I'm inclined to agree. We're in a place of privilege here, and leveraging that to our advantage in amyway (even a small way) doesn't feel very genuine to me. I'll wait for voting to close before posting my submissions.
I’m loving that you are not horrible to dreamscapes that you are voting on- you could have been hard on the night thorns for example and you handled it very nicely without shaming- that’s great! Thanks for doing that. Also- IMO - you should only show your dreamscapes entry after voting has stopped. Congratulations on your ranking!
Thanks, Perl! I'm going to continue keeping my snaps confedential until voting ends! Also, I really don't want to shame anyone. I'm worried that if someone ever saw me tearing apart their submission, it would discourage them from trying again. Not to mention, we don't always know the motive or reasoning behind the submissions, so I try to keep an open mind! 😁

@PERL60 You're not alone there! Dreamsnaps are tough for new players. That said, this feature will likely be around long term. When the game goes free-to-play late this year, we'll likely see a huge surge in new players. By that time, I'm sure the two of you will have a lot more to work with and in the meantime you'll get to expirement on your submissions and also review the submissions of others to get ideas for the future!
Hello!! Greetings from Argentina!! I wanted to congratulate you and tell you that it was really honest of you not to show your photo. In my opinion, many youtubers cheated by showing their photos so that their followers would vote for them!! and it is not fair. They made me feel sad and hopeless. But I won 4000 moonstones and it gave me happiness.
Congratulations on your awesome and honest placement! This is the exact reason I did not share my photo. Members of the DLV community were expressing concerns that content creators could have a potential advantage if the openly shared their submissions across their socials so I decided to avoid that. Awesome photo! I did see it and voted for it on one of my accounts (I have 2). I placed around 17,000 on one of my accounts and the other was around 650. I was shocked because I put so much more time into the one that did worse, but I think I followed the theme better in the other, which is probably why it turned out better.
I placed 11,473th spot, got 600 moonstones and 157 pixel dust^^ your submission was really good, I play ps4 so I didn’t get to see yours I prefer to see submissions after the challenge so it’s fair for everyone even if most don’t see it beforehand

My first challenge result was abysmal but I had not really understood about the importance of the whole scene and just threw something together for the tags. I hope that my beach scene will do much better. I did not come across your entry while voting, but as the voting was so error-prone, I only did the absolute minimum required for the 50 moonstones. I like that you are not widely sharing your pic during the competition. In another game I play there is a lot of "copying" going on and then the top 20 almost always look identical (the ranking is visible the whole time in that game). That takes a lot of the fun out of the creation already. The way you did it this time seems great for my opinion. Seeing your result first and then seeing the pic with which you have achieved that result makes it very entertaining (for me at least)
I think you are doing the right thing by not posting your pic until after voting has closed. I have to admit, in my voting, there were so few masculine avatars, they almost have an edge. I also had so many missed opportunities with my DreamSnap, I received a score in the 50's. I don't mind, though. I'll keep working on it. I only started playing fairly recently, so I just do not have that much from a wardrobe or furniture standpoint.
If you're new you'll definitely be working with limited options for a bit! Though with that said, the longer you play, the more you'll have at your disposal!
@Free-Falling Please don't vote for male avatars strictly based on their gender. You should always vote based on the thought, time, and effort that goes into the players work... not what gender their avatar is. As far as Donna's comment... I sadly feel as though it misses the mark and downplays, something I worked really hard to accomplish. If you really feel like male avatars have an advantage, why don't you just change your avatars gender and see how much better you do? I see male players play as female and vice versa all the time. I can garauntee it doesn't impact it much. I talk to hundreds of players live every day, and nearly everyone takes a respectable approach when voting. Also... none of the top ranked Dreamsnaps submissions were male... So... 😁😅 Your creativity is what makes you stand out. I'm proud of what I'm capable of as a creator and an artist. I truly feel like I earned my spot. Despite the top Dreamsnaps ranks being women, I would NEVER say it's because of some gender advantage. Instead, I simply appreciate their commitment and creativity. We should be looking past gender here. Cheers.
@@Probably_Senpai I just finished my Software Engineering degree, and one of the issues we discuss frequently is unconscious bias (because we want to do everything we can to eliminate bias). Our brains automatically seek patterns, so when something is different, we pay attention to it. Now, depending on the individual, they could have a positive reaction to it - like our friend here. They could also have a negative reaction to it, or neutral reaction to it, but they will be paying closer attention to the vignette with the difference. Just like you noticed that beach lounger you didn't have. You consider your selections very carefully, so I don't think it impacted your final choices. There are going to be a fairly high number of voters choosing more instinctively. I would love to dig into the data and see if they were able to see trends based on rare items, biomes, etc.

