Hey everyone! Just wanted to pin a quick note in the comments here to start the conversation! First off, I want to be extra clear that I am not claiming any theories are incorrect. Rather, I am asking YOU for YOUR thoughts on the theories while simultaneously expressing my personal thoughts. The truth is, only Gameloft and Dreamlight Valley team know FOR SURE who IS and who IS NOT coming to the next paid expansion. You won't catch me claiming a character is or isn't coming. Afterall, I have no way of truly knowing or confirming that. Even if I HIGHLY doubt a theory, I won't outright say it's wrong because I have no way of knowing that. My theory videos have two primary purposes: To entertain and to foster community discussions. I find it entertaining to share various community theories regardless of how much I do, or do not, agree with them. One of my favorite things about this particular style of video is that it always sparks dialogue and more often than not, results in me hearing about new exciting theories I have yet to consider! Whether people disagree or agree with these theories is beside the point. Each and every player is 100% entitled to their opinions and theories. Let's all do our best to keep the conversations fun, inviting, considerate, and productive! Afterall, we're all very excited for the future of Dreamlight Valley!
I like your thought about the book being another royal tool. I mean, each new DLC (currently just one of course) has added a new type of magic for our valley ruler. Eternity Isle had time magic, which used the hourglass as a royal tool. What if the next DLC is fairytale/storybook in its nature, and we have a book like the one shown for "story magic", which Merlin mentioned during the quests leading up to confronting the Forgotten as being one of the strongest types of magics known. I guess we'll see. :)
RE: the book, I think there's some credence to it being a spell book belonging to a character. There are two magical characters with pet birds: the evil queen has her raven, and Merlin has his owl Archimedes. The branch at the top of the book is, in my opinion, actually a perch for a bird character. If this is the evil queen and her raven then we're clearly getting a new character and possibly a new core plotline involving her. However, if it's Merlin's book and a perch for Archimedes (which I personally think is more likely), then I think this is a hint that Merlin is going to find that there's 'more to the story' of the valley and we're about to start a new core quest/plot line. It makes sense when you consider that by the time this releases it will have been about a year since Skull Rock began to open and he did say that he would come back to us about that. I believe that this is a clue that he will have completed his research and will set us on the path to a new main storyline for the game.
@wolfrine5674 Yeah! I've talked about this a lot. I mention the "chariot" comment Merlin made all the time on my livestreams! That said, Hercules was part of the Survey for 2025 which means if we do get a Hercules DLC it will most likely come *after* the one we get this year!
@@Probably_Senpai I feel we might get Grimhelde as big bad for this dlc because she's only sorceress in Disney Maleficent doesn't need a spell book she just makes it up as she goes
While I think the simplicity of hiding character houses is the most plausible, I really hope that's not the only way they're adding space because I have no desire to hide a single house - I want MORE space, not getting rid of things
My theory is that the book represents a DLC for Winnie the Pooh. With the branch hinting at Hundred Acre Wood, since Pooh and his friends are only “alive” in a storybook. They mentioned a lot about the Winnie the Pooh characters in past surveys and it would make more sense to have their own DLC than trying to implement them into the existing areas.
This is exactly what I mean when I said these conversations often lead to me discovering new theories! I haven't heard this particular theory yet but it's a fun one and it could come true! I wouldn't mind hanging with Pooh! (As long as I can have Tigger!)
I thought "stich" a new mystery could be a reference to sewing. Sally's dress is on a mannequin and we have all these sewing machines in the game. The sewing machines could work like crafting tables to sew items. Use cotton to make fabric and flowers to make dyes. Just a thought.
I think we will be getting new areas on the map. If you look at certain areas on the map there is likely an additional space at the back of forgotten lands. There is a clear way for additional space up the mountains. And there is a definate change in the rocky areas at the back of the water on the bach there is an area at the end of the glade that looks like it will be a pathway. All these areas now have extra floating areas surrounding them. The houses on off thing I think this could be a thing too. The tide you over is in brackets to me that is a hint tide meaning beach area definitely.
