I'd LOVE to run round with Captain Jack Sparrow, and imagine him & Captain Hook crossing paths 😂😂 As for the star wars debate going on everywhere - haven't actually watched any Star Wars for a long time, but come on, how much fun would it be to run round the valley with a light sabre?! and having Kuzko saying "No Touchy" as you run by 😂😂😂 I'm very excited to see what and who will be brought to the valley, cuz it'll be a new and fun adventure, regardless.

When I took the survey and saw the Star Wars option, I didn't click on it. I picked Emperor's New Groove because I loved the movie growing up, and it's one of Disney's underrated movies next to Brother Bear and Treasure Planet. I'd love both of those movies to be in the game, too. I also picked Hercules and Aladdin. I may like Star Wars, but I didn't pick it, because Disney didn't make Star Wars. They bought Lucasfilm and made more movies and shows. I just feel like they should focus on actual movies Disney has made and not ones that were made by another company and than bought by Disney. If they want to add Star Wars and maybe MarveI I feel like they should wait until they're done with Disney and Pixar characters. This is my personal opinion and people can disagree with me all they want. We all have different opinions and that's okay.

I'm a Star Wars fan and have a whole collection of Baby Yoda things, but Star Wars seems weird in the game. I prefer it to be a paid DLC if they were added. I'd probably buy it, but I don't want them in my valley.
Here's my take. I agree with you that we need to get disney animation and pixar characters before ever coming close to having Star Wars on the table. Where i think we differ is that to me, Star Wars is a franchise not created by disney and pixar company. It was an IP bought. And i feel Star Wars can potentially open a rabbit hole to marvel or aliens, etc, as then it starts to diminish the core essence of DDLV. Strictly centralizing it to disney animation characters helps bring its "disney magic" essence we most think of disney as. One thing i want to point out on aladdin that has been bugging me is that i have a gut feeling jafar isn't the only character in the final enternity Isles Update. I do think aladdin and Jasmine are included there. If not aladdin, definitely jasmine. And the reason i believe this is because of jwhat jasmine villager house is. Her house in the movie is literally Agrabah palace. Same palace that is the centerpiece of enternity isles. I highly doubt GL would make two agrabah palaces. That's my theory. As for other choices on list, the most excited i see on the list is the inclusion of jungle book characters. I love that movie a lot and have the main 4: baloo, Mowgli, bagheera, and shere khan, i think would help add more animals in game. I can even imagine great interactions between baloo and simba, or bagheera and nala, or scar and shere khan. Would be great. The others i add are pinocchio and alice in wonderland. But i do love hercules added. You're idea for Hercules as dlc is exactly the same i hoped for too. All in all, great video!

I'm curious how do you feel about "original" Disney character from "purchased" intellectual property? For example, Grogu? Also, I've had a theory about Alladin showing up in Eternity Isle since it was released! The addition of monkeys felt like a dead giveaway as it was an easy character model for Abu! Sadly, this survey has me reconsidering and feeling that we may not be seeing Alladin until sometime after Tiana or possibly later than that. Though, I really hope we get Alladin soon!
I wouldn't even want Star Wars as an optional DLC. Would create a massive rift in the player base. If the executives want to milk that cash cow, create a spinoff with a separate development team and let them handle all the Star Wars/Marvel properties. I think that would be really fun and would probably play it, but if they add either franchise to the valley, I've got loads of other games I could play. I would be willing to entertain 20th Century Fox animation characters if they fit the vibe.
i can agree to a point. to say that youll quit the game or play other things just because of 2 villagers roaming your valley seems absurd to me. 2 characters could not 'ruin' the game, and star wars is in a lot of peoples childhood.. i can understand concerns about potential rabbitholes, like 'Starwars being included could lead to marvel characters which would bring down the disney vibe", but to state that youll play something else if they add it and not make an ENTIRELY NEW GAME, thats just silly to me. its quite easy to put characters you dont like too much in an area where you wont see them. the statement that starwars characters would 'ruin the game' is just so dramatic and exaggerated

