The new path feature is a game changer! Its going to take a little getting used to but im not mad about it but i love that we can change it out completely so much faster
I think many players are warming up to most of these changes. A couple of them are frustrating and poorly explained, but many changes have been great for decor QOL.
As a primarily controller-player, it's been a big struggle for me especially as I was so used to to the other system. I am slowly adapting but I still prefer the former. I think a toggle for one or the other provides the option for players
I think the middle cursor is what I most dislike about this update. Sometimes it def makes me wanna cry 🥲🥴 Also, on PS, we were able to remove the UI before the update but now, it is not possible to do so😩
Understandable. Personally, I do like the new system for the most part but there are some things I would like to change. Overall, optional would be ideal as it allow players to utilize what they're most comfortable with even if that meant it could cause crashing. It's best to leave that choice to the player.
I hope they revert the mechanics back and leave the decor mechanics alone! As someone who is a primary decorator this was not a great modification. At all. 😢
I hope the "Hide UI" option is fixed soon on PS5/Playstation... it's really annoying trying to take DreamSnaps when almost a quarter of the screen is covered!
I’m on PS5 and don’t have a hide UI feature either (and even worse, it’s disappeared from taking pictures either)! Makes taking Dreamsnaps so much more difficult as a quarter of the screen is always covered.
No idea why they removed that option. My screenshots now all have text. And indeed have to take test shots just to see if the DreamSnaps look good or not.
I don’t mind most of the changes but I don’t get how the cursor remaining centered is an “improvement” I HATE it. I hate the whole map moving rather than the item. It makes it hard to focus. Also getting a precise placement of an item is hard with the joystick. When the cursor moved you could use your d pad buttons to nudge items over one or two tiles. The joystick is finicky and often jumps large areas rather than getting it right when you want it.
I have really enjoyed this update, although it has come with flaws it has still been enjoyable the only thing that has me super frustrated is the dang star path item "lock"
I couldn’t wait to get started with my mulan build for her home but can’t get any dupes from Scrooge store. 😢😢 but hey don’t want to moan and complain. So as senpai said we are patiently waiting so COME ON GAMELOFT😂😂😂😂
Would love a toggle or slide for camera speed and the ability to move your cursor and not the whole screen. With the slower camera and the hand stuck in the middle it takes FOREVER to place anything. Hoping they roll back this choice or make it optional 😭
You're welcome! Hoping this helps a lot of players as I've seen a fair amount of confusion surrounding the new system! Of course, I believe the wording in the patch notes are a big cause for the confusion! Cheers!
The new "hide Touch of Magic" button in camera mode doesn't work either. The outside of Daisy's boutique now counts as ToM item, and the button doesn't hide it.
The toggle unfortunately only affects ToM Decor. Nor clothing, therefore it has no effect on the items in Daisy's windows, which is a huge oversight in my opinion. The toggle should just hide her whole store. I'm not sure why the devs didn't think of this or at least test it. 😫
@@Probably_Senpai I understand your avatar wearing ToM clothing, but the outside of Daisy's store seems a bit much. Now we have to make room to move the entire building when we're limited on space as it is! (Unless you can put it in Eternity Isle)
On Playstation the camera is for sure still locked in the center of the screen. I don't remember what I was doing, but I had a heck of a time trying to maneuver indoors. Also I hate having to press X for every single pathing tile I place down.
The cursor stuff annoyed me so bad on xbox with decorating that im playing on pc now 😅 actually happy, was surprised to see my computer run it on max settings
@@Probably_Senpaiyess!! Scrolling through the cooking menu instantly on a 120hz display was a game changer. Along with being able to see all the little details close up
The multiple placing feature is nice but it doesnt work on rocks and trees and I find that sooo frustrating. I want a rock lined path and was so excited for this feature but it does not work for landscaping 😩
I _think_ hiding UI isn't just for playstation users, but for anyone using a playstation controller. I'm not 100% sure about this and I can not varify, but I have a vauge memory of someone trying to use the hide UI on PC with their PS controller and it did nothing.
Interesting! Thank you for the valuable insight. This does make sense. Perhaps it's due to some limitation with the PS controllers "select" button. Either way, I hope this gets fixed!
I really hate this new camera angles and the hand censor also stays strictly in the middle of the screen. Before we were able to move the censor hand. The new build mode is garbage.
I know that not everyone agrees, but I love the new features for decorating. It took a little bit to get used to and I find myself still trying to do things the old way. However, the new centered hand is far easier to use and the pathing is much better. They do need to fix the UI feature for everyone though.
Left joystick moves the decor mode camera around, right joystick determines the angle. You can zoom in/out by holding right trigger and using the right joystick. All of this information is listed in decor mode. Check the bottom left had side of the decor window and you'll see a list of all controls. Keep in mind these controls only apply to the decor/edit mode camera. The camera/photo tool is different.

Why would they slow the camera if we are closer. It is so painfully slow to decorate now I can’t do it.

And we can use directional buttons anymore!

It was in terms of laying paths and fences. That should stay

I think it was done more to aid in stability... but I also think it should be 100% optional.

Still patiently waiting for Gameloft to actually address this. I'm going crazy. 🤪 lol

I can’t even access the sides of my biomes now to move stuff the cursor just stops
And decorating is so slow and glitchy now
i also like the one where you select an item and it duplicated good for the added three decorations dreamlight duty cause damn those come up alot
Hahaha yes! That feature is so nice for dreamlight/mist duties that ask you to decorate.

The only thing I HATE is how slow the camera moves. I play on the Steam Deck and decorating takes longer now. 😢😢😢
Also that outfit looks so good on the male avatar there wow !
It's my new fave! I LOVE this Hanfu!
Thanks for explaining the new decor mode.

That camera moving faster when zoomed out is true on slower Xbox
Uh oh, you better watch out, they’re about to hire you! Thanks for the informative video as always! 😂😅❤

Agreed! It's super annoying. Haha like why won't it work with an item we have an infinite amount of? So silly.

I'd prefer to move faster zoomed in. This change is just confusing. I want to move around quicker so I can build quicker not the other way around.

I’m on Xbox S and my game still crashes 😢
Playing on Gamepass by chance?
@@Probably_Senpai I don’t play on gamepass. I bought the game!
I feel like they forgot to test the speed from a low to ground angle. Seems like an oversight. I guess we will know if they change it next update.
The “find similar items” button isn’t there for me (on Switch)

how do you change your camera angle on switch

Hi Senpai.
Hello!
Just let me move the cursor around the screen. It was fine before!!!!!!!!!
I'm very angry with the new decorating system
