and even with high miles still so easy on diesel! lucky for him insurance isn’t a problem but can’t wait to get my hands on one
Ive got a 2010 black mk2 Diesel, stage 1 clutch, solid flywheel, coilovers, de-egr, no-dpf, full straight through hornet exhaust, mapped, Pulls like a fucking train i love it so much xD need to upgrade the brakes next and FMIC - As a daily driver or a heavy right foot run its just fun and comfy to drive!
I've got the same engine I thinK (BMN engine, 170bhp TDi) in my Seat Altea Freetrack. Although with 4wd. I find it feels slow though. I've checked times on 0-60 launches etc, and it seems to be right, just feels slow.
170bhp and 350nm is not really a performance car is it though. Sure it hasn't got bad midrange, but it, and the Golf GTD are not performance cars imo. Never understood them. If only VAG had let Skoda use the 2.0 BiTDI engine from the Passat in this car. That coupled with Torsen all wheel drive and the diesel RS Octavia would have been much more of a performance car. (NOT the BiTDI engine from the Transporters though, which is shockingly flawed)
I live in England and have a 2011 VRS 2L Diesel. It’s a great car. Pulls like a train, sips fuel, and can carry all sorts . Brilliant car
a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one
That's my favourite car. Even now 2023.
How's diesel economy?
@@smartfalcon8116 only gasoline octovia here in China, probably 7L/100km

How can a car with 170bhp be classed as a performance car I’ve had Peugeot 208 with more bhp lol
It's a 2012 model and it can be fairly tuned as well
My mate picked up one yesterday, ignition broke on the way home and the engine temperature dropped on the motorway, so no.
Are things gone that slow on this channel bring back sinead spoiler is very necessary on this car it's all about the looks this machine come on .

The bi turbo didn't exist back then