Star Wars does not belong in DDV imo. As a life long Star Wars nerd, I just don't want to see it in the valley. Disney has butchered Star Wars since Episode 7 and has continued to churn out utter garbage Star Wars content ever since. (minus Mando S1 & S2). Star Wars would need to be its own DLC so I can at the very least just not buy it.
I don't even want Star Wars as a paid expansion and I hope they don't create it. Star Wars makes it a different kind of game than Mickey and Minnie. I choose DDV and the current expansion because it is an innocent, cozy game. It's completely different than what a Star Wars expansionwould be even if it was Yoda. And I am really looking forward to a new expansion.. I think Sword and the Stone and Robin Hood would fit together well in a new expansion. I do love your idea of a Hercules expansion as well.
I was a hard no on Star Wars but I do like Star Wars and you showing the different graphics for Star Wars features did make me soften very slightly. I picked Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland and can't remember my third choice which shows you what I think of it! Not listed was Mary Poppins, Tinkerbell (and Wendy) and Pocahontas which are high on my list of desired characters. Can you imagine the Mary Poppins carousel in game?
Happy to hear that! Starwars wasn't my first choice. It wasn't even in my top three. With that said, the entire concept of Disney Dreamlight Valley is about imagination and embracing your inner child. My inner child had a lot of love for Starwars and with Starwars being Disney IP, I really wouldn't mind seeing it in the game if it were done right. It's just hard for me to imagine saying it would RUIN the game I would "leave the game" if Starwars were added. I don't want the muppets or cars in the valley for that matter... but I certainly wouldn't quit the game just because characters I don't connect with are added to the game. I would simply be happy that some people out there were happy.
I want their DLC characters to make sense like for example this eternity isle DLC should of been all Aladdin characters including genie, jasmine, Aladdin, along with Jafar…. And we should of gotten Eve, Gaston, and Oswald for free in main game
For events under Anniversaries I zoned in on the fact this year marks The Lion King 30th Anniversary, The Incredibles 20th anniversary and Big Hero Six 10th anniversary. To incorporate new items in Scrooge's shop if not the star path. ☺️
I would love to have more showcases. It was just so immersive and really fun to pause and see all the new things that would be coming. Also, when they asked where I get my Disney news, I made sure to put “the streamer probably_senpai” 😅♥️♥️♥️

I just live the fact we have the opportunity to gave our opinion on what we want for the game. I do have favorites I want to see in the game before anything else, but overall, I'm just excited and grateful for free and new content even if it's not my favorite franchise.
The trippiest stuff about the Star Wars stuff for me is thats EXACTLY what we were talking about on Twitch (maybe it was hypothesizing about a Star Wars DLC) when official DDLV Twitch popped in on one of the update days. They literally dropped the eyes 👀 to announce themselves in chat while we were discussing it and now here it is in the survey months later. Wild.
I can't remember the exact day! I think it was a few weeks before the update stream they appeared in! During the update stream for Daisy they chatted with us about the new Daisy feature. The stream where we spoke about SW happened a couple of weeks before that.
I loved the editing in this video as you really integrated the DDV promos! As a Star Wars fan, I would love to have Star Wars characters as a DLC so that it's a chance to be optional for people but also so I can get into the mindset of Star Wars in a different valley so to speak with different biomes. An Endor-themed biome would be amazing!!!
I know a lot of people are against Star Wars and don't even wanna think about them adding Marvel but the DLC hub in the castle has like 5 open docks so having SW/Marvel wouldn't take away from there being other new islands. Plus, think of the meta jokes about how no character in-game recognizes Luke Skywalker or Spider-man from before The Forgetting and doesn't think they were ever in the Valley (cuz they're not disney-based properties).

I actually LIKE the Star Wars idea from Gameloft BUT...only as a DLC. I think if they're going to add Star Wars characters, then it should be through DLC as they could have biomes based on the various planets from around the Galaxy far, far away or other sci-fi inspired biomes for these characters to wander around in. Also, I REALLY want Hades. I've said it before in a few places but what IF...we got Cerburus (his dog) as a companion? - either in puppy form or just scaled down because otherwise, he would just be too big. Hoping to see the God of the Underworld himself this Halloween as we haven't had any villains for a while. Guess I'll just have to wait and see...he is my most wanted Disney villain that we don't have currently.
I feel you! I want Hades SO BAD! He is my favorite! Ever since we got the "Well of Souls" in the first Halloween Starpath I've been hopeful for his arrival! James Woods was SO great in that role too!
I agree with so many of your thoughts and ideas. I'm a decor person too, my valley is nature driven. What I wouldn't do for more butterfly flower type plants/flowers (that thing is everywhere lol). I would love seasonal themes and events.
I love Finding Nemo. I DON'T want them in my valley because I hated having to grind Ursula & Ariel before being able to give them legs. Nemo or Dory won't be able to be your buddy which is a big part of the game.
I would love to have a world for wonderland I think they could do something very cool with that tho it would be sad to make it a dlc. I wouldn’t mind a realm but I feel a world could work so well and add some unique items to the game bc well…. It’s wonderland!! And Star Wars would be cool if it was excuted well like an optional dlc. I sadly missed the survey so I couldn’t put my own input but I’m just excited for Alice context bc I already have my favorite in the game already (little mermaid)
One character that would be incredible and in one point had interaction with a lot of the villager would be Sora from Kingdom Heart, would be a good DL with organisation 13 trying to use the dreamlight to open kingdom heart. But this is only a fantasy and Sora is own by Disney not Square Enix, would make sense to regroup with Mickey, Donald and Goffy and get new item with Kingdom heart team like the Keyblade could be use for a new tool like they did with the scepter in a rift in time
I don't even want Star Wars as DLC. Imagine not getting an Alice in Wonderland DLC because they're instead working on a Star Wars DLC for a whole year (the DLC cycles are a year long). Not cool. It is my opinion that Star Wars and Marvel do not fit into the vibe of this game at all and if they were added it would ruin the game for a lot of people.