Looking back, the hourglass teaser might actually tie to Jafar indirectly AS WELL as tease the new tool. Jafar in the movie uses an hourglass "The Sands of Time" to find Aladdin and trapped Jasmine in an hourglass in the final fight. Maybe Jafar just inspired the new royal hourglass tool and this spellbook may have been inspired BY the Evil Queen but it isn't her's specifically. With that theory, maybe the book allows you to change the spawn items into magic. For Example: Instead of just pickaxing a rock pop-up, you use the spell book to get the new island's magic currency, but don't get rocks out of it.
I think better than hiding or removing houses, we should be able to apply player homes as an exterior to our own existing house and to villagers houses. I dont need more than one house. Maybe this would be undesirable for someone who wants to decorate multiple interiors though. But this way we wouldnt have to prevent seeing villagers in their home, we can just change their ugly exterior.
I personally feel like the book being tied to the Evil Queen or any of the villains is such a stretch as there isn't really anything sinister about the book at all. I had a similar theory that it was hinting at a new tool and there's gonna be an issue with magic causing chaos as the book has similarities to Yen Sid's spell book. So maybe something happens to Merlin and in order to help save him Mickey will don the sorcerer outfit {since we have the "garb mannequin" furniture piece that's wearing it) and we'll get sorcerer Mickey. also for those saying we don't have skulls in the game...there is literally Skull Rock, which is a GIANT skull lol.
@Spoopers Very strong point about the book not appearing sinister. I've loved hearing the theories about the Evil Queen, Malificent, and more... but as much as I do enjoy these fun theories, the book really doesn't *feel* like it's tied to anyone bad. Of course, there's no way to know for sure. But that's the vibe I get. Can't wait to find out! Also, the skull rock comment 💀😂
I think you might be right it is the new royal tool, but it might also point to the Evil Queen being the big bad. I mean the hour glass has sand and deserts tie to Jafar so in that way this might also tie to it. I could see them being Snow White in the main game but Evil Queen in a DLC.
That's certainly a possibility! We'll likely get the truth in November or whenever they release the showcase! I just wanted to pitch the idea that it's equally possible this book is not a hint for a character, but rather a theme.
I agree a rift in time was themed off Aladin with Jafar being the bad guy and we didn't get Aladin Jasmin or genie so the dlc possibly being snow white themed does not mean they planed to release snow white in the dlc. I wish it could be maleficent as she's my favorite villain, but I do think the book would be more likely tied to the evil queen. I love the theories and can't wait for the showcase to finally get some more information.
The concept of 'Tide' is very good for the Hawaiian Lilo to go with Stitch. And I would love for Dazzle Beach to be wider. A Hawaiian Christmas, why not? Perhaps Stitch is part of the quest for bringing Sally to the valley. But you know, stitching a mystery together, as Sally is a ragdoll and it's her dress on a mannequin. I don't really see 'Stream' being a big thing. Gameloft just looks at it and smiles a bit at the water reference, but doesn't mean anything more by it because you know, a stream is a stream. I think if that book belongs to somebody, it will be the Evil Queen. After all, Snow White is coming out next year, and Gameloft has repeatedly balanced the movies with the character and item releases - simply because it's better advertising. But it could be a new tool AS WELL. Like, we get the Evil Queen's spellbook. Snow White was in the survey just to check "Oh, if everybody hates Snow White, maybe if there's 200% turndown on her, maybe we'll have to say something to Disney about somebody else." Perhaps it was just to put us off the scent. To me, the branch is off an apple tree.
@@hyenaholicproductions9033 Reasonable take! I did mention in the video that the mysterious book could very well be a royal tool and be tied to the villain or a character in some way! Time will tell. At the end of the day, I'm just really enjoying the theories and speculation!