I’m really glad the moonstone prizes are so large. I don’t really understand the brackets or how the scoring works cause you placed waaaaaay higher than me (I think I was like ~4000 but I got 4k moonstones too.) I’m not complaining cause I’m stoked with my 4k. I also massively respect you keeping your photo secret before votes closed. Even if showing it wouldn’t guarantee votes from viewers, making sure you had no unfair advantage is really honorable. I never came across your photo but if I had it would’ve gotten my vote. Very well done. 👍
i got placed 30k and got 1200 moonstones my friend got top 7k and got 2500 moonstones so basically a free star path i think thats an insane amount of moonstones
It really seems to differ from what consul you have. My switch got 2500 moonstones rank 9436, but my PS five rank 960 received 4000. The overall scores switch was 7490 and PS five was 7530. So it seems sort of arbitrary and the scores don’t seem to mean very much
I think I do, too! I believe I'm going to keep doing it this way. It keeps things fair and gives everyone an exciting photo to look forward to. Everyone can find out if they found it and voted for it at the end of the challenge. 😁

I watched this yesterday but it just dawned on me to let you know this! XD If this was an e-sports event you would be the broadcaster, you make looking at pictures fun an engaging. The details you see, like a corner of a piece of furniture or a house in the background I would had missed but you took the whole picture in. Going forward this made me realize how I should consume every detail in the future. Oh yeah and no, I do not remember voting on your pic but congrats on your score! Honestly I know I don't speak for everyone but if your pic wasn't the best I wouldn't had clicked on it even though I love your videos. I wouldn't mind you sharing it ahead.
I would love to do commentary on high ranking submission like this in an e-sports setting. That would be awesome! Concerning my dreamsnaps, I've evaluated community feedback, and I believe for now that it would be best for me to continue to avoid posting them until voting is closed. This also makes the reveal videos scheduled for Wednesdays quite fun because you get to see my placement and the entry at the same time!
I saw your photo in dreamsnaps (and I voted for it🙂). I think showing your submission at the end of the voting challenge is the best way not influence (and to really know that your photo was truly amazing and not just picked because people knew it was yours). Congratus on your huge moonstone win. JamieGames also got 4000; you TH-cam influencers really know your stuff! :-)

I really like that you didn't share your submission on TH-cam. It is great to share it your stream where there are less people. It's a good way to keep it fair if it is only shown on TH-cam after the voting is done. I think your submission was awesome & deserved how high you placed! I didn't see it while voting. I saw a lot of the same photos multiple times which was a bit annoying. But there were also issues with it saying that there were no more photos. So I am not certain if the repeats were more about it not registering my vote the first time. (I voted on Xbox which prior to this release was very stable. But with this release, it has been very buggy on a daily basis.)