I've loved Star Wars, the Simpsons and the Alien franchises since a child but they were not part of my Disney childhood. These were recent acquisitions. This is all my opinion ofc and I respect yours. I think a good chunk of the people saying that they 'don't want it but if it was a separate DLC it would be okay' aren't thinking about the development resources that would be pulled to make it happen and how it would impact other additions to the game. @KayD__o Yeah, I definitely see what you're saying about resources and your 100% right about that. Even if they released a starwars expansion, that would leave many people waiting for an expansion they would actually enjoy, which isn't quite fair. This is why I would prefer an expansion like this to come much later in Dreamlight Valley's lifespan, and this is also the big reason I did not vote for starwars. A nice alternative would be a simple dream bundle that includes a new villager like Grogu as it would be completely optional and would not require nearly as many resources as a paid expansion. As far as the other portion of your statement, I don't think the developers or gameloft should be under any obligation to disregard purchased IP or to only include characters that were Disney IP during our "childhood" because by that logic *newer* Disney characters shouldn't be included at all. I mean... Starwars has been Disney property longer than Moana has existed, yet she's still part of the game. I don't really think it's fair or reasonable to cherry pick what Disney IP can come to the game simply because it doesn't ressonate with *you* and at the end of the day whether you agree or disagree about it fitting doesn't change the *fact* that it does based upon the very core concept of what Dreamlight Valley is. Yes, by this logic, the Simpsons and even Alien could potentially fit in the game, but I don't know many children who claim either of those were a big part of their childhood... maybe the simpons, but that's a stretch as most don't appreciate the humor of it until they are a bit older... Even still, I wouldn't even make a big fuss if they did add something like the Simpsons or decor from Alien if players were interested in it. As long as the new content makes someone happy and brings new experiences to my valley, it's fine by me.
@@Probably_Senpai Moana and the other newer charaters are directly from Disney animation studios (with the exception of Pixar but that was a relatively old acquisition) and so they are in a way descendants of the older characters. They have that Disney vibe. Star Wars is a completely separate thing of its own. It's very, very different vibes. We can disagree though. I love Star Wars a lot. I think Darth Vader's character arc is one of the best ever in film. I just don't need or want the force in my valley. I think it would diminish that cosy Disney magic feel and that feel is why I love this game.

You just brought up not including characters that weren't Disney IP during our childhood, so I found it reasonable to point out that some characters in the game didn't even exist in our childhood! The reason why I chose Winnie the Pooh to be paid DLC is because I want a whole Biome of it with cute plants. Imagine that!😊 Stars wars idea seems weird.. dream bundle might be an option. Or just simply add the furnitures into Scrooge shop. Maybe an holographic baby Yoda.😂
I don't want star wars or marvel in DDV bc they don't fit at all. IMO those should be their own games or paid DLC separate islands fully themed for just those IPs. I want as many classic Disney characters before any of the non-Disney created stuff. I don't like the Muppets at all either lol. I love Cars, and maybe it would also be best as a DLC separate island so that the world fits car models and movements best. I love Robin Hood and would love to get him and Maid Marian and maybe Little John. Atlantis, Aladdin, Hercules, Peter Pan, Rescuers, Finding Nemo (I would love fish characters + water decor) etc... Literally anything before SW and Muppets. I don't like Toy Story either and I would hate to get Forky in the game. I wasn't interested at all in Jack Skellington. Anyways, haha!

I would like to see "anniversary" events for some of the movies that may not introduced yet, Tarzen is turning 25, and Sleeping Beauty is 65 this year. Next year PETE IS 100!!! But I would like to see for 2025 Cinderella (is turning 75) and a few others having "big" anniversaries come to the game! But I also chose Hercules, I agree a DLC would be best! It is also mentioned when Merlin opens the dock that "chariots" can take us to new places... Are there any other characters that would fit with chariots? Also, I LOVE clone wars, and I am okay with them adding Grogu, Obi, and even Ahsoka.

Honestly, I'm okay with whichever characters come to the game. Would I prefer some over others, yes. The only thing I REALLY want is a DLC of The Hundred Acre Wood with Pooh and Tigger, we could even have bees added to fly around (like the butterflies). Especially Tigger, as he is my all time favorite Disney character. I can't even tell you how excited I was to see his name on that survey!! Haha. I would also love a biome or DLC with Alice in Wonderland. I think that the possibilities for the decor is so much fun to think about. This survey got me so excited for the future of this game! 💜
I really liked hearing your perspectives on the topics from the survey. The main problem I would have with Star Wars coming to the valley is that the characters would have to be animated. I know there are animated series of Star Wars, but most people know and love the real live movies and I think it would be very diffitcult to animate the Star Wars characters in a convincing way.
@laurawilke2617 History shows evidence to the contrary. 😁 Look at all the starwars video games out there that have brought in millions of dollars. A vast majority of Starwars fans have never complained about animated starwars adaptations in games or shows. Also, yes, most people know and love the live action series, but nearly every true starwars fan is familiar with the animated series, and it was very well received by the community. Adaptation of live service to animation has never been a problem for starwars.
We have VERY similar outlooks on these characters with the exception of Jack Sparrow and Grogu. I am curious though why you chose Neutral for Judy Hopps but not interested at all for Nick Wylde. My personal opinion is that Zootopia characters / realm / items / clothing would be an awesome addition to the valley. But would love to know your opinion on that verse.