Finally! I’ve been saying this for awhile that I don’t think the book nods to any specific character but the overall theme. I theorize that the theme will connect with the new theme they are adding on our main island. They are also presenting the night mites into the realms before the end of the year. I think both of these and the book nod to us rewriting broken or switched stories. The dlc might for us on a land affected by a curse causing items and memories to be placed where they shouldnt be almost like the stories are being rewritten. For example, Snow White falling down a rabbit hole or Pinocchio eating the apple and falling asleep. We can use the spell book to reverse these curses. The only character I have theorized might be coming next year either in DLC or on the main island is Lilo since they said “this should tide us over” 😅
@quiqueenb I love your idea about the book helping us rewrite broken stories! That's such a cool concept! I never thought of that possibility, but it would certainly make new quests very entertaining!
It wasnt until you brought up the previous roadmap for the hourglass tool that I really started to think beyond it being related to specific characters/movies, so thank you ❤ But What if it's not quite a tool we can move around with, but instead a immovable podium we walk up to to insert missing pages that we collect to fix the dlc area/story? And maybe Archimedes from Sword in Stone, or another bird, would appear on the branch directing us throughout that quest journey. Kinda like what they do in Kingdom Hearts with Winnie the Pooh and friends, where you collect book pages to insert back in and go inside to spend time in 100 acre wood with Pooh and others.
I love your royal tool theory! It seems very likely to me. You said the hourglass had no reference to a character. There is the scene where Jafar traps Jasmine in an hourglass. So the book could be both a royal tool and a reference to a character. But I don’t know if it will be the evil queen or someone else.
@ninarasm Yeah, I'm aware of that scene! So, I think what I'm saying here has been misunderstood by a few people. I should have worded it better in the video, but allow me to clarify! When I say the Hourglass didn't have anything to do with Jafar, I'm just trying to point out that it wasn't *his* hourglass. Much like this new book may not belong to another character. The Hourglass in the old roadmap was clearly symbolic to the theme of time "A Rift in time" and a direct hint to the new royal tool. The Hourglass in the old roadmap was not Jafar's Hourglass therefore isn't related to him. I'm only proposing the same possibility with the mysterious book from the current roadmap. Again, I could have explained that better in the video. My apologies!
@@Probably_Senpai I know. No worries. Just wanted to share my thought that it could be both a tool tease and a hint to a character. I think you are right about the tool.
The book gives me strong Merlin vibes and I really hope the branch at the top means they'll finally add Archimedes (Merlin's owl) to the game. Even his funko pop includes the owl, it's ridiculous that we don't have that little cutie already. Honestly, I think they're sleeping on revenue opportunities with all the movie sidekick animals. We have a couple (Pua, Hei Hei, and Figaro), but there are SO MANY others people would pay moonstones for. Also, you're 1000% right about the "we don't have skulls" comment. Not only have we got the pirate table, it's a silly thing for anyone to say with Jack Skellington gangling around the valley 💀
I don't think it's a stretch for them to move built-in building such as Elsa's cave or Mother Gothel's tree. Remember when the Vitalys Mines waterfall was behind the lake. Not saying I think it's happening anytime soon, but it could happen.
Tbh, I can't imagine how they'd give us "much more space" (their own words) without adding at least 1 new biome to the main Valley. Hopefully, the upcoming showcase will give us a glimpse at some of the "free features" they've come up with. As for the new Royal Tool, maybe they're going to add a whole suite of enchantment/potion recipes like Minecraft "vanilla" has/had.
I swear I wouldn't even mind if I had to walk up to a big gate or something in the valley, sit through a load screen, and then be transported to an area with more biomes 😅😅 I know it's basically the same concept as E.I., but still kinda physically connected to the Valley via a gate or whatever. Haha I know it wouldn't technically be in the Valley, but I think my brain could make it work 😂
Stitch together could be Oogie along with sally too.. he is held together by a stitch. Which I would be thrilled for him to join the valley. He does have a big enough following (including him being the headliner for Disneyland Halloween).
The book makes me think of the third Cinderella movie. The whole theme of the movie is the story gets twisted and manipulated when the evil stepmother gets fairy godmothers wand. So I wonder if the theme of the new expansion is fixing stories back to the original timeline.