There were definitely some issues with the first round of voting in terms of connections and repetition. I did not see your submission. I would have remembered it, cause it came out beautiful, definitely something I would have voted for it. I am pleased with mine, got 2500 moonstones, which I used to get Wall-E's challenge - outfit - whatever you wanna call it lol I could justify spending the 4000 moonstones.
To be honest, i didnt put much effort into my ball scene. Just put on a gown & cuddled up to the rainbow fox on the steps. I cant remember my rank but i did get 700 moonstones. I was pretty happy with that so i put a ton of effort into my ocean view. Only prob? I took the pic as it started raining. I didn't know u could redo til now. Love this video & love how ur kind to e1 & say nice things about every submission. Btw, luved ur ball scene & voted for u twice!
Oh wow! Thank you so much! I'm glad you discovered it was possible to reupload! Apparently, a lot of players weren't aware of that, and it held them back from altering or improving on their photo later! I'm sure as time goes by, the player base will get much more comfortable with the new features!

Congrats on your first week snap! It did not cross my voting screen. I am super excited for you! I also found the snap shirt reward in my shop and bought it 🤭 I have also been finding entries that seem to still be wearing their dreamlight ball attire. I am really sad that I missed purchasing the beach home but am hoping it comes back around 🤞🏼
We did see your Dreamsnap. I let my 8 year old grandson design our dreamsnap & vote and it was rare to see male player characters. When he did see a male, that was always the vote getter LOL. We scored 67 something and got 1500 moonstones, which was a blast.
Yours is really good, love it. I do think in regards to fairness not sharing prior is appropriate. A couple of reasons being... even tho it's random, you never know who will see your design in voting and to not be recognized and chosen just because of your channel, and not allow others the opportunity to copy your design exactly. I would wait until after.
I scored 459!! I thought maybe I’d get top 5,000 so I was super excited. I never saw your pic and I voted hundreds of times. The 4,000 moonstones makes me feel the effort I’ve put into my snaps (which are like days of retakes and trying different ideas 😂) makes it 100% worth it!
I won't see your pics over here in Playstation land 😅 but i liked how you made a suggestion build video when snaps launched. If you're not comfy posting your actual submission, it would be nice to see you make a suggestion build each week. Or do a live and build with the community input. I think it helps players that may be intimidated by the idea of designing a "perfect picture " see different ideas that may help them that week. ❤

Finally had time to check my score and I got rank 327! And received 4K moonstones too 💕 Now making the decision to buy the Sweet House is so much easier ☺️ I am happily amazed how generous the moonstone reward was. Love how they incorporated this feature. And do post your DreamSnap if you feel comfortable doing so, I didn’t get to vote on it this time around but maybe your DreamSnap will pop up in the future.
Another great video i am now back from our trip and excited to pop into stream on Monday i have been enjoying dream snaps but i accidentally missed my beach submission 😢 but excited to plan out the new challenge the first snap i scored 71.55 and earned 1500 moonstones ranked 13630 i had a lot of fun putting my snap together and the voting im so glad they add this feature excited to see the next round of voting
So I wanted to share this feedback info with you. I play on PS5 and after watching this video of your submission I am floored. I literally sent in the same exact picture minus the flooring, I used the marble instead and I only received 1200 Moonstones for my submission so there is definitely a difference between submitting on PS5 vs PC. congrats to you just wish mine had done as well.
Well... there is a difference, but it's actually a bit easier to place higher on Playstation. I've spoken with many Playstation players who had a much lower score but ranked much higher. This is simply due to the fact that there are way fewer players to go up against on Playstation. PS is in its own exclusive group. Xbox, PC, Switch, and Mac are all in the same challenge, so you have to score VERY high to place in the top 500. Also, I'd love to see your picture. If you look in my video description, you'll see a link to my discord server. I'd like to see just how close these photos are. It's practically impossible to have the same picture. The floor makes a big difference. This is the glossiest floor in the game, so it offers impeccable light reflection, which gives it a unique glow. Also, I had to perfectly time the wings as they unfolded to get the photo just right. I'm sure there are some similarities between our photos but I can garauntee it's far more than just the floor. If you'd like to show me how similar they really are, please join my discord and share your entry.
I didn't do too well. I was somewhere in the 2500, but my sister was in the 1500, and got more Moonstones than I. I scored 68.96; so I only got 1500. This voting was tough; as the idea was Ocean Views, but many people didn't use the Ocean part of the theme. They did only beach theme. I didn't vote for those folks. Only those who I felt captured the theme best.
surprisingly I gained 66ish points which wasnt bad XD (Moonstone reward was 1500, and some clothes I already had (Sadness) and a level up on the point gauge!