I think the only way Star Wars would integrate into the valley in the least offensive way to the core animation lover audience (including myself) would be to have it as a new expansion with a separate world (kinda like how you have to go to that platform area to go to Eternity Isle, they could build an entry to a star wars “valley”) Agreed with everyone that star wars should be towards the END of the developers releasing the core pixar/disney IP’s first. But just my two cents 🤷🏽♀️. Also just to put this out here: I would also love love looooove to have a whole expansion thats basically Pixie Hollow. 😭 biomes related to the seasons, hanging out with Tink and friends, unique recipes and more. Your avatar can become a fairy and fly around - but if Tink came to visit the valley she’d be Mushu sized but flying around. 🥹 Either way - Looking forward to the 2025 roadmap.
I chose almost the same thing as you! Except for Star Wars. I know we had some Alice in Wonderland items in the premium shop, but wouldn't it be amazing to have an expansion with it?!
I also suggested seasonal focused events in that free text commentary section with the same hope to get seasonal decor, I just hope they vary the events from year to year Well said about starwars, that's my thoughts too. Well, we're twins on which franchises we want most. :) I had a lot of trouble choosing the clothing aesthetics. I want all of it except ballgowns, which I don't like on the thicc female avatar that I use.
Idek why people want live action characters in this game, they would look super freaking weird animated. I still find it funny article companies, like Screen Rant, BEGS constantly for stuff like Marvel characters in here; not a fan of Marvel so I would say no to that imo I mean, we already got people thinking that this will be a way for franchises to get some of their money back after losing a lot of if over the years
Animated adaptations to "live action" media are made all the time. It all depends on how it's implicated. Personally, I loved the animated clone wars series and the whole series was based off of live action. It's actually extremely popular among the starwars fandom, so when done properly these adaptations are very well received. This is just one of many examples. That said, if you only like to see certain media as live action, that's valid. I'm just trying to help you see why other people don't mind it since that's what you opened with in your comment! I filled out the survey and I gave my feedback on all my favorite characters, and yet I'm looking forward to your predictions for the rest of this year and the beginning of next year.
In the list of characters, the one I was really surprise is "Kim Possible" because I thought characters that could come to the valley must come from disney classics, pixar or big franchise (Like Star wars... Yeah, I knew they might try to add it the game. Don't mind it but I agree it should via a DLC) However, with her, they open the door to disney channel characters.😮 With that in mind, I would LOVE a DLC for disney channel characters specificly so we could have as many has we can (Also, now my most wanted characters in the valley are any characters from "The owl house" I NEED THEM)
My only reasoning for not wanting Star Wars is because there are just so many Disney and Pixar movies that have no representation yet. I like Star Wars but I wouldn’t be keen for it anytime soon as all I would be thinking about is what Disney/Pixar option it could have been instead. However, if Star Wars did come I wouldn’t think the game is ruined. 😊

I've never watched Star Wars. And I don't feel like it would fit the theme properly. Like having Marvel superheroes running around. Doesn't Star Wars already have its own dedicated games? And it has its own dedicated universe. I understand them asking, but to have it there would totally be a cash-grab. I'm not fully against some space-themed decor, but the actual characters would feel weird.
We need a Star Wars Disney Dreamlight valley and make a whole new universe. Imagine the cantina or the market - every realm being another planet…they are probably gauging interest
There is a mobile game called Disney Magical kingdoms. It is from gameloft as well and is incredibly similar to this game. In fact, there are some items in this game that are originally from that game. But as far as live action movies go, that game has brought characters from Pirates of the Caribbean, Hocus Pocus, Star Wars, and a few others into the game. Since the art style is very similar in both games, I personally think they did a fantastic job at bringing live characters into the game without them looking odd or standing out from the other animated characters. So I am fairly confident that, if they were to bring live action characters into this game, they would do just as good of a job. And if that game is any indication of things that might possibly come to this one in the future (not saying it is), I would be beyond excited for it!
Even Tho We might not get Star wars anytime soon since a DLC Needs lots of Development I can say we will get it since DDLV Is a gameloft game and Disney Magic Kingdom Mobile already has Loads of star wars an Other Characters Like Ice Age for some reason Even if they add Star wars I hope its the Clone Wars Version I can See those Fitting In Pretty Well Either Way. I will be here waiting with my wallet ready to buy that star wars DLC
It depends on how it was incorporated. We're just talking about adding characters and biomes... same as every other update. Adding Starwars does not mean we are adding space travel and lightsaber duels. 😂 Essentially, it would be the same as every other update as far as stability goes.

