    😀 Hi Jason I'm sorry to hear your camera battery went dead but your cell phone quality with the picture of the train and the rail worker working to move cars around before they take off looks pretty good. It looks like you're getting some snow flurries going on there and it's very cold I don't blame you for sitting in your car on that one but the cell phone quality of the picture looks good thank you.

    If the FRA saw the way he was switching the cars there would be a lot of fines. I have seen people get hurt doing what he was doing.

      I was going to ask if that is SOP to step between moving cars at 16:51 to release the coupler. I'm guessing not. Mad respect to the conductor, but I see a potentially grisly injury in his future if he does that regularly.

    • @sandyg9228
      @sandyg9228 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was thinking the same thing! Swinging off a moving locomotive and reaching in to pull the coupler pin while the cars were still moving.

    Have you ever heard or know of a "GO BAG" I carry two with me at all times in my vehicle? Mine is used for emergencies especially when there has been a tornado or hurricane in my area. I work with CERT {Community Emergency Response Team] and we are trained in looking for structural damages in houses ad other buildings. I can and have turned off gas, electricity, and water to buildings to keep them from exploding and catching fire.
    But a "Go Bag" can be used for a multitude of different things including holding cameras, batteries, rubber gloves. poncho, etc. It's a nice thing to have with you at all times. It's just a thought that could save your bacon in the future.

    That’s a lot of logs!

  • @paulbergen9114
    @paulbergen9114 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Today half the scrap is from the cut up pile of heavy iron. Those logs kept getting worse as the trip wore on. With them dangling and protruding this points out why CN will not take these cars in interchange and the cars must have metal posts on the sides and be loaded perpendicular in the car. It is ironic the last flatcar was loaded neat as a pin. Somewhere in the swamp Barney Beaver saw all the logs laying around then thumped his tail and said Thanks ELS!

    Jason can I make a strong suggestion get one of them portable power banks the charge your cell phone and your camera battery up they sell things like that the charge devices like you gotten like I got they don't cost too much if your shop around you might get a good deal on what I just mentioned out there thank you.

    Really enjoyed the video. That tanker contained Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate which is primarily used to make Polyurethane Foam like those used for thermal insulation found in refrigerators and freezers as well as buildings. And as you thought, it is also used to make industrial strength adhesives. The Hazmat label, 3082 means it is a Class 9 Environmentally Hazardous Substances, Liquid, N. O. S. (Not Otherwise Specified). Definitions obtained from various internet sources.

      Typical old school shortline stuck in the past. I barely surviving company with no proper safety culture and bad corporate leadership, just look at the condition of any of there track and equipment. Embarrassing! Owner is aloof and really cheap. They should be putting in thousands of ties pet year and applying for state and federal money to fix it up to safe Class II standards. It's the responsibility of the train crews to bad order cars which aren't safe to move. i.e. logs hanging off which could fall off and kill somebody!