I think there are more people submitting on switch then on PS five. Because my PS five score what is 75.30 and I ranked 960. My switch score was 74.90 and I ranked 9436 so that’s quite a jump. And a gap between rankings, unless you take into account switch and PS five have a large gap in voters than the other
If you read the dev blog about dreamsnaps they mentioned that Playstation is the only platform that is seperate. This is because Sony doesn't support cloud saving across platforms. Switch, xbox, pc, and mac are all in the same dreamsnaps challenge. Playstation has it's own seperate challenge so there are WAY less entries! Hope that makes sense! 🙏
I’m agree probably senpai. I forgot about ps5 on a different scheme. It was nice that I received more moonstones on ps5 but it is a bummer it shows our names.
I got rank 1049 and for some reason I’ve seen sooo many people tied for that spot which is really weird. But I got 4000 moonstones so I’m really happy. I do find the amount of ties for that particular spot really odd though.
@nicholegreen6067 Yes. If you go to the Dreamsnaps page in your menu you'll see you current level. We all started at level 1. Pixel dust is how you level up. You'll get prizes with each level. Reach level 10 and you get the Dreamsnaps trophy! 🏆
I’m finding that this is sort of arbitrary on what you get rewarded. My switch score was 7490. Rank was 9436 moonstones 2500 and pixels 173. However, my PS5 Almost the same score was 7530. My rank was 960 I received 4000 moonstones and my pixels were 176. So I don’t understand why I would receive so much more moonstones for my PS five and so little for the switch, when my score was only about 80 off.
It's the overall rank that determines your reward, not your score. The score determines your rank. The reason it's a different rank on Playstation is because Playstation has a seperate Dreamsnaps challenge all together (with less players). PC/XBOX/MAC/Switch are all in the same competition. If you place in the top 10000 rank you'll see 2500 moonstones. If you place in the top 5000 you'll see 4000 moonstones. If you place in the top 100 you'll see 5K or more! So, the reason you got so much more on Playstation with a similar score was because you ranked much higher overall on playstation.
I'm curious about voring, are they cross console? I play on Xbox, so would it be at all possible for you to see my design? I believe PlayStation is not cross console voting, but is that the case with all devices? It would be amazing to have that happen and to possibly get feedback like you are doing now! Considering you're doing this on PC and I'm on PS5, then there's no chance that 'I' would come across it. Many are worried that the Streamers are going to show theirs and get the most because of their fans (the thing you're worried about).
That's *exactly* why I've decided to take the route that I have. It keeps it fair. I'm going to continue to avoid posting my dreamsnaps until the voting comes to a close.
I was never able to vote - at all. I wonder if mine is being seen. I’m using PS, which I understand has limitations on who can see Dreamsnaps. So unless this is addressed, PS players may not be able to fully participate. It really sucks. We may never get moonstones for voting, or receiving votes.
You'll still definitely receive votes. The voting issues have been happening across all platforms. Not all playstation players are having issues voting, just some. I've talked to many playstation players who said they've voted for hours on end. The issue with the voting right now is server congestion. Try a slower time of day like early morning or late night and hopefully you'll be able to load some photos!
@@Probably_Senpai I’ll try that, although I generally am on at 7am Atlantic time, which is 6am EST. I wouldn’t have thought that to be a popular time. Thanks for the info!
@drkjoneill there are a lot of factors at play in addition to time. Unfortunately, it seems that some accounts across various platforms have extreme difficulty voting regardless of time. The devs did state a hot fix is on the way and scheduled for the middle of next week. In the meantime, the only thing you can really do is test different times of day and hope for results.
I’m trying to figure out the system. The score must determine how many moonstones you get, more than the rank does. I scored 53.15 and ranked 75,486. I got 600 moonstones and 154 pixel dust. I’m not sad or upset, I just need to figure it out. Am I right thinking score is decided by how well the photo meets the requirements of types of clothes and furniture, etc, and “the game” calculates that? And rank is determined by votes you get? What about how many votes you do? What does that affect? Does how much you vote affect anything? Hoping someone knows the answer or where this info is. I think this is fun:)
Here's what we know at the moment. Your score is actually what determines your rank placement. The top ranked players will have the highest score. It's also possible to have the same score as other players and share the same rank as them. Your score is a combination of several variables. The amount of required/suggested items impacts your final score. Players voting in favor of your submission also impacts your final score. So, to answer your questions, all of these variables together determine your final score, which in turn determines your rank. Now, with that said, the dev team has not specified exactly how these variables determine our score, just that they do. From what I can tell, votes carry the biggest impact on our final score. I can't tell you exactly how strong the impact of votes is, but I can point to some evidence here. The first challenge was an outfit challenge. Even if you used the maximum amount of required/suggested items, you can only get so many points squeezed into one outfit. Some players squeezed the maximum number of required clothes into their submission but still had a low score and a low rank. Due to this, it has become clear that the votes carry the strongest impact on the overall score/rank of the player. Lastly, the amount of votes you do has absolutely no impact on your score at all. Voting is merely something you do to help make the system work. It allows you to see submissions and earn moonstones.