I seriously do not understand the star wars hate. people didn't hate on jack this much and nightmare before christmas is _barely_ even disney imo. (don't get me wrong, I *adore* jack!) and what about the muppets? why aren't people complaining about them not feeling like disney?? I really don't see how star wars being added would "ruin the disney experience". just turn them off in your valley if you don't like it and let us who love them have it!

While Star Wars wouldn't be my top pick for characters, I am all in for a space theme DLC. If we would get an expansion set in space that would be epic. Though now that I think about it some, I worry that a star wars expansion might not have anything in space, which would kind of suck.
Oh, this one is easy to answer! The Starwars franchise is owned by Disney, and Dreamlight Valley is a Disney game! Harry Potter is owned by Warner Brother Studios... not Disney. Therefore, they would not have the rights or even the reason to introduce Harry Potter.

I wan’t to see The Sanderson Sisters come to Dreamlight Valley. Marvel is definitely one i want aswell, but i just know MANY people wont want it.

Star Wars to me only makes sense as a DLC like Rift in Time so that the core game is still more Disney centric. It would be the same as adding Marvel into the game as a DLC.
I can accept star wars to be relese as a dlc i can skip bying. Then people can chose if they want star wars. Star wars marvel will never be disney in my eyes because disney bouth them and did not create them.

I may not be interested in "Muppets" or "Cars" coming to valley just as some players may not be interested in Starwars characters... but at the end of the day, I'm confident that I'll be happy and excited regardless of who or what comes to Dreamlight Valley as it will always come with new adventures and experiences. 😁
When I took the survey and saw the Star Wars option, I didn't click on it. I picked Emperor's New Groove because I loved the movie growing up, and it's one of Disney's underrated movies next to Brother Bear and Treasure Planet. I'd love both of those movies to be in the game, too. I also picked Hercules and Aladdin. I may like Star Wars, but I didn't pick it, because Disney didn't make Star Wars. They bought Lucasfilm and made more movies and shows. I just feel like they should focus on actual movies Disney has made and not ones that were made by another company and than bought by Disney. If they want to add Star Wars and maybe MarveI I feel like they should wait until they're done with Disney and Pixar characters. This is my personal opinion and people can disagree with me all they want. We all have different opinions and that's okay.

Though, some of the outrage seems a bit extreme and to be frank, people claiming they would QUIT the game because one or two Starwars characters get introduced is unreal to me. 😂
The entire concept behind Dreamlight Valley is that it's a land of "imagination" and a place where we rescued our abandoned inner child. Considering this is the underlying theme of the game almost anything or anyone you can imagine who connects with the inner child of a player can "fit" in the game assuming they are Disney IP.
As for me, my inner child has always had an immense love for the Starwars universe and stories. Though... there are other characters I would prefer to see long before Starwars is introduced.
I'm a Star Wars fan and have a whole collection of Baby Yoda things, but Star Wars seems weird in the game. I prefer it to be a paid DLC if they were added. I'd probably buy it, but I don't want them in my valley.
Here's my take. I agree with you that we need to get disney animation and pixar characters before ever coming close to having Star Wars on the table. Where i think we differ is that to me, Star Wars is a franchise not created by disney and pixar company. It was an IP bought. And i feel Star Wars can potentially open a rabbit hole to marvel or aliens, etc, as then it starts to diminish the core essence of DDLV. Strictly centralizing it to disney animation characters helps bring its "disney magic" essence we most think of disney as.
One thing i want to point out on aladdin that has been bugging me is that i have a gut feeling jafar isn't the only character in the final enternity Isles Update. I do think aladdin and Jasmine are included there. If not aladdin, definitely jasmine. And the reason i believe this is because of jwhat jasmine villager house is. Her house in the movie is literally Agrabah palace. Same palace that is the centerpiece of enternity isles. I highly doubt GL would make two agrabah palaces. That's my theory.
As for other choices on list, the most excited i see on the list is the inclusion of jungle book characters. I love that movie a lot and have the main 4: baloo, Mowgli, bagheera, and shere khan, i think would help add more animals in game. I can even imagine great interactions between baloo and simba, or bagheera and nala, or scar and shere khan. Would be great.
The others i add are pinocchio and alice in wonderland. But i do love hercules added. You're idea for Hercules as dlc is exactly the same i hoped for too.