I think that in the next expansion they are going to give us some biome that we don't have. For example, in the central valley we have a forest, a beach, a swamp, a plaza...etc, in the A Rift in Time expansion they gave us desert and jungle which we did not have in the valley. Maybe the will give us something to do with the sea or ships (Pirates of the Caribbean) or the jungle of Pandora (Avatar) or maybe some Futuristic City...I don't know. Some biome that we have not previously had in Dreamlight Valley or in The Rift in Time expansion, but i think it will be a biome that has to do with the characters that are included in the new expansion...like Jafar is tie to a desert. I definitely think that the book is going to be a Tool because they did the same with the hourglass…I’m very excited with whatever they give us!!
Its might be new water decorating tools because in the tiana video they show a waterfall that isnt in the valley yet. It may also be in tianas realm though.
I think they can use these islands. You can see at the beach and use the the wooded area and have a way to reach them. Like a rope bridge. Ect. With more space. Downsize the too tall buildings
This may not be possible, but when I hear “add more space to your valley” I’m kind of thinking something similar to adding an extra room in your home. Imagine you can add a section to any biome; _ x _ square space, or maybe its only one option. This would just add a branch off to the side with a bunch of blank space for you to freely build in.
One issue here would be for biomes that don’t have any open space around them, such as the plaza or meadow. For these, maybe you can just increase the square footage, but that may be getting a bit crazy 😂
I could be wrong, but the first Reddit theory is far-fetched. Sally is a rag doll and she is stitched together. At one point in the movie, she tries to escape from Dr. Finkelstein so she jumps out of the window; because of this, her limbs fall off so she needs to sew (stitch) them back together. Also, in her room there is a sewing machine which has a spider spinning its web, which is the thread for the machine. I believe this is why the devs have used the term 'stitch'.
I hope it's the Gummi Bears, and this book is the one used by Zummi Gummi, and we get Gummiberry juice so we can bounce around. I'd rather see that than Snow White. There are so many spell and story books in Disney it would be hard to surmise who this is exactly attached to, if any character. Though this looks like a storybook, not a spell book, which makes me think it's Winnie the Pooh; so we get this book, and end up pulling Pooh, and others into the Valley, versus the other method.
@Probably_Senpai I think it could be tied to the Winnie the Pooh (in regards to how the 100 acres woods were introduced into the game called Kingdom Hearts) just thought I’d share my take on it. :)
When I look at the book, I started thinking that it might not be tied to a specific character, I think it could mean that the book/new royal tool is in a sword in the stone biome in the new DLC
I thought Elsa's cave was already moveable because her "house" was shown in Frosted Heights proper in the promotional trailer that plays when you let the game idle on the title screen also a character that's basically confirmed from the same promotional video. is Ralph. he's the only one yet to come from that video that i can tell since Timon and Pumbaa are coming in October. it's just a matter of time with Ralph.
I've heard so many theories on the book teaser for the showcase at this point I'm hoping that the end of EI update gives us a clue into the next dlc at this point
It really is so important to be critical of information flow, take the time to process and be logical… Anyway I don’t really have a theory on the book - love to watch and read other peoples theories though, while I am (im)patiently waiting for gameloft to bring me more info. I love your theory on a new royal tool! To be a little annoying though I will say that jafar actually imprisoned jasmine in an hourglass once, so there was a tiny bit of a connection after all I would say 😉
I would LOVE if Lilo came. I have also been looking at the phrases they have been using but I think it’s pushing more to a weather perspective, such as the 100% forecast wording they used for the rift teaser. I personally like Daisy’s shop design and think it’s horrible that it can’t be used in dreamsnaps. I think they need to find a different way to get around the tom thing besides having to hide her shop. I wish MG tree would be able to disappear when decorating. Its so hard to move stuff in the glade because the limbs block the view. I think they could open the treehouse to give us an area of DLC type biomes but not actually paid for, just part of the base game. I think it would work to be unlocked with the storyline because by the time you get to that level in the story you need more room. I know what you mean about the theory thing. I posted my theory and I have had people get downright mad at me because I didn’t say it was winnie the pooh. Omg!! Thats me!!!! You used my post in your video. I’m so honored!!! I never realized how much I rambled in that post. Lol. Some of it might be wishful thinking. After watching others talk about their theories I think it’s possibly not just SW but maybe related. I’m also thinking if it’s a tool, it would be more of a tool bench that we go to to make spells. I know people have also wanted a cauldron that worked. Maybe instead of a cauldron we could get a spell book tool stand. My thought on Merlin is we already have Merlin. So maybe Madam Mim could be the big bad by stealing Merlins spell book. The branch itself with the angles I was referring to like the angles when the vulture was sitting on. And the tree was just the end of the branch. I forgot to add the picture of the vultures. Omg thank you for sharing your views on my post. I forget people don’t know how to say my name. It’s pronounced Amy Lee Bork. That’s totally made my day!! I can’t wait to go tell my daughter that you reviewed my theory!!
