Angel" is a song by Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan.
The song first appeared on McLachlan's fourth studio album, Surfacing, in 1997 and was released as the album's fourth and final single in September 1998.
The lyrics are about the death of musician Jonathan Melvoin (1961-1996) from a heroin overdose.
Good reason to stay away from drugs.
Both of these girls were young and , probably a bit nervous being in front of the camera , both knowing this song is going out on youtube for the world to see , but you cant tell it by listening to this performance . I saw a interview with Lucy about the time this performance came out and Lucy said she was starting to get comfortable with the camera .. I tip my hat to Martha , she did an outstanding performance here , I bet it was because Martha has such a great teacher , and yes that would be Ms Lucy .. You are on a roll... 👍🙂 Yes this song is around 3.5 years old when Lucy was 16 and Martha just 10, and this their second duet on TH-cam. Their last duet was for Christmas 2023 ‘Mary Did You Know’ and that has incredibly harmonies that reach the heavens to better even their other spectacular Christmas songs. In that Lucy is 19 and Martha 14, their present age.
I love that you recognize and appreciate the unique nature of sibling harmony, and there are no more beautiful sibling harmonies anywhere than those between Lucy and Martha. I highly recommend two of their duets: You Raise me Up, and The Prayer (where you get to hear them in Italian). No words can do justice to these two talented sisters, and Lucy is destined to become a benchmark that other young. women will strive to become.

There is an older video where little Martha is still in pigtails, singing "I'm giving up on you" with her beloved older sister.
When you go deeper into the Lucy Thomas rabbit hole, you will notice the mutual love and regard between the sisters, the fond glances and smiles they exchange. The 5.5-year age difference obviously left no room for sibling rivalry.
I always have to reach for a tear-drying tissue when watching them sing together and, curiously, am always left in a mellow and peaceful state of mind when the singing is done. Is there any higher purpose than THAT for beautiful music?

Hi ya - yet another Lucy & Martha reaction and I so pleased you are reacting to these two amazing young ladies. After these two you only have seven more to go - lol. Martha is 5 years and 8 months younger than Lucy. This is the best performance of this song that I have ever heard - but I am more than a little biased. Their harmonies are just so incredible. Please keep on featuring Lucy and Lucy & Martha - the Lucy fans will be very happy as I am! Until I see your next reaction - stay safe and healthy!

Lucy will be 20 on the 24th of Feb,Martha was 14 last November,this video was from around 3 years ago I believe!.
Martha's ambitions are away from singing profesionaly as she in a very fine rider having been involved in a # of equestrian events with her horse Cloud!.

If you get a chance check out Emily Linge , she is someone I have also enjoyed listening to over the last 2 years . She done a Skeeter Davis cover called .. The End Of The World ... She is an amazing piano player. She is 16 now and loves the Beetles, her covers are really good.