Also, I've had a theory about Alladin showing up in Eternity Isle since it was released! The addition of monkeys felt like a dead giveaway as it was an easy character model for Abu! Sadly, this survey has me reconsidering and feeling that we may not be seeing Alladin until sometime after Tiana or possibly later than that. Though, I really hope we get Alladin soon!
I wouldn't even want Star Wars as an optional DLC. Would create a massive rift in the player base. If the executives want to milk that cash cow, create a spinoff with a separate development team and let them handle all the Star Wars/Marvel properties. I think that would be really fun and would probably play it, but if they add either franchise to the valley, I've got loads of other games I could play. I would be willing to entertain 20th Century Fox animation characters if they fit the vibe.

i can agree to a point. to say that youll quit the game or play other things just because of 2 villagers roaming your valley seems absurd to me. 2 characters could not 'ruin' the game, and star wars is in a lot of peoples childhood.. i can understand concerns about potential rabbitholes, like 'Starwars being included could lead to marvel characters which would bring down the disney vibe", but to state that youll play something else if they add it and not make an ENTIRELY NEW GAME, thats just silly to me. its quite easy to put characters you dont like too much in an area where you wont see them. the statement that starwars characters would 'ruin the game' is just so dramatic and exaggerated

Star Wars does not belong in DDV imo. As a life long Star Wars nerd, I just don't want to see it in the valley. Disney has butchered Star Wars since Episode 7 and has continued to churn out utter garbage Star Wars content ever since. (minus Mando S1 & S2). Star Wars would need to be its own DLC so I can at the very least just not buy it.
I don't even want Star Wars as a paid expansion and I hope they don't create it. Star Wars makes it a different kind of game than Mickey and Minnie. I choose DDV and the current expansion because it is an innocent, cozy game. It's completely different than what a Star Wars expansionwould be even if it was Yoda. And I am really looking forward to a new expansion.. I think Sword and the Stone and Robin Hood would fit together well in a new expansion. I do love your idea of a Hercules expansion as well.

Happy to hear that! Starwars wasn't my first choice. It wasn't even in my top three. With that said, the entire concept of Disney Dreamlight Valley is about imagination and embracing your inner child. My inner child had a lot of love for Starwars and with Starwars being Disney IP, I really wouldn't mind seeing it in the game if it were done right.
It's just hard for me to imagine saying it would RUIN the game I would "leave the game" if Starwars were added. I don't want the muppets or cars in the valley for that matter... but I certainly wouldn't quit the game just because characters I don't connect with are added to the game. I would simply be happy that some people out there were happy.

i put weeks after the update so that you can focus on the hype of the of the new characters and not try to rush the event before the update comes
For events under Anniversaries I zoned in on the fact this year marks The Lion King 30th Anniversary, The Incredibles 20th anniversary and Big Hero Six 10th anniversary. To incorporate new items in Scrooge's shop if not the star path. ☺️
I would love to have more showcases. It was just so immersive and really fun to pause and see all the new things that would be coming. Also, when they asked where I get my Disney news, I made sure to put “the streamer probably_senpai” 😅♥️♥️♥️

I just live the fact we have the opportunity to gave our opinion on what we want for the game. I do have favorites I want to see in the game before anything else, but overall, I'm just excited and grateful for free and new content even if it's not my favorite franchise.
The trippiest stuff about the Star Wars stuff for me is thats EXACTLY what we were talking about on Twitch (maybe it was hypothesizing about a Star Wars DLC) when official DDLV Twitch popped in on one of the update days. They literally dropped the eyes 👀 to announce themselves in chat while we were discussing it and now here it is in the survey months later. Wild.

I can't remember the exact day! I think it was a few weeks before the update stream they appeared in! During the update stream for Daisy they chatted with us about the new Daisy feature. The stream where we spoke about SW happened a couple of weeks before that.

I loved the editing in this video as you really integrated the DDV promos! As a Star Wars fan, I would love to have Star Wars characters as a DLC so that it's a chance to be optional for people but also so I can get into the mindset of Star Wars in a different valley so to speak with different biomes. An Endor-themed biome would be amazing!!!
I know a lot of people are against Star Wars and don't even wanna think about them adding Marvel but the DLC hub in the castle has like 5 open docks so having SW/Marvel wouldn't take away from there being other new islands. Plus, think of the meta jokes about how no character in-game recognizes Luke Skywalker or Spider-man from before The Forgetting and doesn't think they were ever in the Valley (cuz they're not disney-based properties).

I actually LIKE the Star Wars idea from Gameloft BUT...only as a DLC. I think if they're going to add Star Wars characters, then it should be through DLC as they could have biomes based on the various planets from around the Galaxy far, far away or other sci-fi inspired biomes for these characters to wander around in. Also, I REALLY want Hades. I've said it before in a few places but what IF...we got Cerburus (his dog) as a companion? - either in puppy form or just scaled down because otherwise, he would just be too big. Hoping to see the God of the Underworld himself this Halloween as we haven't had any villains for a while. Guess I'll just have to wait and see...he is my most wanted Disney villain that we don't have currently.
I feel you! I want Hades SO BAD! He is my favorite! Ever since we got the "Well of Souls" in the first Halloween Starpath I've been hopeful for his arrival! James Woods was SO great in that role too!
I agree with so many of your thoughts and ideas. I'm a decor person too, my valley is nature driven. What I wouldn't do for more butterfly flower type plants/flowers (that thing is everywhere lol). I would love seasonal themes and events.
I love Finding Nemo. I DON'T want them in my valley because I hated having to grind Ursula & Ariel before being able to give them legs. Nemo or Dory won't be able to be your buddy which is a big part of the game.