Character in the last survey could still appear in the next Expansion Pass. Leaving Snow White out or other popular characters would leave lot of questions. I hope it's just Sally appearing when the next Expansion Pass is released. During the holidays that was enough to keep me busy. For dreamsnap decorating could it work like Happy Home Paradise. Pick the Biome and get transported to an empty Biome that you can decorate.
They should make an area just for villagers houses. I say, put it up on a floating cloud that is high up in the air so you don't seem them if you don't want to see them. Also a floating cloud city would be cool.
With you look at Toy Story Update on December 6 2022 we got 3 Characters Toy Story Realm with Buzz and Woody and Stitch So Lilo and Sally Could come but who knows
I’m kinda like wondering that book just might definitely be a newer Royal Tool. I’m kinda wondering if that book just might belong to the Old Ruler , but also we just might maybe inherit that book instantly. But I’m also wondering like if we just might get to live in the Dream Castle.
Here's what Google says: The correct phrase is "tide you over" and not "tie you over". "Tide someone over" is a phrasal verb that means to help someone get through a difficult period, usually by lending them money. For example, "Can you lend me some money to tide me over till the weekend?" (This was all just copy pasted)
I really hope they split the loading screen to 2 biomes at a time instead of whole valley for switch users because I can't even place more than half the item limit before it starts to freeze up. The map is too large and it can't handle it..
here me out what if its a clue to the next act of the base game story and not for the next dlc. just as a book this game has chapters in in my nolitch we are still in act1 and there are theories going around that it is the book of merlin a base game charecter, btw they also said they are listening to the comunetie for next years update and the most asked thing is: what is up with skull rock?
Has anyone been able to read the writing in the book? I was curious if the writing in it was real, and I can honestly make out several words in the book, but not enough to make sense of it, and some of the words do appear to be nonsense as well, especially on the second page. Someone more skilled might be able to improve the picture quality enough to read it? I wonder if its mostly nonsense, but with a few real words in it as well that hint towards what it is?
What you are saying about the story book and the royal tools is a very good point. I really thought Aladdin was tied to the hour glass in the desert 🏜️ Well I was wrong 🥹

I really love all of the theories they are so fun! I am just excited to see that we are nearing a new dlc! 😊
It wasnt until you brought up the previous roadmap for the hourglass tool that I really started to think beyond it being related to specific characters/movies, so thank you ❤
But
What if it's not quite a tool we can move around with, but instead a immovable podium we walk up to to insert missing pages that we collect to fix the dlc area/story?
@naturallycoco Nobody said it couldn't happen. Just that it would be much more complicated from a development standpoint.
Haha I know it wouldn't technically be in the Valley, but I think my brain could make it work 😂
@brett443 Yes, like the raft that goes to Ariel's Island.
@@DavidChilson oh yeah I didn't even think about that!
SO A COOL IDEA
Dont think they will add lilo without her sister Nani. Feels wrong to add a 7 year old alone.
Love the idea of a spellbook as a tool.
I really like Nani so I would be fine with this lol
My first impression of the branch was Sword in the Stone. The book, maybe Fantasia, but I can't even remember if there was a book in that one. 😂
I wonder if the new tool will be a magic wand and the spellbook will be like the crafting/time-bending tables.
A new royal tool? I’d love to see this!