@gerriebell2128 Yes! The Pixel Dust is was gives us levels within the Dreamsnaps challenges. You'll get rewards at certain levels. For example, once you hit level 2, you'll get special dress shoes. Level 9 gives you 4000 moonstones. Level 10 gives you the dreamsnaps trophy! There are all kinds of rewards at each level. You can see your current level on the Dreamsnaps page within the main menu! @PERL60 You're not alone there! Dreamsnaps are tough for new players. That said, this feature will likely be around long term. When the game goes free-to-play late this year, we'll likely see a huge surge in new players. By that time, I'm sure the two of you will have a lot more to work with and in the meantime you'll get to expirement on your submissions and also review the submissions of others to get ideas for the future!

Awesome photo! I did see it and voted for it on one of my accounts (I have 2). I placed around 17,000 on one of my accounts and the other was around 650. I was shocked because I put so much more time into the one that did worse, but I think I followed the theme better in the other, which is probably why it turned out better.

My first challenge result was abysmal but I had not really understood about the importance of the whole scene and just threw something together for the tags. I hope that my beach scene will do much better.
I did not come across your entry while voting, but as the voting was so error-prone, I only did the absolute minimum required for the 50 moonstones. I like that you are not widely sharing your pic during the competition. In another game I play there is a lot of "copying" going on and then the top 20 almost always look identical (the ranking is visible the whole time in that game). That takes a lot of the fun out of the creation already.
The way you did it this time seems great for my opinion. Seeing your result first and then seeing the pic with which you have achieved that result makes it very entertaining (for me at least)

I think you are doing the right thing by not posting your pic until after voting has closed. I have to admit, in my voting, there were so few masculine avatars, they almost have an edge. I also had so many missed opportunities with my DreamSnap, I received a score in the 50's. I don't mind, though. I'll keep working on it. I only started playing fairly recently, so I just do not have that much from a wardrobe or furniture standpoint.
If you're new you'll definitely be working with limited options for a bit! Though with that said, the longer you play, the more you'll have at your disposal!