I would love to have a world for wonderland I think they could do something very cool with that tho it would be sad to make it a dlc. I wouldn’t mind a realm but I feel a world could work so well and add some unique items to the game bc well…. It’s wonderland!! One character that would be incredible and in one point had interaction with a lot of the villager would be Sora from Kingdom Heart, would be a good DL with organisation 13 trying to use the dreamlight to open kingdom heart. But this is only a fantasy and Sora is own by Disney not Square Enix, would make sense to regroup with Mickey, Donald and Goffy and get new item with Kingdom heart team like the Keyblade could be use for a new tool like they did with the scepter in a rift in time
I don't even want Star Wars as DLC. Imagine not getting an Alice in Wonderland DLC because they're instead working on a Star Wars DLC for a whole year (the DLC cycles are a year long). Not cool. It is my opinion that Star Wars and Marvel do not fit into the vibe of this game at all and if they were added it would ruin the game for a lot of people.

I think a good chunk of the people saying that they 'don't want it but if it was a separate DLC it would be okay' aren't thinking about the development resources that would be pulled to make it happen and how it would impact other additions to the game. @KayD__o Yeah, I definitely see what you're saying about resources and your 100% right about that. Even if they released a starwars expansion, that would leave many people waiting for an expansion they would actually enjoy, which isn't quite fair. This is why I would prefer an expansion like this to come much later in Dreamlight Valley's lifespan, and this is also the big reason I did not vote for starwars. A nice alternative would be a simple dream bundle that includes a new villager like Grogu as it would be completely optional and would not require nearly as many resources as a paid expansion.
As far as the other portion of your statement, I don't think the developers or gameloft should be under any obligation to disregard purchased IP or to only include characters that were Disney IP during our "childhood" because by that logic *newer* Disney characters shouldn't be included at all. I mean... Starwars has been Disney property longer than Moana has existed, yet she's still part of the game. I don't really think it's fair or reasonable to cherry pick what Disney IP can come to the game simply because it doesn't ressonate with *you* and at the end of the day whether you agree or disagree about it fitting doesn't change the *fact* that it does based upon the very core concept of what Dreamlight Valley is. Yes, by this logic, the Simpsons and even Alien could potentially fit in the game, but I don't know many children who claim either of those were a big part of their childhood... maybe the simpons, but that's a stretch as most don't appreciate the humor of it until they are a bit older... Even still, I wouldn't even make a big fuss if they did add something like the Simpsons or decor from Alien if players were interested in it. As long as the new content makes someone happy and brings new experiences to my valley, it's fine by me.
@@Probably_Senpai Moana and the other newer charaters are directly from Disney animation studios (with the exception of Pixar but that was a relatively old acquisition) and so they are in a way descendants of the older characters. They have that Disney vibe.
Star Wars is a completely separate thing of its own. It's very, very different vibes. We can disagree though.
I love Star Wars a lot. I think Darth Vader's character arc is one of the best ever in film. I just don't need or want the force in my valley. I think it would diminish that cosy Disney magic feel and that feel is why I love this game.

You just brought up not including characters that weren't Disney IP during our childhood, so I found it reasonable to point out that some characters in the game didn't even exist in our childhood! I don't want star wars or marvel in DDV bc they don't fit at all. IMO those should be their own games or paid DLC separate islands fully themed for just those IPs. I want as many classic Disney characters before any of the non-Disney created stuff. I don't like the Muppets at all either lol. I love Cars, and maybe it would also be best as a DLC separate island so that the world fits car models and movements best. I love Robin Hood and would love to get him and Maid Marian and maybe Little John. Atlantis, Aladdin, Hercules, Peter Pan, Rescuers, Finding Nemo (I would love fish characters + water decor) etc... I would like to see "anniversary" events for some of the movies that may not introduced yet, Tarzen is turning 25, and Sleeping Beauty is 65 this year. Next year PETE IS 100!!! But I would like to see for 2025 Cinderella (is turning 75) and a few others having "big" anniversaries come to the game! But I also chose Hercules, I agree a DLC would be best! It is also mentioned when Merlin opens the dock that "chariots" can take us to new places... Are there any other characters that would fit with chariots? Also, I LOVE clone wars, and I am okay with them adding Grogu, Obi, and even Ahsoka.

Honestly, I'm okay with whichever characters come to the game. Would I prefer some over others, yes. The only thing I REALLY want is a DLC of The Hundred Acre Wood with Pooh and Tigger, we could even have bees added to fly around (like the butterflies). Especially Tigger, as he is my all time favorite Disney character. I can't even tell you how excited I was to see his name on that survey!! Haha. I would also love a biome or DLC with Alice in Wonderland. I think that the possibilities for the decor is so much fun to think about. This survey got me so excited for the future of this game! 💜

I really liked hearing your perspectives on the topics from the survey. The main problem I would have with Star Wars coming to the valley is that the characters would have to be animated. I know there are animated series of Star Wars, but most people know and love the real live movies and I think it would be very diffitcult to animate the Star Wars characters in a convincing way.