We also have a giant SKULL rock
I could be wrong, but the first Reddit theory is far-fetched. Sally is a rag doll and she is stitched together. At one point in the movie, she tries to escape from Dr. Finkelstein so she jumps out of the window; because of this, her limbs fall off so she needs to sew (stitch) them back together. Also, in her room there is a sewing machine which has a spider spinning its web, which is the thread for the machine. I believe this is why the devs have used the term 'stitch'.
Finally getting caught up senpai!!!!
I agreed with you. This book don’t look evil. It looks more like an old magic book.
I just want to be able to place items at an angle at some point soon. Lol
I am hoping that they just simply make each biome bigger
When I look at the book, I started thinking that it might not be tied to a specific character, I think it could mean that the book/new royal tool is in a sword in the stone biome in the new DLC
IF the book is tied to a character, my guess is Madame Mim. We started the game with Merlin, we could end the initial story, with her.
I thought Elsa's cave was already moveable because her "house" was shown in Frosted Heights proper in the promotional trailer that plays when you let the game idle on the title screen
also a character that's basically confirmed from the same promotional video. is Ralph. he's the only one yet to come from that video that i can tell since Timon and Pumbaa are coming in October. it's just a matter of time with Ralph.
I've heard so many theories on the book teaser for the showcase at this point I'm hoping that the end of EI update gives us a clue into the next dlc at this point
It really is so important to be critical of information flow, take the time to process and be logical…
Anyway I don’t really have a theory on the book - love to watch and read other peoples theories though, while I am (im)patiently waiting for gameloft to bring me more info.
I think it possibly means that we might able to swim or getting a bout something like that lol
With you look at Toy Story Update on December 6 2022 we got 3 Characters Toy Story Realm with Buzz and Woody and Stitch
So Lilo and Sally Could come but who knows
I’m kinda like wondering that book just might definitely be a newer Royal Tool.
I’m kinda wondering if that book just might belong to the Old Ruler , but also we just might maybe inherit that book instantly.
But I’m also wondering like if we just might get to live in the Dream Castle.
To me, it looks more like a story book than a spell book, but I don’t know.
11:39 It's confirmed to be Malificent and Hades
Not a theory or anything, but when I first saw the book, it gave me Fantasia vibes. Not sure how that would work though
Royal tool! Yes!💜✨
I always thought it was “tie you over: not tide, so it is interesting…
Here's what Google says:
The correct phrase is "tide you over" and not "tie you over".
"Tide someone over" is a phrasal verb that means to help someone get through a difficult period, usually by lending them money.
For example, "Can you lend me some money to tide me over till the weekend?"
(This was all just copy pasted)
I feel like I’m having a bit of Mandela affect cus idk why my first thought seeing that book was evil queen lol
I will not get more houses if I have to hide them I love all of them to be out to injoy
Hi Senpai.
I really hope they split the loading screen to 2 biomes at a time instead of whole valley for switch users because I can't even place more than half the item limit before it starts to freeze up. The map is too large and it can't handle it..
Also I believe Evil Queen is coming to the expansion she will be like Jafar the main villain we get at the end
here me out what if its a clue to the next act of the base game story and not for the next dlc. just as a book this game has chapters in in my nolitch we are still in act1 and there are theories going around that it is the book of merlin a base game charecter, btw they also said they are listening to the comunetie for next years update and the most asked thing is: what is up with skull rock?
i dont think its to hint at act 2 of the basegame because well its in the paid expansion part of the roadmap
That’s a great idea!! I only tied it to a new dlc because it was on the bottom of the roadmap like the dlc stuff normally is.
Hi Probably Senpai Ask The Disney DreamValley Team If Captain John Smith Ralph And Tarzan Will Come In Disney DreamValley In The Future
Why are there Atlantis references in the game? Will their King and Queen appear as characters at some point?
i think the book being a royal tool is the most plausible theory, not looking too deep into it yk
Why not just allow us to use house skins on villager homes?
What you are saying about the story book and the royal tools is a very good point. I really thought Aladdin was tied to the hour glass in the desert 🏜️ Well I was wrong 🥹