As far as Donna's comment... I sadly feel as though it misses the mark and downplays, something I worked really hard to accomplish. If you really feel like male avatars have an advantage, why don't you just change your avatars gender and see how much better you do? I see male players play as female and vice versa all the time. I can garauntee it doesn't impact it much. I talk to hundreds of players live every day, and nearly everyone takes a respectable approach when voting. Also... none of the top ranked Dreamsnaps submissions were male... So... 😁😅
Your creativity is what makes you stand out. I'm proud of what I'm capable of as a creator and an artist. I truly feel like I earned my spot. Despite the top Dreamsnaps ranks being women, I would NEVER say it's because of some gender advantage. Instead, I simply appreciate their commitment and creativity. @@Probably_Senpai I just finished my Software Engineering degree, and one of the issues we discuss frequently is unconscious bias (because we want to do everything we can to eliminate bias). Our brains automatically seek patterns, so when something is different, we pay attention to it. Now, depending on the individual, they could have a positive reaction to it - like our friend here. They could also have a negative reaction to it, or neutral reaction to it, but they will be paying closer attention to the vignette with the difference. Just like you noticed that beach lounger you didn't have. You consider your selections very carefully, so I don't think it impacted your final choices. There are going to be a fairly high number of voters choosing more instinctively. I would love to dig into the data and see if they were able to see trends based on rare items, biomes, etc.

I don’t really understand the brackets or how the scoring works cause you placed waaaaaay higher than me (I think I was like ~4000 but I got 4k moonstones too.) I’m not complaining cause I’m stoked with my 4k. I also massively respect you keeping your photo secret before votes closed. Even if showing it wouldn’t guarantee votes from viewers, making sure you had no unfair advantage is really honorable. I never came across your photo but if I had it would’ve gotten my vote. i got placed 30k and got 1200 moonstones my friend got top 7k and got 2500 moonstones so basically a free star path i think thats an insane amount of moonstones
It really seems to differ from what consul you have. My switch got 2500 moonstones rank 9436, but my PS five rank 960 received 4000. The overall scores switch was 7490 and PS five was 7530. So it seems sort of arbitrary and the scores don’t seem to mean very much

I watched this yesterday but it just dawned on me to let you know this! XD If this was an e-sports event you would be the broadcaster, you make looking at pictures fun an engaging. The details you see, like a corner of a piece of furniture or a house in the background I would had missed but you took the whole picture in. Going forward this made me realize how I should consume every detail in the future. Oh yeah and no, I do not remember voting on your pic but congrats on your score! Concerning my dreamsnaps, I've evaluated community feedback, and I believe for now that it would be best for me to continue to avoid posting them until voting is closed. This also makes the reveal videos scheduled for Wednesdays quite fun because you get to see my placement and the entry at the same time!

I really like that you didn't share your submission on TH-cam. It is great to share it your stream where there are less people. It's a good way to keep it fair if it is only shown on TH-cam after the voting is done. I think your submission was awesome & deserved how high you placed! I didn't see it while voting. I saw a lot of the same photos multiple times which was a bit annoying. But there were also issues with it saying that there were no more photos. So I am not certain if the repeats were more about it not registering my vote the first time. (I voted on Xbox which prior to this release was very stable. But with this release, it has been very buggy on a daily basis.)

To be honest, i didnt put much effort into my ball scene. Just put on a gown & cuddled up to the rainbow fox on the steps. I cant remember my rank but i did get 700 moonstones. I was pretty happy with that so i put a ton of effort into my ocean view. Only prob? I took the pic as it started raining. I didn't know u could redo til now. Love this video & love how ur kind to e1 & say nice things about every submission. Btw, luved ur ball scene & voted for u twice!
Oh wow! Thank you so much! I'm glad you discovered it was possible to reupload! Apparently, a lot of players weren't aware of that, and it held them back from altering or improving on their photo later! I'm sure as time goes by, the player base will get much more comfortable with the new features!

We did see your Dreamsnap. I let my 8 year old grandson design our dreamsnap & vote and it was rare to see male player characters. When he did see a male, that was always the vote getter LOL. We scored 67 something and got 1500 moonstones, which was a blast.
Yours is really good, love it. I do think in regards to fairness not sharing prior is appropriate. A couple of reasons being... even tho it's random, you never know who will see your design in voting and to not be recognized and chosen just because of your channel, and not allow others the opportunity to copy your design exactly. I would wait until after.