Look at all the starwars video games out there that have brought in millions of dollars. A vast majority of Starwars fans have never complained about animated starwars adaptations in games or shows. Also, yes, most people know and love the live action series, but nearly every true starwars fan is familiar with the animated series, and it was very well received by the community. Adaptation of live service to animation has never been a problem for starwars.
We have VERY similar outlooks on these characters with the exception of Jack Sparrow and Grogu. I am curious though why you chose Neutral for Judy Hopps but not interested at all for Nick Wylde. My personal opinion is that Zootopia characters / realm / items / clothing would be an awesome addition to the valley. But would love to know your opinion on that verse.

I think the only way Star Wars would integrate into the valley in the least offensive way to the core animation lover audience (including myself) would be to have it as a new expansion with a separate world (kinda like how you have to go to that platform area to go to Eternity Isle, they could build an entry to a star wars “valley”)
Agreed with everyone that star wars should be towards the END of the developers releasing the core pixar/disney IP’s first. But just my two cents 🤷🏽♀️.
Also just to put this out here: I would also love love looooove to have a whole expansion thats basically Pixie Hollow. 😭 biomes related to the seasons, hanging out with Tink and friends, unique recipes and more. Your avatar can become a fairy and fly around - but if Tink came to visit the valley she’d be Mushu sized but flying around. 🥹

I chose almost the same thing as you! Except for Star Wars. I know we had some Alice in Wonderland items in the premium shop, but wouldn't it be amazing to have an expansion with it?!
I also suggested seasonal focused events in that free text commentary section with the same hope to get seasonal decor, I just hope they vary the events from year to year

Well, we're twins on which franchises we want most. :) I had a lot of trouble choosing the clothing aesthetics. I want all of it except ballgowns, which I don't like on the thicc female avatar that I use.
Idek why people want live action characters in this game, they would look super freaking weird animated. I still find it funny article companies, like Screen Rant, BEGS constantly for stuff like Marvel characters in here; not a fan of Marvel so I would say no to that imo

Animated adaptations to "live action" media are made all the time. It all depends on how it's implicated. Personally, I loved the animated clone wars series and the whole series was based off of live action. It's actually extremely popular among the starwars fandom, so when done properly these adaptations are very well received. This is just one of many examples. That said, if you only like to see certain media as live action, that's valid. I'm just trying to help you see why other people don't mind it since that's what you opened with in your comment! I filled out the survey and I gave my feedback on all my favorite characters, and yet I'm looking forward to your predictions for the rest of this year and the beginning of next year.
In the list of characters, the one I was really surprise is "Kim Possible" because I thought characters that could come to the valley must come from disney classics, pixar or big franchise (Like Star wars... Yeah, I knew they might try to add it the game. Don't mind it but I agree it should via a DLC) However, with her, they open the door to disney channel characters.😮
With that in mind, I would LOVE a DLC for disney channel characters specificly so we could have as many has we can (Also, now my most wanted characters in the valley are any characters from "The owl house" I NEED THEM)

My only reasoning for not wanting Star Wars is because there are just so many Disney and Pixar movies that have no representation yet.
I like Star Wars but I wouldn’t be keen for it anytime soon as all I would be thinking about is what Disney/Pixar option it could have been instead.

I've never watched Star Wars. And I don't feel like it would fit the theme properly. Like having Marvel superheroes running around. Doesn't Star Wars already have its own dedicated games? And it has its own dedicated universe. I understand them asking, but to have it there would totally be a cash-grab.
I'm not fully against some space-themed decor, but the actual characters would feel weird.

There is a mobile game called Disney Magical kingdoms. It is from gameloft as well and is incredibly similar to this game. In fact, there are some items in this game that are originally from that game. But as far as live action movies go, that game has brought characters from Pirates of the Caribbean, Hocus Pocus, Star Wars, and a few others into the game. Since the art style is very similar in both games, I personally think they did a fantastic job at bringing live characters into the game without them looking odd or standing out from the other animated characters. So I am fairly confident that, if they were to bring live action characters into this game, they would do just as good of a job. And if that game is any indication of things that might possibly come to this one in the future (not saying it is), I would be beyond excited for it!

It depends on how it was incorporated. We're just talking about adding characters and biomes... same as every other update. Adding Starwars does not mean we are adding space travel and lightsaber duels. 😂

While Star Wars wouldn't be my top pick for characters, I am all in for a space theme DLC. If we would get an expansion set in space that would be epic. Though now that I think about it some, I worry that a star wars expansion might not have anything in space, which would kind of suck.

Oh, this one is easy to answer! The Starwars franchise is owned by Disney, and Dreamlight Valley is a Disney game! Harry Potter is owned by Warner Brother Studios... not Disney. Therefore, they would not have the rights or even the reason to introduce Harry Potter.

Star Wars to me only makes sense as a DLC like Rift in Time so that the core game is still more Disney centric. It would be the same as adding Marvel into the game as a DLC.
I can accept star wars to be relese as a dlc i can skip bying. Then people can chose if they want star wars.