If you're not comfy posting your actual submission, it would be nice to see you make a suggestion build each week. Or do a live and build with the community input. I think it helps players that may be intimidated by the idea of designing a "perfect picture " see different ideas that may help them that week. ❤

Another great video i am now back from our trip and excited to pop into stream on Monday i have been enjoying dream snaps but i accidentally missed my beach submission 😢 but excited to plan out the new challenge the first snap i scored 71.55 and earned 1500 moonstones ranked 13630 i had a lot of fun putting my snap together and the voting im so glad they add this feature excited to see the next round of voting

So I wanted to share this feedback info with you. I play on PS5 and after watching this video of your submission I am floored. I literally sent in the same exact picture minus the flooring, I used the marble instead and I only received 1200 Moonstones for my submission so there is definitely a difference between submitting on PS5 vs PC. congrats to you just wish mine had done as well.
Well... there is a difference, but it's actually a bit easier to place higher on Playstation. I've spoken with many Playstation players who had a much lower score but ranked much higher. This is simply due to the fact that there are way fewer players to go up against on Playstation. PS is in its own exclusive group.
Xbox, PC, Switch, and Mac are all in the same challenge, so you have to score VERY high to place in the top 500.
Also, I'd love to see your picture. If you look in my video description, you'll see a link to my discord server. I'd like to see just how close these photos are. It's practically impossible to have the same picture.
The floor makes a big difference. This is the glossiest floor in the game, so it offers impeccable light reflection, which gives it a unique glow. Also, I had to perfectly time the wings as they unfolded to get the photo just right. I'm sure there are some similarities between our photos but I can garauntee it's far more than just the floor. If you'd like to show me how similar they really are, please join my discord and share your entry.

I placed around 29000th and got 1500 moonstones. Pretty cool!
I didn't do too well. I was somewhere in the 2500, but my sister was in the 1500, and got more Moonstones than I. I scored 68.96; so I only got 1500. This voting was tough; as the idea was Ocean Views, but many people didn't use the Ocean part of the theme. They did only beach theme. I didn't vote for those folks. Only those who I felt captured the theme best.
I've noticed this as well. The players who include an "ocean view" in their submission definitely get a bit more sway on my vote!

I think there are more people submitting on switch then on PS five. Because my PS five score what is 75.30 and I ranked 960. My switch score was 74.90 and I ranked 9436 so that’s quite a jump. And a gap between rankings, unless you take into account switch and PS five have a large gap in voters than the other
If you read the dev blog about dreamsnaps they mentioned that Playstation is the only platform that is seperate. This is because Sony doesn't support cloud saving across platforms.
Switch, xbox, pc, and mac are all in the same dreamsnaps challenge. Playstation has it's own seperate challenge so there are WAY less entries! Hope that makes sense! 🙏

I got rank 1049 and for some reason I’ve seen sooo many people tied for that spot which is really weird. But I got 4000 moonstones so I’m really happy. I do find the amount of ties for that particular spot really odd though.

@nicholegreen6067 Yes. If you go to the Dreamsnaps page in your menu you'll see you current level. We all started at level 1. Pixel dust is how you level up. You'll get prizes with each level. Reach level 10 and you get the Dreamsnaps trophy! 🏆

I’m finding that this is sort of arbitrary on what you get rewarded. My switch score was 7490. Rank was 9436 moonstones 2500 and pixels 173. However, my PS5 Almost the same score was 7530. My rank was 960 I received 4000 moonstones and my pixels were 176. So I don’t understand why I would receive so much more moonstones for my PS five and so little for the switch, when my score was only about 80 off.
From my understanding, the score only affects how the pixel dust is calculated. The rank is how your moonstones is calculated.
It's the overall rank that determines your reward, not your score. The score determines your rank. The reason it's a different rank on Playstation is because Playstation has a seperate Dreamsnaps challenge all together (with less players).
PC/XBOX/MAC/Switch are all in the same competition.
If you place in the top 10000 rank you'll see 2500 moonstones. If you place in the top 5000 you'll see 4000 moonstones. If you place in the top 100 you'll see 5K or more!
So, the reason you got so much more on Playstation with a similar score was because you ranked much higher overall on playstation.

Also I should add that was for my switch on my PS5 I was in the 400s and also got 4000 moonstones.

Considering you're doing this on PC and I'm on PS5, then there's no chance that 'I' would come across it. Many are worried that the Streamers are going to show theirs and get the most because of their fans (the thing you're worried about).
That's *exactly* why I've decided to take the route that I have. It keeps it fair. I'm going to continue to avoid posting my dreamsnaps until the voting comes to a close.

I was never able to vote - at all. I wonder if mine is being seen. I’m using PS, which I understand has limitations on who can see Dreamsnaps. So unless this is addressed, PS players may not be able to fully participate. It really sucks. We may never get moonstones for voting, or receiving votes.
You'll still definitely receive votes. The voting issues have been happening across all platforms. Not all playstation players are having issues voting, just some. I've talked to many playstation players who said they've voted for hours on end.
The issue with the voting right now is server congestion. Try a slower time of day like early morning or late night and hopefully you'll be able to load some photos!
@@Probably_Senpai I’ll try that, although I generally am on at 7am Atlantic time, which is 6am EST. I wouldn’t have thought that to be a popular time.

@drkjoneill there are a lot of factors at play in addition to time. Unfortunately, it seems that some accounts across various platforms have extreme difficulty voting regardless of time. The devs did state a hot fix is on the way and scheduled for the middle of next week. In the meantime, the only thing you can really do is test different times of day and hope for results.

I’m trying to figure out the system. The score must determine how many moonstones you get, more than the rank does. I scored 53.15 and ranked 75,486. I got 600 moonstones and 154 pixel dust.
I’m not sad or upset, I just need to figure it out. Am I right thinking score is decided by how well the photo meets the requirements of types of clothes and furniture, etc, and “the game” calculates that? And rank is determined by votes you get? What about how many votes you do? What does that affect? Does how much you vote affect anything? Hoping someone knows the answer or where this info is. I think this is fun:)
Here's what we know at the moment.
Your score is actually what determines your rank placement. The top ranked players will have the highest score. It's also possible to have the same score as other players and share the same rank as them.
Your score is a combination of several variables. The amount of required/suggested items impacts your final score. Players voting in favor of your submission also impacts your final score. So, to answer your questions, all of these variables together determine your final score, which in turn determines your rank.
Now, with that said, the dev team has not specified exactly how these variables determine our score, just that they do.
From what I can tell, votes carry the biggest impact on our final score. I can't tell you exactly how strong the impact of votes is, but I can point to some evidence here. The first challenge was an outfit challenge. Even if you used the maximum amount of required/suggested items, you can only get so many points squeezed into one outfit. Some players squeezed the maximum number of required clothes into their submission but still had a low score and a low rank. Due to this, it has become clear that the votes carry the strongest impact on the overall score/rank of the player.
Lastly, the amount of votes you do has absolutely no impact on your score at all. Voting is merely something you do to help make the system work. It allows you to see submissions and earn moonstones.

Silly me🙄 No matter what the numbers are, it’s nice to get some free moonstones! And it’s fun to see peoples’ creativity! Any word yet on what you can do with pixel dust?
@gerriebell2128 Yes! The Pixel Dust is was gives us levels within the Dreamsnaps challenges. You'll get rewards at certain levels. For example, once you hit level 2, you'll get special dress shoes. Level 9 gives you 4000 moonstones. Level 10 gives you the dreamsnaps trophy! There are all kinds of rewards at each level. You can see your current level on the Dreamsnaps page within the main menu!
